How to Print
Follow the steps below to print on custom-size (long) paper.
1Adjust the paper guide to the width of the paper 
that you are about to use.
2With the printed side facing down, put the paper 
into the multi-purpose tray so that it lightly touches 
the feeding slot.
3Start printing from your program after putting the 
paper in the MP Tray. 
Choose the items for Printer Driver Settings (for

Duplex Printing
You can perform duplex printing with the printer, using one of the following steps. 
■For plain paper or thick paper, whether fed from a paper tray or the multi-purpose tray, duplex 
printing is carried out automatically if you set this in the printer driver upon executing the print 
command.
■For thicker paper or glossy paper, you can print on the back surface of the paper from the 
multi-purpose tray as long as the front surface of the paper...

Duplex Printing
To print on both sides of plain paper, set the paper into the paper tray or multi-purpose tray.
Follow the steps below to print on both sides of plain paper.
1If you are using plain paper (64 - 105 g/m2 (17 - 28 lb)) 
→ a) put the paper lengthwise into the paper tray.
If you are using thick or thicker paper (106 - 216 g/m
2 (29 - 57 lb))

Buttons
You can control the basic printer operations and change various printer settings with seven buttons

The operations depend on which screen is displayed (print screen or menu screen).

List of Menu Items
This section describes the various settings you can change in each main menu.
When printing, it is possible to set some options in the menu screens from your computer. If the computer 
settings differ from those on the printer, the computer settings take precedence.

Job Timeout
The Job Timeout setting causes the printer to stop processing print data if it takes more than the preset 
length of time for the remaining data to be received by the printer. When a job time-out occurs, the printer 
only prints the data it received up to the time-out.
■5 to 300 seconds (default: 30 seconds) 
Set the job time-out between 5 and 300 seconds. 
■OFF
