Menu Setups on the Control Panel
Menu Set Up Procedure
Follow the procedure below to configure each setup menu.
1. Confirm that "Ready to Print" is displayed in the control panel.
2. Press the [Menu] key. "Menu 1: Setup>" displays in the control panel.
3. Press the [+] key or [–] key to select a setup item and press the [Enter] key.
• The settings will be confirmed. When setup items have a submenu, the display shifts to the next 
menu.
Notes:
•When a setup item has a submenu, ">" is displayed on the right side of the control 
panel’s LCD monitor.
•For the general outline of each setup item, refer to Panel Set Up Menu Overview

4. The setting in the blinking part of the control panel’s LCD monitor can be changed.
Press the [+] key or [–] key to change the setting.
5. To save the changed setting, press the [Enter] key.
• The setting is saved and the next setup item displays.
Note:
•If you press the [Cancel] key, [+] key, or [–] key without pressing the [Enter] key after 
changing a setting, the change will not be saved.

6. Press the [Cancel] key to exit from the setup.
• The previous setup menu displays.
• When the main menu is displayed, "Ready to Print" displays in the control panel.
Panel Set Up Menu Overview
This section explains the Panel set up menu of the printer. The Panel set up menu contains the 
following items.

•For details of each setup item, refer to Menu Overview.
Setup ItemDescription
Setup menuAllows configuration of various printer settings.
Te s t  P r i n t  m e n uPerforms Nozzle Check of the print head and setup list.
Adjust Print menuPrints test patterns used for Alignment when adjusting the printer for optimum 
print quality.
Cleaning menuPerforms print head cleaning.
Allows you to set the cleaning mode.
Selection menuAllows you to determine which Setup items will be displayed in the Setup menu.
Ve r s i o n  m e n uDisplays the version of the firmware.
Sleep Mode menuAllows Sleep Mode settings to be configured.

Operating from the Control Panel
This section explains various functions that can be performed from the control panel.
Note:
•For names and functions of each key, refer to Printer Control Panel.
Feeding Media
You can feed roll media to the position that you want. Follow the procedure below to feed media.
1. Confirm that "Ready to Print" is displayed in the control panel.
2. Check that the media loading lever is lowered.
3. Press and hold the [Forward↓] key or the [Backward↑] key.
• Media is fed forward or backward.
4. Release the [Backward↑] key or [Forward↓] key after feeding media to the desired position.
Media Feed Compensation
This section explains the Media feed compensation feature of the printer.
The feeding length depends on the media type. The following or similar problems may be seen in 
prints.
• Printed images overlap.
• White lines are printed on images.
• Banding is visible within images.
The accuracy of media feeding may be improved with the following methods.
1. Adjust the media feed compensation value.

2. Print the initial adjustment print.
Note:
•Media feed compensation and micro print adjustments reset to defaults each time 
"Initial Print" is run.
a. Press the [Enter] key. "Feed Length: 250 mm" displays in the control panel.
Notes:
•The length of media that is fed (i.e., the feed length) for initial adjustment printing is 
normally set at 250 mm.
•If you increase the feeding length, the accuracy of the Media feed compensation 
improves.
•To change the feeding length, press the [+] key or [–] key and change the set value.

• Initial adjustment printing starts.
• When the initial adjustment printing is complete, "Ready to Print" displays.
a. After the initial adjustment printing, cut the media.

4. Set up Initial Adjust Change.
a. Press the [+] key or [–] key to select "PF2: Initial Change."
b. Press the [Enter] key. "Init.: 250.0/250 mm" displays in the control panel.
c. Press the [+] key or [–] key and enter the measured value from Step 3.
