126 Calendar Schedule up to eight events, with reminders, so that you can track Set alarms for events to be alerted of an upcoming event. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ Calendar. 2. On the Calendar screen, use the Directional Key to highlight a date on the calendar, then press the Center Select Key VIEW to display the day’s events. 3. Press the Right Soft Key Options to choose: Wee k ly View/Monthly View: View the current week or month. : Specify a date to view. : Delete all events from your calendar. Erase All Old: Delete all past events. : Enter criteria to find an event. Eco Day List: View a list of Eco dates, such as Earth Day. Adding a new event 1.From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ Calendar. 2. On the Calendar screen, use the Directional Key to highlight a date on th e calendar, then press the Center Select Key VIEW to display the day’s events. 3. Press the Left Soft Key New to add a new event. On the NEW EVENT screen, use the Directional Keys to highlight each field, then enter details with the keypad: : Enter the name of the event. : Enter the start time. Press the Directional Key to set am or pm. : Enter the end time. Press the Directional Keys to set am or pm. Start Date: Enter the start date for the event. : Enter the end date for the event. : Press the Left Soft Key Set to set the frequency. : Press the Directional Key to set an alert to sound before the event. : Press the Directional Key to set a reminder setting.
Tools 127 Alert Tone: Press the Left Soft Key Set to set a tone for reminders. : Press the Directional Key to enable or disable Vibrate notification. 4. Press the Center Select Key SAVE to save the event. Viewing an Event 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ Calendar. 2. From the Calendar screen, find an event using one of these methods: Use the Directional Key to highlight a date on the calendar, then press the Center Select Key VIEW to display the day’s events. Press the Right Soft Key Options, then select Go To Date and enter a date to view. Press the Right Soft Key Options, then select Search. Enter criteria, then press the Center Select Key SEARCH. 3. While viewing an event, press the Right Soft Key Options for event options: : Send the event as an attachment to a Message, or by Bluetooth. : Create a duplicate of the event. : Return to the Calendar view.
128 Alarm Clock Set up to three alarms, to go off once, or recur periodically at a specific time. Once set, alarms are easy to change or turn off. Note: Alarms scheduled within the next 24 hours will cause the Alarm icon to appear in Event Status on the Home screen. Setting An Alarm 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ Alarm Clock. 2. For the first alarm you set, press the Center Select Key ADD. 3. For subsequent alarms, press the Left Soft Key Add . 4. Use the Directional Key to highlight fields to enter alarm details: : Use the Directional Key to toggle the alarm On or Off. : Enter the time for the alarm. Use the Directional Key to select am or pm. : Press the Left Soft Key Set to set the frequency of the alarm. : Press the Left Soft Key Set to enable, and set the frequency of, snooze delays. : Use the Directional Key to select a ringtone. 5. When you finish entering information, press the Center Select Key SAVE . Disabling an Alarm You can turn an alarm on and off without changing any other settings. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ Alarm Clock. 2. Use the Directional Key to highlight the alarm you wish to disable. 3. Press the Right Soft Key Options, then select Tu r n Off .
Tools 129 Erasing an Alarm 1.From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ Alarm Clock. 2. Use the Directional Key to highlight the alarm you wish to disable. 3. Press the Right Soft Key Options and select Erase, or Erase All to remove all alarms. Stopwatch Measure lap times and total elapsed time. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ Stopwatch. 2. Press the Center Select Key START to start timing. 3. Press the Left Soft Key Lap to record lap times. 4. Press the Center Select Key STOP to stop timing. 5. Press the Right Soft Key Reset to erase recorded times.
130 World Clock View the local time, and the time in cities around the world.1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ World Clock. 2. Choose a time to view wi th one of these methods: Use the Directional Key to scroll through the time zones around the world. Press the Left Soft Key Cities to select from a list of 45 supported cities. Select a city and press the Center Select Key OK to view your entry. 3. To set the displayed time as your local time, press the Center Select Key OK. 4. To enable or disable Daylight Savings Time for the displayed times, press the Right Soft Key to toggle between DST On and DST Off. Notepad Create, store and edit notes in Notepad. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ Notepad. 2. To add a new note, press the Left Soft Key Add, then enter the note. For more information, see “Entering Text” on page 61. 3. When you’re finished ente ring the note, press the Center Select Key SAVE.

Press the Directional Key to highlight a note, then press the Right Soft Key Options to choose options: : Modify the highlighted note. : Delete the highlighted note. : Mark multiple notes for deletion. Press the Center Select Key Mark to mark a specific note to be erased or press the Right Soft Key Mark All. Press the Left Soft Key Done to delete the notes. : Locks or unlocks the entry to prevent deletion. USB Mass Storage Use USB Mass Storage to connect your phone to your computer to transfer files to your phone’s internal memory, or to an optional installed memory card. This procedure describes defaul t USB connection behavior. You can configure USB Mode settings. For more information, see “USB Mode” on page 171. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ USB Mass Storage. 2. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable. 3. At the prompt, select a USB Mode. Use the Directional Key to highlight USB Mass Storage, then press the Center Select Key OK. 4. At the prompt on your com puter, select a method for transferring files, then transfer files. 5. When finished, press the Center Select Key Disconnect, then follow the prompts.
132 Phone Search Enter keywords to search for items on your phone. Note: This procedure uses the QWERTY keyboard and command keys. Rotate the phone and slide it open to access the QWERTY keyboard. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ Phone Search. – or – With the phone open, press the Search Key on the QWERTY keyboard. 2. Enter keyword(s) in the sear ch field using the QWERTY keyboard. 3. Select categories to search. Use the Directional Keys to highlight categories, then press the Center Select Key MARK , or press the Right Soft Key Mark All to search all categories. Press the Left Soft Key Done to save your selections. 4. Press the Center Select Key SEARCH to find items matching your keyword(s). VZ Navigator VZ Navigator® uses GPS positioning to tell you where you are, what’s nearby, and to give you directions - quickly and easily. With audible turn-by-turn directions, you can locate points of interest in the U.S., including landmarks, restaurants, and even ATMs. The first time you launch VZ Navigator, you’ll be prompted to download and install the application, and to agree to the terms of service. Contact Verizon Wireless for more information. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ VZ Navigator. Tip: To use VZ Navigator, you must enable the Location On setting. My Verizon My Verizon connects to the Verizon Wireless Mobile Web. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ My Verizon . Master Volume Set the Master Volume for all the sounds on your phone. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Master Volume . 2. Press the Volume Key or Directional Key Up or Down to highlight a volume level, then press the Center Select Key SET: : All sounds play at High volume. : All sounds play at medium high volume. : All sounds play at medium volume. : All sounds play at medium low volume. : All sounds play at medium volume Vibrate Only: No sounds play, but the phone vibrates for incoming calls and messages, alarms and other alerts. Alarm Only: Sounds play for alarms, but not for calls or alerts. All Sounds Off: No sounds play. Tip: Press the Left Soft Key Play to hear a sample.
