Bizfon Owner’s Guide57 Appendix A Multi-Language System Setup Choosing your Preferred Lan- guage(s)Your Bizfon 680 is shipped from the factory with one of the following two language con- figurations: • English-only • Multi-language (English/French) NOTE: This section is only applicable for the Multi- Language Bizfon 680. The options below do not apply to the English-only Bizfon 680. The Multi-Language Bizfon allows you to select a primary and secondary language at the system level. It also allows you to select a language for each individual extension. Choosing Sys- tem-Level Lan- guage PreferencesYou can change the language configuration at the system level. For example, your cus- tomers might be primarily French-speaking, but some of your customers are English- speaking, and you would like to give them the option of hearing the Bizfon speak to them in English. You can, in this case change the language configuration to be French Pri- mary, English Secondary. To change the system-level preferred lan- guage configuration:
Appendix A Multi-Language System Setup 58 Bizfon, Inc. 1. Pick up any BizTouch telephone exten- sion and press the SETTINGS button. If using a non-BizTouch telephone, press to enter Settings. 2. Dial extension 200 to access General Settings. 3. Enter the system password, if required, then press . 4. Press for Language Options. 5. Follow prompts to choose one of the lan- guage configurations above. Choosing Per- sonal Lan- guage PreferencesYou can change the language configuration for each individual extension. For example, your office may have three francophone sales representatives, and one anglophone sales representative. The anglophone employee may prefer the option of hearing the Bizfon speak to them in English at their extension. You can in this case change the language configuration to be English-only for that specific extension. To change the language preference for an individual extension: 1. Pick up any BizTouch telephone exten- sion and press the SETTINGS button. If using a non-BizTouch telephone, press to enter Settings. 2. Dial your extension number, or for this extension. 3. Enter your password, if required, then press .

Follow prompts to set the Current Lan- guage as desired. Other Lan- guage Consid- erationsRecording a System Greeting The Automated Attendant System Greetings for both Day mode and After Hours mode come pre-set from the factory. If you wish to create your own bilingual Sys- tem Greeting, or customize the greeting in any other way, see “Automated Attendant Greetings” on page 15 for instructions to do so. You may even wish to have a greeting as short as this: “Thank you for calling. To continue in English, press . Pour continuer en francais, faites le .” In this case, you would make use of the Informational Message feature to create indi- vidual-language greetings. Informational Messages Informational messages can also be created so that each message is bilingual, or they can be configured so that each is in a specific language.
Appendix A Multi-Language System Setup 60 Bizfon, Inc. For example, your System Greeting may contain the following text for giving direc- tions to the office in two languages: “For directions to the office, press . Pour vous rendre a nos bureaux, faites le .”
Bizfon Owner’s Guide61 Appendix B Startup/Test Button Using the Star- tup/Test ButtonAfter connecting your telephone lines and telephones, you can use the Startup/Test but- ton to confirm that your Bizfon 680 is prop- erly set up. 1. Press the blue Startup/Test button in the center of the Bizfon 680. You will hear: “Welcome to the Bizfon diagnostics. Note that during the diagnostics, the Bizfon may not be used for calls. To run diagnostics on incoming telephone lines and telephones, press the button again.” CAUTION! Any calls in progress on extensions or CO lines will be disconnected while diagnostics are running. 2. Push the button again. You will hear: “Now running the incoming telephone lines test. The LEDs for each incoming line flash if a plugged-in line is detected. Each line is retested every few seconds. To end this test and continue with the voice quality test, press the button again.” While the diagnostics run, you should verify that all incoming lines have blinking LEDs, which indicate that they are functioning cor- rectly.
Appendix B Startup/Test Button 62 Bizfon, Inc. 3. Push the button again. You will hear: “Incoming telephone lines test complete. Now running the voice quality test. Please wait for the test to complete.” This test will characterize your phone lines and automatically select parameters to opti- mize audio quality for your installation. The test normally takes about two minutes to complete. You will hear a prompt as the test is running, letting you know that it is in progress. Upon completion, you will hear: “Voice quality test complete. Now running the extensions test. Extensions will ring con- secutively until the button is pushed again.” This test verifies that all physical extensions are connected to the Bizfon correctly. 4. Push the button one last time. You will hear: “Extensions test complete.” Finally the system will announce that it is ready, and announce the current time and date. Your Bizfon 680 is now fully tested and ready for use!.
Bizfon Owner’s Guide63 Appendix C Bizfon 680 Installation Considerations Mounting Bracket It is recommended that you do not use your Bizfon 680 without the mounting bracket attached, whether mounted and attached to a wall or when resting on a table or desk top. Attaching the BracketBefore attaching the bracket, you may want to write down the serial number that is on the back of the Bizfon 680 for registration pur- poses. 1. Hold the Bizfon 680 in your left hand with the power cord facing toward you and your thumb on the blue button.

Hold the bracket in your right hand, with the side with the large rectangular open- ing facing the back of the Bizfon 680 and align the four tabs on the mounting bracket with the four slots on the bottom of the Bizfon 680, as shown below.

Apply downward pressure with your thumb to the portion of the mounting bracket that protrudes into the space where the Voice Vault option slot is located, as shown below. 2. While applying downward pressure, simultaneously slide the bracket in the direction of the power cord. 3. Pull the bracket away from the back of the Bizfon 680.
Appendix C Bizfon 680 Installation Considerations 66 Bizfon, Inc. Wall Mount 1. Position the Bizfon 680 within four (4) feet of a power outlet. 2. Attach the bracket to the wall vertically, using the enclosed screws, or screws and drywall anchors, as appropriate to the type of wall on which you are mounting the Bizfon 680, as shown in the figures above. When using the anchors on dry- wall, pre-drill a 3/16” pilot hole. When using the anchors on concrete, pre-drill a 1/4” pilot hole. 3. Lock the Bizfon into place on the bracket, by positioning the Bizfon 680 over the bracket and sliding it down onto the tabs of the bracket, as shown in the figure under “Attaching the Bracket”.
