3Pull out the cassette in use.

Multi Purpose Tray
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the multi purpose tray.
1Remove the paper from the multi purpose tray.
2If paper is jammed inside, pull the paper toward you 
to remove.

Inside the Left Covers 1, 2 and 3
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams inside left cover 1, 2 or 3 when using the optional paper feeder.
1Pull up left cover 1 lever and open the left cover 1.
2Remove the paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
3Remove any paper in  the output section.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
4Press the specified position to close left cover 1.

Duplex Unit
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the duplex unit.
1Pull up left cover 1 lever and open the left cover.
2Remove the paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
3Lift up the duplex unit and remove the paper.
4Press the specified position to close left cover 1.

Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in duplex unit and cassette 1.
1Pull up left cover 1 lever and open the left cover.
2Remove any paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
3Lift duplex unit and remove any paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
4Pull out cassette 1 and remove the paper.

Paper Feed Unit
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the paper feed unit.
1Pull up left cover 1 lever and open the left cover 1.
2Remove any paper.
If the paper tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
3Open front cover.

4Turn the lower green knob (A1) clockwise.
5Remove any paper.
If you cannot remove the paper, proceed with the 
next step.
6Pull out paper feed unit (A2).
7Open paper feed unit cover (A3) and remove any 
paper.
8If the paper is torn, pull paper feed unit (A2) all the 
way out and lift it slightly to remove any paper.

9Remove the paper.
If you cannot remove the paper, proceed with the 
next step.
10Push paper feed unit (A2) back in place, and close 
the front cover.
11Press the specified position to close left cover 1.
Optional Document Processor
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the optional document processor.
1Remove any paper from the original tray.
2Open the document processor top cover.

If the original tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
4Lift up reverse unit.
5Remove the paper.
If the original tears, remove every loose scrap from 
inside the machine.
6Remove the original by turning the dial C as shown 
in the figure.
7Put reverse unit back in its original place and close 
the document proc essor top cover.
8Reload the originals on the document processor 
tray.
