2.5    Conducting a Wavelength Scan   
 
(1)  There are two methods of starting the scan.     
 
(a)  Select the Measure command from the 
Spectrophotometer menu.   
 
(b)  Click the     (measurement) button on the 
measurement toolbar.   
For halting the measurement midway, click the   
button on the toolbar.   
 
(2)  Upon clicking the          button, the window shown in   
Fig. 2-10 appears when using a sample table.    Now click 
Yes.

(4)  When automatic saving is set, data will be saved after 
completion of measurement.    Upon opening its file, a data 
processing window will appear as in Fig. 2-12.     
Unless automatic saving is set, select the Save As 
command from the File menu and save data in file.

(a) Spectrum  
The spectrum of a measured sample is traced.   
 
(b) Peak table  
Peak wavelength, peak height and valley wavelength

2.6  Data Printout  
 
Printout can be provided even when the function for automatic 
printout after measurement is not used.    The following two 
procedures are available.   
 
(1)  Select the Print command from the File menu.    Or click the   
          print button on the toolbar.    The field active on the 
data processing window (e.g., (a) in Fig. 2-12) will be 
printed.    What is displayed by clicking the Print Preview 
command in the File menu will be printed.

(2)  Select the Report command in the Data menu.    Or click 
the     button on the toolbar.  The Print Preview window 
will appear, so click Print.    Select the items to be printed 
at the Report tab under Properties.

repeat measurement or in overlaying, then change

3.2    Creating an Analysis Method   
 
Set the analytical conditions (method) prior to measurement.   
From the Edit menu, select the Method command or click the       
button.    The dialog box shown in Fig. 3-2 will appear.

Here, select “Time scan.”    For Wavelength scan, 
Photometry and 3-D Scan, refer to Sections 2, 4 and 5.

(e) Sampling  
• Standard  
When sample is exchanged manually.   
 
(f) Comments  
Enter a description or notes on measuring conditions.   
 
(g) Load  
Click this button to read out saved analytical conditions.   
The file opening window appears upon clicking, so 
select an analytical conditions file.   
 
(h) Save  
By clicking this button after setting the parameters for 
all five tabs, the analytical conditions are saved.   
Clicking this button overwrites parameters on the 
existing ones....

(a) Data mode  
Select one of the following data modes.   
The Luminescence mode is for measuring 
luminescence in the biological/chemical field and only 
the sample side signal is acquired without performing 
ratio photometry.   
If phosphorescence life is shorter than 20 ms, 
“Phosphorescence short life” should be selected.     
In this case, unit time and measuring time are 
automatically set to ms and 20 ms.     
• Fluorescence  
• Luminescence  
•  Phosphorescence (only with Model F-4500)...
