    ABOUT THIS USER GUIDE …
    FLEXI BLE BUTTO NS -- M os t of the  f eature s described in this
    user guide ma y be  s et up on a flexible button for one-butt on
    access . (Refe r  to 
    “Flexible Button Programming” on page 34.)
    For  certain  fea tures  t o  operate  properly,  a  flexible
    butt on  MU ST  be pre-pro gr ammed. A  “F l e x  B tn”
    symbol has  been  used  to indicat e thos e fea tures.
    FLEXI BLE NUMB ERING -- T his feat ure a llows the s yste m
    numbering  plan to be modified, as we ll as the len gth of t he
    feat ure acces s  codes  (2-4 dig it s).  This  user g uide des cribes  t he
    following fe atures  using  the  sys tem  default  codes  (3-digits ).
    Con sult wit h your sys tem  adm inistra tor if you have quest ions
    regarding  the n umbering  pla n for your s ystem .

    Using Account Codes
    When connected to a n outside  line  call:
    1. Pr es s t he  pre-programmed A CCO UNT  COD E f le xib le

    2. Dial the account code up  to 12 digits  (the other pa rty  will 
    not hea r  the  digits  be ing  dialed).

    must be entered  to return to the  call.

    Verified Account Codes
    To  enter a n account code prior  to  a CO ca ll:
    1. Pr es s t he  pre-programmed A CCO UNT  COD E f le xib le  
    but ton  bef ore  acce ssi ng  a CO  l ine .
    †Dial the acco unt  code,  up to 12  digits.  If the  account 
    code  matches  a v erif ied account code, a n intercom 
    dial  tone will be returned. Otherwise,  an error tone 
    will be received.
    †If  account  code  i s l es s t han  1 2 d igi t s, a n as te ri sk  [6] 
    must  b e e nt er ed  bef ore  t he C O l i ne  ca n be  a c ce ss ed.
    2. Acce ss  the  out si de  CO  li ne  or  di al  th e LC R  code  and  dia l 
    the desired number.
    Answering Machine Emulation
    Whe n a call  i s sen t to your voi ce m ail box,  you ca n pr e ss a pre-
    programmed flexible button to listen to the  caller leaving the 
    voi c e m ail  me ss age . I f y ou de c ide  t o s pea k wi th  th e c a ll er , y ou 
    can p re ss  th e pre-programmed bu tt o n to  be c o nnec t ed  t o  t he 
    cal ler.
    Not ific ati on Method s
    There a re two method s of  notification , a  Ring  Mode  or  a 
    Speaker  Mode. These methods  are controlled  by the type of 
    flexible button assigned on  the telephone.
    The  pre-programmed button type (654+0=Ring Mode, 
    654+1=S pkr  Mode ) de fi nes  the o per ation  mode . An i ncomi ng 
    CO  cal l r in gs at  a  st at ion a nd for war ds  (exce pt  busy  ty pe)  to t he  
    st at ion’ s VM  mai lbox .

    The  pre-programmed f le xib le  but t on fl ashe s  at  4 80  i pm r e d 
    while the caller is  in  your  mailbox. You  can press  the flashing 
    button  and  the a udio  is  broadca st over  the s pea ker of  the 
    key set .  The  MUTE  ke y i s  als o e nabl ed  and  th e L ED  li ght s s oli d 
    re d. Whe n t he ca ll  i s r i ngin g t he st at ion in the  r ing mode , t he  
    di spl ay s hows:
    Sp eak er  Mo de
    The VM message is broadcast over the  speaker.  The MUTE key 
    is enabled  and  the LED lights solid red. When the station is 
    moni tor in g t he  c all er  i n VM ,  t he d is pla y s hows.
    To leave caller in VM a nd turn off speaker:
    1. Press the ON/OFF button.
    2. Then perform one of  the f ollowing  options :
    †Continue to listen to the  message being left without 
    ta ki ng ac ti o n at  t he  ke yse t.  A fte r  le avi ng t he  VM  
    mes sag e, t he pre-programmed button returns to solid 
    re d a nd the  ke yset r etur ns  to  idl e.
    -or -
    †Press the MUTE key to talk to the  party leaving the 
    message.  The  station  is still in the  CONF mode at  this 
    point  and  the caller can  hear the VM and you.
    -or -
    †Press the flexible button to  pick  up the call. When the 
    call is  picked  up, the voice mail system  disconnects 
    fro m t he  call .

