1.1This chapter describes the Diagnostics, Pro-Active Maintenance, and System Timers
portions of the Remote Management Software.
1.2The Diagnostics drop-down menu, which is only available in Real Time mode,
includes the following options:

2. CROSS POINT IMAGES
2.1The cross points are the main switching mechanism in the system. All calls and system
speech paths are routed through the system cross points. This diagnostic tool is used to verify
connections through the system and can be used to debug crosstalk problems and internal
switching failures.

answered is displayed. The screen has two tabs for Lines and Extensions. Statistics are shown
for the period since they were last cleared.

6.2A trace allows the system to output information on how the software is operating. The
system outputs its status as a trace record. This record shows the system status and allow diag-

To perform a system reset:
1.
In RealTime mode, select Diagnostics > System Reset.
2.If necessary, select either the Warm or Cold reset button.
NOTE: After resetting the system to default, please wait about 10 seconds before
entering System Programming to configure Extension Voice Boxes.

8. SYSTEM TESTS
8.1Using Remote Management Software, the system can be instructed to carry out a self-
test with a delay of 1-60 minutes. The results of the test can be read when complete. 
8.2The self-test checks the DTMF receivers and sender, dial-tone detector, CO Line seiz-
ing, and Caller ID detectors. If all three DTMF receivers fail to detect DTMF then the DTMF
