 Engine oil also lubricates the clutch and the 
wrong oil types or additives could cause 
clutch slippage. Therefore, do not add any 
chemical additives or use engine oils with a 
grade of CD or higher and do not use oils la-
beled “ ENERGY CONSERVING II”.
 Do not allow foreign materials to enter the 
crankcase.
4. Start the engine, warm it up for several min- utes, and then turn it off.
5. Check the engine oil level again.

1. Remove: Left side cowling
Refer to  “GENERAL CHASSIS ” on page 4-1.

Handling notes for coolant
Coolant is potentially harmful and should be 
handled with special care.
WARNING

 If coolant splashes in your eyes, thorough-
ly wash them with water and consult a doc-
tor.
 If coolant splashes on your clothes, quickly 
wash it away with water and then with soap 
and water.
 If coolant is swallowed, induce vomiting 
and get immediate medical attention.

ner and outer cables.
