14 Troubleshooting Xerox Phaser 3635 User Guide215 Front Cover Area Jams 1.Press on both the front cover latches on the sides of the machine to open the front cover. 2.Remove the print cartridge and remove any jammed paper. 3.Replace the print cartridge and close the front cover door. 4.Open the paper trays and remove any jammed paper. 5.Close the paper tray. Rear Cover Area (Duplex Area) Jams 1.Open the machine rear covers and release the green rear cover support. Remove any jammed paper in the duplex area. WA RN ING : The metallic surfaces in the fuser area are hot. Please use caution when removing paper jams from this area and avoid touching any metallic surfaces 2.Slide the green fuser door latch to the right and open the fuser door to gain access to the inside of the fuser module. 14 Troubleshooting 216Xerox Phaser 3635 User Guide 3.Carefully close the fuser door. Ensure there is an audible click as the fuser door latch slides back into position. 4.Close the rear cover door. Document Jams 1.Remove all the documents from the document feeder and document glass. 2.Lift the document handler cover and remover any jammed paper. 3.Close the document handler cover. 4.Re-order the documents as at the start of the job and reload. The documents will be recycled automatically to recover the job integrity. NOTE: If you are unable to clear the fault, contact your local Xerox Welcome and Support Centre for assistance. 14 Troubleshooting Xerox Phaser 3635 User Guide217 Error and Fault Codes If an abnormal condition arises in the machine or an incorrect operation is performed, a message indicating the nature of the error is displayed on the User Interface screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to correct the error. If the fault persists, Power Off / Power On. If the problem persists, call for service. Errors & FaultsDescriptionSolution Paper Fe e d e r Door Open The back cover or front covers are not securely latched.Close the covers until they lock into place. If fault persists, call service. Tray Paper Low Paper supply in tray has run low (fewer than 50 sheets).Load paper in the tray indicated by the warning message. Paper Empty at Tray The copy paper in the paper tray has run out.Load paper in the tray indicated by the warning message. Paper Empty at Bypass TrayThe copy paper in the bypass tray has run out.Load paper in the bypass tray. Tray Cassette Out Paper tray is not securely closed.Close the paper tray until it locks into place. Jam from Tray Copy paper has jammed in the paper tray.Open the indicated tray and remove the jammed paper. Open back and front covers and remove jam. Duplex Jam Copy paper has jammed in the side cover.Open the back covers and remove the jammed paper. Out Bin Full Output tray is more than 90% full.Remove printed material from page output area. CRU Toner Low Print Cartridge is almost empty. Open front cover. Remove Print Cartridge and gently shake it. By doing this, printing operations can be temporarily resumed. Reinstall Print Cartridge. Close front cover. Reorder Print Cartridge. Toner Empty Print Cartridge is empty. Open front cover. Replace with new Print Cartridge. Print Cartridge Not InstalledThe Print Cartridge is not installed, or is not installed correctly. Install the Print Cartridge. If already installed, check it has been installed correctly. Invalid Print Cartridge The installed Print Cartridge is not a valid Xerox cartridge.Check the Print Cartridge and install a valid Xerox cartridge if necessary. If problem persists, call for service. OutputFull Stack Output tray full. Remove printed material from Output tray. Staple Cartridge Not InstalledStaple cartridge not installed. Install staple cartridge. Stapler Fault Stapler unit does not work. Open stapler door and check the stapler. Close stapler door. If the fault persists, Power Off / Power On. If the problem persists, call for service. DADFDADF Jam The loaded document has jammed in the DADF.Open DADF cover and remove jammed media. Load Document You have attempted to set up a job with document not loaded or incorrectly loaded in the DADF.Load document in DADF. If already loaded, remove and reload.
