bizhub 2152-10 2.3 First required registration and setting check2 2.3 First required registration and setting check To efficiently use functions of this machine, pre-register the time and One-Touch Dial Keys explained in this section. The report printing method and other settings are configured by factory defaults; however, they can be changed depending on usage situations. Check those settings before operating this machine. 2.3.1 Required registration Before using this machine for the first time, be sure to register the following items. -Current date and time -Time to switch to daylight-saving time -Local fax number -Line type -Line monitor sound -Communication line (external or extension line) Registering the following items allows you to effectively use this machine. We recommend that you register them. -Sender (Your name or number) -One-touch Dial -Speed dial -Program dial dReference For details on how to enter a character string required for settings, refer to [Users Guide Copy Operations]. 2.3.2 Checking the default settings The settings of each function are pre-configured by factory defaults. Tips -The sender name is printed at the leading edge of the sent original. When necessary, the original can be sent with no sender name added. 1Press the Utility key. 2Use +, to select [ADMIN. To realize a proper sending, match the type of your telephone line with the setting of this machine. Check the type of your telephone line, and specify the appropriate line type. 1Press the Utility key. 2Use +, to select [ADMIN. MANAGEMENT], and press the OK key. 3Enter the administrator number using the Keypad, and press the OK key. 4Use +, to select [COMM. When selecting [PBX], register the dial number for external or extension connection. Its sending and receiving are applicable only to G3-base remote machines. 1Press the Fax key. This changes to the fax mode and displays the fax screen. 2Load the original. %For details on how to load the original, refer to page 3-4. 3Specify a desired option for [QUALITY]. %For details on [QUALITY], refer to page 3-6. 4Enter a destination fax number. %For details on how to specify a destination, refer to page 3-7. 5Press the Start key. %This starts scanning and sending if the original has been loaded onto the ADF. bizhub 2153-4 3.2 Loading the original3 3.2 Loading the original The original loading methods are classified into two types: loading the original into the ADF and loading the original on the Original Glass. Load the original in the appropriate method to fit the original type. 3.2.1 Loading the original into the ADF 1Press the Fax key. The machine switches to the fax mode. 2Load the original into the ADF, turning up the side to be scanned. %Up to 70 sheets can be loaded for A3-size plain paper. %Do not load more than 70 sheets into the ADF at a time, and do not load the sheets up to the point where the top of the stack is higher than the , mark. Doing so would cause the original to jam or become spoiled, or cause the machine to fail. %If the original is 17 inches (432 mm) or more in length, only one sheet can be loaded. %When scanning a 2-sided original, load it into the ADF, turning the first page up. 3Adjust the Lateral Guide to the original size. %A custom-size original can be scanned up to the sizes shown below. If the memory does not contain any received data, polling RX data, and other data, approximately 1,024 sheets (A4 standard original) can be scanned into the memory at one time.
