							Inlet-cable assembly
1.Remove the following components:
● Right cover. See

2. Remove one screw (callout 1), and then slide the media-feed guide toward the formatter side of
the product to remove it.

							3.Disconnect one connector (callout 2), and then pass the wire harness through the hole in the
chassis (callout 3).

4.Remove one screw (callout 4), squeeze two tabs, and then push the inlet cable assembly out of
the chassis.

							Registration assembly
1.Remove the following components:

2. Release one tab (callout 1), and then remove one gear (callout 2).

							3.Release two tabs (callout 3), and then  lift up on the guide to release it.
NOTE:The guide is inside the product on the formatter side.

							5.Remove three screws (callout 4) near  the guide removed in the previous step.
NOTE:The front-most screw is different than the  other two screws. Make sure this screw is
replaced in the mounting hole it is remo ved from when you reinstall the assembly.

6.Remove two screws (callout 5) at the other end of the assembly.

							7.Slightly raise the right end of the assembly, and then  slide it to the right and lift it up to release it.

8.Remove the assembly.
NOTE: The retainer (callout 6) at the right side of  the assembly is not captive. Do not lose the
retainer when the assembly is removed.

							Laser/scanner assembly
WARNING! ESD sensitive component.
CAUTION:Do not bend or fold the flat flexible cables (FFCs) during removal or installation. Also, do
not straighten pre-folds in the FFCs. You must make sure that all FFCs are fully seated in their
connectors. Failure to fully seat an FFC into  a connector can cause a short circuit in a PCA.
1.Remove the following components:
● Right cover. See

2. Disconnect one FFC (callout 1), and then remo ve the antistatic foam pad (callout 2).
CAUTION:Do not bend or fold the flat flexible cables (FFCs) during removal or installation. Also,
do not straighten pre-folds in the FFCs. You  must make sure that all FFCs are fully seated in their
connectors. Failure to fully seat an FFC into a connector can cause a short circuit in a PCA.

							3.Disconnect one connector (callout 3), remove four  screws (callout 4), and then remove the laser/
scanner assembly.

							Fuser
CAUTION:The fuser might be hot. Allow enough time for  the fuser to cool after the product power is
turned off.
NOTE: The cartridge-door assembly should be in the closed position when the fuser is removed to
make sure that the fuser-drive gear is correctly aligned for reinstallation.
