Align the printer
The product automatically aligns the printhead during the initial setup.
You might want to use this feature when the pr inter status report shows streaking or white
lines through any of the blocks of color or if you are having print quality issues with your
printouts.
To align the printhead from the control panel
1. Press  Setup.
2.Press the down arrow button to highlight  Tools, and then press  OK.

To print a printer status report
1.Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
2. Press  Setup.
3.Press the down arrow button to highlight  Tools, and then press  OK.
4. Press the down arrow button to highlight  Printer Status Report, and then press
OK .

To evaluate the print quality report
1.Check the ink levels shown on the page. If  a cartridge shows very low ink levels and
you find the print quality unacceptable, consider replacing that ink cartridge. Print
quality typically deteriorates as cartridges run out of ink.
NOTE: If the print quality report is not legible, you can check the estimated ink
levels from the control panel or HP Photosmart Software.

• If the picture is blurry or streaked, clean the printhead, align the printer, and thenprint this diagnostic page again.

quality issue, contact HP support for service.
• If the picture has a smear or scrape, check  to see if the paper is wrinkled. Insert
clean, wrinkle-free paper, and then print this diagnostic page again....

If the division between the colors is blurry, fuzzy, or the color seems mixed, clean the
printhead, and then print this diagnostic page again.

If you do not see any defects on the print quality report, then the printing system is working
correctly. There is no reason to replace supplies or have the product serviced, because
they are functioning properly. If you still have a print quality problem, here are some other
things you can check:
• Check the paper.

To clean the glass
1.Turn off the product, unplug the power cord, and raise the lid.
2. Clean the glass with a soft cloth or sponge slightly moistened with a nonabrasive
glass cleaner.
CAUTION: Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride on
the glass, since they can damage it. Do not place or spray liquid directly on the
glass. The liquid might seep under the glass and damage the product.
3. Dry the glass with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth to prevent spotting.

Clean the exterior
Use a soft cloth or slightly moistened sponge to wipe dust, smudges, and stains off the
case. The interior of the HP All-in-One does not require cleaning. Keep fluids away from
the control panel and the interior of the HP All-in-One.
CAUTION:To avoid damage to the exterior of the HP All-in-One, do not use alcohol
or alcohol-based cleaning products.

For a list of ink cartridge numbers, see the printed documentation that came with the
HP All-in-One. You can also use the software that came with the HP All-in-One to find
out the reorder number for all the ink cartridges. You can order ink cartridges online from
the HP Web site. Additionally, you can contact a local HP reseller to find out the correct
ink cartridge reorder numbers for your product and purchase ink cartridges.
