Navigator Directory 41 Navigator Directory Storing names and telephone numbers into the navigator directory For rapid access to frequently dialed numbers, the unit provides the navigator directory. You can store the names and telephone numbers using both the handset and base unit up to 50 entries in total. First program the entries, then see page 47 to make a phone call. Navigator Directory 42 To correct a mistake 1.Press {} to move the cursor to the incorrect character. 2.Press {CLEAR}. 3.Enter the correct character. NAME= STORE:PRESS SET 3Enter the name, up to 10 characters (see page 33 for instructions). REGISTERED DIRECTORY FULL LA hyphen or a space entered in a telephone number counts as two digits. To correct a mistake Press {} to move the cursor to the incorrect character/number, and then make the correction. To delete a character/number Press {} to move the cursor to the character/number you want to delete, and press {STOP}. LConfirm that there are no documents in the document entrance. 2.Press { {{ {e} }} } or { {{ {v} }} } to enter the directory. 3.Press { {{ {5} }} } repeatedly until any name with the initial “L” is displayed (see the character table, page 41). LTo search for symbols (not letters or numbers), press { {{ {* ** *} }} }. 4.Press { {{ {e} }} } until “LISA” is displayed. LTo stop the search, press { {{ {OFF} }} }. LTo make a call, press { {{ {TALK} }} } or { {{ {SP- PHONE} }} }. Using the base unit 1.Press { {{ {> >> >} }} }. Caller ID 49 Caller ID Caller ID service from your phone company This unit is compatible with the Caller ID service offered by your local telephone company. To use this feature, you must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Change the following ring setting to 2 or more rings beforehand. –TAD ring setting and FAX ring setting (feature #06, page 88) How Caller ID is displayed The calling party’s name or telephone number will be displayed after the first ring. You then have the option of whether or not to answer the call depending on the caller. The unit will automatically store the caller information (name, telephone number and the time of the call). You can view the caller information (page 50) and print the Caller ID list (page 111). Note: LIf the unit is connected to a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system, you may not receive the caller information. Consult your PBX supplier. LIf the unit cannot receive caller information, the following will be displayed: –The caller dialed from an area which does not provide Caller ID service: Base unit display:OUT OF AREA Handset display: Out of area –The caller requested not to send caller information: Base unit display:PRIVATE CALLER Handset display: Private caller –The caller made a long distance call: Base unit display:LONG DISTANCE Handset display:Long distance To confirm caller information using the Caller ID list The unit will store information for the most recent 30 callers. –To print manually, see page 111. –To print automatically after every 30 new calls, activate feature #26 (page 89). Visual Call Waiting (Call Waiting ID) Service If you hear a call-waiting tone during a conversation, the display will show the second caller’s information. Press { {{ {CALL WAIT} }} } to answer the second call. LThe first call is put on hold and you can answer the second call. LTo return to the first caller, press { {{ {CALL WAIT} }} } again. Note: LThe second caller’s information will not be displayed when: –the answering system is recording an incoming message, –an extension telephone on the same line is in use, or –you are sending or receiving a fax document. LPlease contact your telephone company for details and availability of this service in your area.
Caller ID 50 Viewing and calling back using caller information You can easily view caller information and call back. Important: L LL LCalling back will not be possible in the following cases: –The telephone number includes data other than numbers (i.e. * ** * or # ## #). –The caller information does not include a telephone number. Using the handset 1Lift the handset and press { {{ {e} }} } or { {{ {v} }} }. Example: 2 new calls V^ )=Directory 2Press { {{ {e} }} } to search from the most recent caller information. Press { {{ {v} }} } to search from the oldest caller information. LThe unit will start dialing automatically. Display while viewing When no calls have been received: No caller data To edit the telephone number for calling back Press { {{ {> >> >} }} } repeatedly after step 2.
