RECORDING CONVERSATIONS
IMAGEN enables you to record your telephone conversa-
tions. You must have the system administrator pro
gram a 
desi
gnated [CALL RECORD] button to operate on your 
telephone set. This feature is not available on sin
gle line 
telephones.
A conversation you have recorded is stored in your mailbox 
as a new messa
ge. You can, therefore, transfer or copy the 
recorded conversation to another mailbox or mailbox

SCREENING INCOMING CALLS
The call screening feature allows you to screen external 
calls arrivin
g at your extension through the IMAGEN Auto-
mated attendant. You hear who is callin
g you and decide 
which calls you want to answer, and which callers you 
would prefer to leave a messa
ge. 
You must ask the system administrator to pro
gram this fea-
ture to be operative at your extension, and to assi
gn one of

themselves and decide if you want to accept the call.

MESSAGE MONITORING AND CALL 
INTERCEPTION
The message monitoring feature allows you to monitor 
messa
ges being recorded in your mailbox for you, by 
external callers. When messa
ge monitoring is activated for 
your telephone set, each of your calls will be answered by 
the automated attendant, who will su
ggest that the caller 
leave you a messa
ge. You can hear the message while it is 
bein
g recorded and decide whether you prefer to intercept 
and answer...

To intercept the call
1. To answer the call:
• pick up the receiver;
or
 
• press [SPKR].
or
2. To reject the call

• dial any key other than [SPKR];

• simply refrain from answerin

DIALING ASSISTANCE 
FOR OUTSIDE CALLERS
Outside callers who do not know the extension number of 
the person they wish to reach have three different types of 
assistance available to them: 
Dial by Name
Enables them to reach the person by dialin
g a few letters of 
their name.
Extension assistance
Plays recorded announcements of extension numbers.
Single digit dialing
Allows the caller to reach a prepro
grammed extension by 
dialin
g one digit.
