WARPING Overview • About warping •Warpstatus • Type of warping selection • Reset warping board • Warp with commands •Warpviafiles •Configurator, Warp User Interface 12.1 About warping Overview Image warping is the process of digitally manipulating an image to compensate for the distortion of the screen. Consequently, it can also be used to generate an image with irregular shape. While an image can be transformed in various ways, pure warping doesn’t affect the colors. Some examples of warped images, using the warp geometry settings: Image 12-1 Example 1 : distorted imageImage 12-2 Example 2 : distorted image Creation of warping settings Warping settings can be created viaWarping commandswhich are directly send to selected device(s) or via awarp user interfacewhich allows to manipulate almost any point on any place in the image so that the desired image is displayed. The settings created via the user interface can be stored in afile and this file can be downloaded in the selected device(s). 12.2 Warp status Overview ThestatusofthewarpingboardcanbeseenontheDisable Warpbutton. • Pressed : warping board disabled • Not pressed : warping board enabled R5905073 PROJECTOR TOOLSET 07/06/2011 179
12. Warping How to enable - disable the warping board 1. To enable the warping board, make sure the Disable Warp button in not pressed (light gray color). When the Disable Warp button is pressed, click on that button to enable the warping board. (image 12-3) When enabled, all other commands become available. 2. To disable the warping board, make sure theDisable Warpbutton is in the pressed state (dark gray color). Image 12-3 Warp status Availability of adjustments Depending on the warp command selection, other adjustments are available or disabled. E.g. whenfirst keystone is adjusted, all other adjustments are disabled. 12.3 Type of warping selection How to make the selection 1. While in the Warping tab page, click on the corresponding button. 12. Warping The following commands are available : • Rotation • Keystone • Pin/barrel •Scale • Linearity •Shift •Shiftline • Shift point rotation 12.5.2 Rotation What can be done ? The image can be rotated clockwise or counter clockwise until the desired position is reached. The ro- tation point can be selected by setting the X and Y coordinate. When this adjustment is started, other adjustments are limited. Image 12-6 Rotation How to rotate 1. Check the check box in front ofEnable rotation. (image 12-7) The rotation adjustments become available. 2. To change the rotation point, change the value of the X and Y coordinate. Click on the slider and move it to the left or to the right to adjust until the desired position is obtained. Or, click on the up down control of the spin box until the desired position is reached. Or, click in the inputfield and enter the desired value with the keyboard. 3. To change theRotation, click on the slider and move it to the left or to the right until the desired rotation is obtained. A positive value is clockwise rotation, a negative value is counter clockwise rotation. Or, click on the up down control of the spin box until the desired rotation is reached. Or, click in the inputfield and enter the desired value with the keyboard. 182 R5905073 PROJECTOR TOOLSET 07/06/2011
