bizhub 2157-22 7.5 Fax RX setting7 7.5 Fax RX setting Configure various receiving settings for fax communication. 7.5.1 Fax RX setting items No. Fax RX setting Contents 1 [MEMORY RX MODE] Select [ON] or [OFF] for memory RX. If you have received a confiden- tial document, you can save it in the memory once, and print out it at the specified time or when the memory RX mode is set to [OFF]. Specify the memory RX starting and ending times as well as the password to cancel memory RX. The specified starting and ending times are available every day until the memory RX mode is released. • The factory default is [OFF]. 2 [NO. of RINGS] Select the number of rings used for auto RX between 1 and 16. 3 [REDUCTION RX] Select [ON] to reduce, [OFF] to split, or [CUT] to cut a longer docu- ment than the print paper size. Specifying [CUT] cuts maximum 1 inch (24 mm). However, if a long text of 1 inch (24 mm) or more is sent, the [CUT] setting is not applied. In this case, the document is split into parts. • The factory default is [ON]. 4 [RX PRINT] Select [MEMORY RX] to start printing after all the original pages have been received, or [PRINT RX] to start printing when the first original page has been received. • The factory default is [MEMORY RX]. 5 [RX MODE] Select auto RX or manual RX. [AUTO RX]: Starts receiving data automatically after rings have sounded by the specified number of times. [MANUAL RX]: Does not switch to the fax mode automatically when the phone rings. Pick up the phone receiver of the external telephone or press the On Hook key to connect the line. Then, press the Start key to start the receiving operation. • The factory default is [AUTO RX]. 6 [FORWARD] Select whether to forward the received original. [ON]: Forwards the received original to the specified fax number or E- mail address. [ON (PRINT)]: Forwards the received original to a specified fax number or E-mail address, and also prints it out on this machine. [OFF]: Does not forward the received original. • The factory default is [OFF]. * To forward to an E-mail address, you need to install an optional Im- age Controller IC-209 or Network Card NC-504 in advance. 7 [FOOTER] Select whether to print receiving information (receiving date and time, number of pages, and other items) in the footer area of the re- ceived original. • The factory default is [OFF]. 8 [SELECT TRAY] Select a paper tray when printing the received original or communi- cation report. (You can specify a tray to prohibit paper feeding. ) • The factory default is [ENABLE]. 9 [CLOSED NETWORK] Select whether to receive a fax when the fax number of the sender does not match that registered in the one-touch dial or speed dial of this machine. This returns to the fax RX settings screen. 7.5.3 Releasing the memory RX mode The memory RX mode is released automatically at the ending time, and the received original is printed out. If the ending time is not specified or if you want to release the memory RX mode before the ending time, follow the steps shown below. 1Press the Utility key. 2Use +, to select [FAX RX OPERATION], and press the OK key. 3Use +, to select [MEMORY RX MODE], and press the OK key. 4Use +, to select [OFF], and press the OK key. %If a password is specified, go to the next step. %If a password is not specified, the received original in the memory is printed out, and the display returns to the fax RX settings menu. 5Enter a 4-digit password using the Keypad, and press the OK key. This utility can be used as an interface to control the machine remotely via the Web browser. Tips -To use PageScope Web Connection, Network Card NC-504 or Image Controller IC-209 must be installed on the machine.
