Handling the Printer Xerox 8254E / 8264E Color Wide Format Printer User Guide 4-8 Head Height Adjustment Using a high printing rate or using strongly-curved media can cause the print head to rub on the media. Changing the head height may allow you to avoid this problem. Follow the procedure below to change the head height. When raising the print head CAUTION: • If the head height adjustment lever is raised, high print quality is not guaranteed. • Do not open the front cover or change the head height during printing. Pressing the [Menu] key causes the first of seven main menus ("Menu1: Setup>") to appear in the control panel’s display. Pressing the [-] or [+] keys allows you to increment up or down to each of the other six main menus in the left column below. (The > character after a main menu name indicates that there are sub-menus under that main menu.) CAUTION: • The values displayed within the < > marks in each list are the factory default settings (i.e., the initial values) Main MenuDescription Setup menuAllows you to configure various printer settings. From the "Menu1: Setup>" display, press the [>] key. This takes you to the first sub-menu titled "Set1: Media Type." Pressing the [-] and [+] keys allows you to increment up or down to each of the Setup items in the left column below. Media Initial Menu Media WidthIf media detection is not performed during media initialization, this specifies the media width between the loading mark and the left edge of the media. If media detection is performed during media initialization, this displays the detected media width. •Pressing the [Enter] key shifts to the sub menu.
