Media Type Menu
Allows you to set up the media type on which to print.
User media menu
Allows you to set up the configuration of various settings for the media being used. Configurations can 
be set for thirty different media in the User media menu.
Notes:
•If media other than a recommended one is used, the following problems may occur.
–Media detection error
–Slant, snag and wrinkle of media
–Media jams
–Favorable print quality cannot be obtained due to blots, blurs or dirt.
–End detection of roll media cannot be performed.
•The problems caused by the use of unapproved media will not be covered by the 
warranty and repair expenses will be paid by the customer. For details, contact your local 
Xerox dealer.

Print Mode menu
Allows you to set up the settings for print quality (print mode) according to the usage of print data or 
print speed.
Note:
•When "Banner 1" or "Banner 2" is set in the Print Mode menu, PalettePrint is not 
displayed in the Test Print menu.

Pre-Heater Menu 
Allows you to set up the Pre-Heater temperature to preheat the media before printing. This control is 
active during printing operation.
Note:
•The preset temperature of the Pre-Heater varies, depending on the media.
For the preset temperature of the Pre-Heater, contact your local Xerox Sales 
Representative for a recommended media list.
Platen Heater menu 
Allows you to set up the Platen Heater temperature to warm up ink and improve print quality. This 
control is active during printing operation.
Note:
•The preset temperature of the Platen Heater varies, depending on the media.
For the preset temperature of the Platen Heater, contact your local Xerox Sales 
Representative for a recommended media list.

After Heater menu
The 8254E calls this the "Drier menu" but the items and steps are identical.
Allows you to set up the After Heater temperature to dry the printed media. This control is active 
during printing operation.
Note:
•The preset temperature of the After Heater varies, depending on the media.
For the preset temperature of the After Heater, contact your local Xerox Sales 
Representative for a recommended media list.
