Standard Printable Area The standard printable area is an area on paper excluding the 4 mm margins on all four edges of the paper. The actual printable area, however, may vary depending on the printer (plotter) control language. Extended Printable Area With the extended printable area setting, the printable area can be extended to 297 x 432 mm at a maximum. The unprintable area, however, may vary depending on the size of paper. If the machine is in the No Account Mode 1) Proceed to Step 1 of the following procedure. If the machine is in the Single Account Mode 1) Refer to Logging in to the Machine (P.68) to log in to the machine. 2) Proceed to Step 1 of the following procedure. If the machine is in the Multiple Account Mode 1) Refer to Logging in to the Machine (P.69) to log in to the machine under the System Administrator’s account. 2) Proceed to Step 1 of the following procedure. 1.Hold down the button for four second. The machine enters the System Setting Mode. The letter [P] appears blinking in the Display. 2.Enter a menu number that you wish to configure using the numeric keypad in reference to System Setting List (P.124). 3.Press the button to confirm the entered menu number. The currently set value of the menu number appears blinking in the Display. 4.Enter a new value using the numeric keypad in reference to System Setting List (P.124). Note • Automatically erases the previously set value in the Display as you start entering a new value. button

The machine exits the System Setting Mode. Note • Because you can only set a single password on the machine in the Single Account Mode, the same password must be used by the general users and the System Administrator. 17 Wait Time after Clearing Jams in the Bypass TrayAfter clearing paper jams in the Bypass Tray, the machine automatically executes the recovery processing. Specify how long it takes for the machine to start its recovery processing after paper jams have been cleared.0 - 60 seconds (Default: 8 seconds) 18 Carriage Return Position When scanning a document for a copy or scan job, opening the Document Cover triggers the scanner carriage to be in the ready position. However, if you do not press the button to start the job within a specified period of time, the scanner carriage goes back to its default position. Switch the measuring unit as necessary in the system setting (menu number: 15). Note • When an undetectable size of document is loaded in the Document Feeder, the error code [A2] appears in the display. For more information, refer to Error Codes (P.92).
