4 Press ▲ or ▼ to select " Yes", and then press the OK button. The paper is ejected from the front of the printer. Important•If the trailing edge of a sheet is not ejected, pull the sheet out, keeping the front edge level. Accidentally removingthe sheet at an angle may scratch the printed surface. Removing heavyweight sheets from the front paper feed slot 1 On the Tab Selection screen of the Control Panel, press ◀ or ▶ to se- lect the Paper tab ( ). Note •If the Tab Selection screen is not displayed, press the Menu button.2 Press the OK button. The Paper Menu is displayed. 3 Press ▲ or ▼ to select Eject Paper , and then press the OK button. 4 Press ▲ or ▼ to select " Yes", and then press the OK button. As the printer ejects the paper, the paper is stopped momentarily with the trailing edge still held in the rollers. 5 Press the OK button. The sheet can now be removed. 6 Remove the sheet, keeping the front edge level as you pull it out. Important•If POP Board is accidentally removed at an angle, it may scratch the printed surface.7 Press the OK button. Important•Always remove the sheet before pressing the OK button. To use the Output Stacker, push down Basket Rod #1 (b) fully toward the front, keeping it even on the left and right so that Basket Rod #2 (a) is not slanted. The Output Stacker can hold one sheet. When printing multiple pages, remove each sheet after it is printed. Use the Output Stacker in the regular position (a). The stacker may also be used in the extended position (b) for some types of paper. The extended position enables easy removal after printing. Using the Output Stacker Using the Output Stacker This topic describes how to use the Output Stacker. Use the Output Stacker in position (1) when storing printed documents. When the Output Stacker is not used, fold the stacker to stow it in position (2). Important•The Output Stacker can hold paper up to 36 inches (914.4 mm) long.•The number of sheets that can fit in the Output Stacker is one sheet. When printing multiple pages, remove each sheet afterit is printed.•Before printing banners or other long documents, tap the Output Stacker. We recommend that you spread a clean cloth orpaper on the floor and select Eject as the cutting method for rolls to prevent the printed surface from becoming dirty orscratched. Settings for Canon genuine paper and Canon feed confirmed paper are provi- ded by Canon in these media information files. Note •Canon genuine paper and Canon feed confirmed paper are detailed in the Paper Reference Guide. Any other paper is calledcustom paper. The Media Configuration Tool allows you to perform the following tasks. • When supported paper has been newly added to the printer, you can add that media type to the printer control panel and printer driver by using the media information file provided by Canon. • You can customize Canon genuine paper and feed confirmed paper media information files to create a media in- formation file for custom paper (paper that is neither Canon genuine paper or feed confirmed paper), and add that media type to the printer control panel and printer driver. Furthermore, you can also import the created media information file into other computers and printers, and add media types to the printer drivers and printers of the computers where the data was imported. • You can rearrange lists of the types of paper on the printer control panel and in printer driver dialog boxes and rename them, in addition to other functions. Important•Normally, the Media Configuration Tool is installed and the media information is configured when you install the printer driverfrom the User Software CD-ROM. Use this software if you want to add new media information or edit existing media informa-tion.•Administration of paper information using the Media Configuration Tool should be performed by the printer administrator. Installation Procedures Installation Procedures The Media Configuration Tool installation screen appears when you start the installation of a new version of the Media Configuration Tool. The installation procedure started from this screen is described below. Important•If the printer driver is installed from the User Software CD-ROM, the Media Configuration Tool is also installed and the mediainformation is also configured. Therefore, the following procedure does not normally need to be performed. To install theMedia Configuration Tool without using the User Software CD-ROM, such as when you have downloaded a new version ofthe Media Configuration Tool from the Canon website, use the following procedure.•You must be logged in as Administrator when installing software in Windows.1 Start the Media Configuration Tool installer. Click the Next button. 2 The next screen presents selections for the country or area where the printer is used. 3 The License Agreement is displayed. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement and click the Next button. 4 The Choose Destination Location screen appears. Select the destination folder then click the Next button. 5 The Ready to Install the Program screen appears. Click the Install button. 6 All the required files are copied to your computer and InstallShield Wizard Complete screen appears. Click the Finish button. This completes the installation of Media Configuration Tool. Starting Method Starting Method Follow the procedure below to start Media Configuration Tool. From the start menu go to All Programs > iPFxxxx Media Configuration Tool > iPFxxxx Media Configuration Tool . Media Configuration Tool main window is displayed. • Add Genuine Paper button When this button is clicked, the Edit Media Types dialog box is displayed, which allows you to add media informa- tion files released by Canon to the printer control panel and printer driver. You can also change names, toggle between displaying and hiding, and delete added media types. You can also change the display order of Canon genuine paper and custom paper. Refer to Editing Media Type Information for Genuine Paper and Feed Confirmed Paper →P.570 for details on Add Genuine Paper . • Add and Edit Custom Paper button When this button is clicked, the Add and Edit Custom Paper dialog box is displayed, which allows you to added custom paper to the printer control panel and printer driver. Refer to Using Paper Other than Genuine Paper and Feed Confirmed Paper →P.581 for details on Add and Edit Custom Paper . • Link to Support Information button Opens imagePROGRAF Support Information . You can check information such as the latest information for the product and software version upgrade information. • Link to User Manual Button Click this button to display the User's Guide. This function requires that the User's Guide be installed on your com- puter. Editing Media Type Information for Genuine Paper and Feed Confirmed Paper Editing Media Type Information for Genuine Paper and Feed Confirmed Paper To add genuine paper and feed confirmed paper to the printer control panel and printer driver and edit the media type information, click the Add Genuine Paper button in the Media Configuration Tool main window. Confirm the printer, where media type information is to be updated, to be displayed in Printer in the Select Printer dialog box, and then click the Next button. Communication with the printer begins. Important•Do not attempt to print or turn the printer off while the program is communicating with the printer. The Edit Media Types dialog box is displayed.
