111 Useful Information For assistance, please call: 1-800-211-PANA(7262) Problem The Answering System is on, but incoming messages are not recorded. “” is displayed and the ANSWER ON indicator flashes rapidly, and no new messages are recorded. You cannot access a mailbox from the base unit or the handset. You cannot access a mailbox from a touch tone phone. While recording a greeting message, the unit starts to ring and stops recording. During playback, incoming call tones are heard. ALL MAILBOX FULL Cause & Remedy •The recording time is set to “Greeting only”. Select “1 minute”, “2 minutes” or “3 minutes” (p. 27). •Memory is full. Erase some, or all, of the messages (p. 88). •Memory is full. Erase some, or all, of the messages (p. 88). •If more than one other user is using the handsets and base unit, you may not be able to access the mailboxes. Try again later. •If 2 other users are listening to messages in the mailboxes, you cannot access a mailbox. Try again later. •If the Answering System is responding to a call and another user is listening to messages in a mailbox, you cannot access a mailbox. Try again later. •Your handset is too far from the base unit. Walk closer to the base unit. •Make sure you enter the correct remote code (p. 95). • If “Enter Mailbox password” is heard, Mailbox 2 or 3 has the password. Enter the password (p. 83). •The Answering System may not respond if the tones are too short to activate the unit. Press each button firmly. • The Answering System is off. Turn it on (p. 98). •To answer the call, press (DIGITAL!SP-PHONE)or the line button. Start again from the beginning after hanging up. •To answer the call, if you are using the base unit, press the called line button. If you are using the handset, press the relevant soft key ( or ). 112 Troubleshooting General Problem The unit does not work. You cannot program items, such as the dialing mode. Cause & Remedy •Check the settings (p. 11–14). •Check whether the dialing mode setting is correct (p. 21). •Charge the battery fully (p. 14). • Clean the charge contacts and charge again (p. 15). •Install the battery properly (p. 14). •Unplug the AC adaptor to reset. Plug in, and try again. •The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (p. 31, 105). • Re-install the battery (p. 103) and charge it fully. •Programming is not possible while the unit is being used. •Do not pause for over 60 seconds while programming. •Walk closer to the base unit if you are using the handset. • Ö, Ñ, Üor ámay have been pressed. Press (OFF)or (STOP/EXIT)and try again. •If more than three other users are using the handsets, you may not be able to program with the handset. Try again later. •If the 2-Way Radio mode is on, turn it off to program with the handset (p. 74). Problem You cannot erase messages in the mailbox. When you play back messages or you turn the Answering system on, the unit announces the wrong day. Caller ID information does not display during message playback (p. 87, 92). Cause & Remedy •While another user is accessing the mailbox or a caller is leaving a message in the mailbox, you cannot erase messages in the same mailbox. •The date may be set wrong. Adjust the date (p. 20). •The caller information will not be displayed •– if a message is recorded by using (MEMO)(p. 89), •– if a call is transferred to a mailbox, and the caller leaves a message (p. 90), or •– if the Caller List is renewed and the caller information is erased (p. 40).

You charged the battery fully, but “Recharge battery” is still displayed and/or “” continues to flash, or “Charge for 15HRS” and “” are displayed. The CHARGE indicator light does not go out after the battery has been charged. If you cannot solve your problem Cause & Remedy •Charge the battery fully (p. 14). •The maximum of 8 handsets have already been registered to the base unit. •This base unit has the memory of the handset currently registered to another base unit. Erase the handset memory from the base unit. For KX-TG2740S base unit: (1) Press (FUNCTION), (2) Press(MUTE), (3) Enter “335#” and (4) Enter that handset number (1 to 8). •Charge the battery fully (p. 14). •The battery has been discharged.
