The front-panel menu is I/O Setup > Card Set-up. To Change the I/O Time-out SettingSome software applications do not write a file terminator at the end of a file. In this case, the printer does not know when the file is complete and will wait for more data until the end of the “I/O Time-out” period. By default, this period is 30 minutes. You can change the time-out setting in the front-panel menu (Set-Up > I/O setup > I/O Timeout) to as little as 30 seconds.

There are however rare cases caused by combinations of applications and third par ty drives that produce Postscript files that the printer cannot automatically detect what type of encoding has been used. Whenever this happens the printer will display a error message on the front panel. To print the file you must first check what type of encoding has been selected with your driver and then make the corresponding selection with the Set-Up menu PS settings option. In addition to Automatic encoding two other encoding types are available: ASCII and Binary.