    911 Feature (Attendant Alert)
    When enabled, and a  flexible button has been programmed 
    (programming code = 608),  the 911  Alert feature affects a 
    flashing f le xib le  button and  aud ible  tone  to notify the  
    Attendant of a 911 call in progress.
    Whe n a  91 1  cal l  is  be ing  made  fr om  a us er  st at i on, t he  91 1  
    ALERT  flexible button rapidly flashes on  the Attendant station, 
    and  an a udi ble  t one  emi t s f rom  the  A t te ndant’s  sp eak er . T he 
    di spl ay s hows:
    To turn off the alert:
    Press the 911 ALERT flexible button.
    †The display and alert continues  until this  occurs, then the 
    di spl ay r et ur ns t o n orma l,  and  the  a udib le  al ar m ce ase s.
    †The LED continues to flash until all 911 calls are viewed.  If 
    there is more than one 911 call logged, press the 911 
    ALERT  button  to  advance to view each call in the  log.
    †Once all calls have been reviewed, the  911 ALERT flexible 
    button  will light solid red.  All 911 calls are logged  on the

    Attendant Override
    When Attendant Override is allowed, Attendant(s) stations may 
    ove rr id e or  ca ll  st at io ns t hat  a re  e it her  bu sy or  i n D o Not  
    Di st urb .
    †If  t he  At te ndan t ca ll s  a st at i on t hat  i s bu sy on  a C O ca ll  
    and  wishes to alert them of a waiting  call:

    Attendant Unavailable (Alternate Position)
    When the Attendant station is in the unavailable mode, the

    The following  process is based on  the three programmed 
    Attendant stations.

    -If the se c on d At te ndan t pla ce s the ir  p ho ne in 
    unavai l abl e mod e, t he third At te nda nt r ec e ive s r ec a ll  
    and dia l “0” ca lls.

    Disable Outgoing CO Access

    1. Lift the  ha ndse t or pre ss  the ON/OFF button.
    2. Di al  [6 02 ]. A c o nfir mat i o n t o ne so u nds .
    3. De pre ss  the  line  button(s ) of  the  CO Line (s)  to b e 
    disabled.  A confirmation  tone  sou nds;  th e CO L INE  
    but ton( s) LE D  fla she s.
    4. R epe at  t he  st eps  for  di sa bl ing  to  re -ac t i vate  t he  CO  
    Line(s ).

    CO Lines Off-Net Fw d - Incoming (via Speed Dial)
    CO  Li nes  O ff-N et  For war d  fea tur e  le ts  t he  fir st  At te ndan t 
    station  forward incoming CO calls to an off-net location.
    In  a s peed  dia l  bin,  store the numb er of  the off -net  location 
    where calls are  to  forward. (Follow instructions  for  storing 
    st at ion  or  sys te m s pee d di al  num ber s. )

    Press the CO LINE  button.
    3. Dial [#] . A confirmation  tone  s ounds.
    When CO lines are off-net forwarded,  these lines  display 
    unique  flash rates at the  Attendant  station.

    Day/Night/Special Mode

    default) button once to activate Night mode (LED solid).
    †Press the button again  to  activate the  Special mode  (LED 
    flashes at  240 ipm).
    Setting System Time and Date
    The  fi r st  at te ndan t  st ati o n  may s et  s yst em  ti me  and  dat e .
    1. Di al  [6 92 ].
    2. Enter time and date in the  following fo rmat: 
    YYMMDDHHMM
    When the  correct number of  digits  are entered, a 
    confirma tion tone  sounds .

    or Entry in Local  Number/Name Translation Table

    To select a different entry in the Directory List:
    1. Enter the  three-digit entry number (000-199), or dial [
    6] 
    to scroll up (next entry) through the list, or dial [#] to scroll 
    down (previous entry) through the  list.
    2. Press the TRANS button to select the  entry.
    To enter the intercom numb er to associate to  th e name:
    1. Press the TRANS button.
    2. Enter the  three-digit station  intercom nu mber.
    3. Pr es s t he S PE ED b u tt o n to  s ave e ntr y. A  c o nfir mat i o n to ne  
    sounds , di sp lay  upda te s.
    4. Pr es s H OLD,  u se  [
    6] or [#] to s croll to nex t e ntry.
    To clear an entry:
    1. Dial th e D irectory L is t p rogram  code  [693].
    2. Select the desired  entry using  the preceding procedure.
    3. Pr es s t he  FL AS H bu tt o n.
    4. Press the SPEED  button. A confirmation  tone sounds and 
    the entry is erased.
    To ente r or change  the curre nt name  s hown on the  dis play:
    1. Press the MUTE button.
    2. Enter the  name (up to  24 characters may be entered) by 
    using the keys.  The display u pdates as the  name is 
    ent er ed  (r efe r  to Figure 1: Dial-By-Name Key Pad Map
