116 Camcorder Options 1.From the Home screen, press and hold the Camera Key on the side of the phone. 2. Press the Right Soft Key Options to access options. Use the Directional Key to highlight items, then press the Center Select Key OK to confirm selections: : Choose Camera to take pictures, or Camcorder to record video. Recording Mode: Select the type of recording. –For Send (176x144): Restrict the size of the video so it can be send as a message attachment. –For Save (320x240): Record at a size suitable for saving. : Adjust the light level in pictures you take. White Balance: Choose a setting for the light source, from Auto, Daylight, Incandescent, Fluorescent, or Cloudy. Effects: Choose an effect to add to pictures, from None, Black & White , Antique, or Negative. : Set a timer for a delay between pressing the Camera Key and recording video. Choose a timer of 2 Seconds, 5 Seconds , or 10 Seconds, or Off. Viewfinder Mode: Customize the Camera display. Choose Icons or No Icons to control whether Options icons appear on the screen, or Guidelines to display lines on the screen to assist in composition. Settings: Configure further Camera options. For more information, see “Camcorder Settings” on page 117. 3. When finished configuring options, press the Right Soft Key Done to save your selections.
Pictures and Video 117 Camcorder Settings 1.From the Home screen, press and hold the Camera Key on the side of the phone. 2. Press the Right Soft Key Options to select Settings. Configure settings, using the Directional Key to highlight items and pressing the Center Select Key OK to enter menus and confirm selections: Video Quality: Set video quality, from Superfine, Fine or Normal. : Choose On to display videos you record, so you can choose whether to save or send them, or choose Off to automatically save ea ch video you record. : Choose On to have a sound play when you press the Camera Key to begin recording, or Off for no sound. : Choose On to have a sound play when you press the Camera Key to stop recording, or Off for no sound. Audio Recording: Choose On to record sound along with video, or Off for no sound. : Choose On to have the phone automatically assign a name to new videos, or Off to have the phone prompt you. : Set the location for saving new videos, to Phone for the phone’s internal memory or Card for an optional installed memory card. : View shortcuts. Shortcuts are keys you can press while in Camera Mode to quickly adjust Camcorder options. While recording, press the number key for the shortcut to access that option. 3. When finished configur ing settings, press the Right Soft Key Done to save your selections.

From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Picture & Video ➔ My Videos. 2. Use the Directional Key to browse videos. While browsing, press the use Options to manage videos, or to view and modify individual videos. For more information, see “Managing Videos” on page 118 and Viewing Videos on page 119. Managing Videos 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Picture & Video ➔ My Videos. 2. Use the Directional Key to browse videos. 3. While viewing a list of videos, press the Left Soft Key Erase to erase the video from My Videos. Press the Right Soft Key Options for options: : Send the highlighted video as an attachment to a Video Message , To Online Album, or To B l o g s. Record Video: Launch the Camera. Set As Wallpaper: Set the highlighted picture as the Home screen Wallpaper. : –Erase: Select videos for deletion. Use the Directional Key to highlight a video, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the video for deletion. To delete all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All .

Use the Directional Key to highlight a video, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the video for locking. To lock all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All. –Unlock: Unlocking removes protection from changes or deletion. Select pictures for unlocking. Use the Directional Key to highlight a video, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the video for unlocking. To unlock all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All . –Move to Phone: If an optional memory card is installed, move videos from the card to the phone’s memory. Use the Directional Key to highlight a video, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the video for moving. To move all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All. –Move to Card: If an optional memory card is installed, move videos from the phone’s memory to the card. Use the Directional Key to highlight a video, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the video for moving. To move all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All. : Change the name of the highlighted video file. File Info: View details about the highlighted picture file. Viewing Videos 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Picture & Video ➔ My Videos. 2. While viewing a list of videos, use the Directional Key to browse video thumbnails. Press the Center Select Key PLAY to play a highlighted video. 3. While playing the video, use these options: Press the Left Soft Key Mute/Unmute to control the audio playback. While playing a video, press the Right Soft Key Options for options: –My Videos: Return to My Videos. –File Info: View details about the video. –Help: View the layout of playback controls on the external keys.
120 Online Album Access your Online Album, to view and manage pictures and videos you’ve sent to Online Album. When taking pictures and recording video, and when viewing pictures and video on your phone, you can choose to send the items to Online album. You can also access Online Album from your computer. For more information, visit www.verizonwireless.com. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Picture & Video ➔ Online Album. Transferring Files to your Phone Use USB Mass Storage to conn ect your phone to your computer to transfer files to yo ur phone’s internal memory, or to an optional installed memory card. This procedure describes default USB connection behavior. You can configure USB Mode settings. For more information, see “USB Mode” on page 171. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ To o l s ➔ USB Mass Storage. 2. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable. 3. At the prompt, select a USB Mode. Use the Directional Key to highlight USB Mass Storage, then press the Center Select Key OK. 4. At the prompt on your computer, select a method for transferring files, then transfer files. 5. When finished, press the Center Select Key Disconnect, then follow the prompts.
Tools 121 Section 11: Tools The features covered in this section allow you to schedule appointments, view the calendar, set an alarm, view time zones, take notes, and perf orm simple math calculations. Note: Unless otherwise noted, instructions in this section use the external keypad. Voice Commands Voice Commands is advanced speech recognition software that recognizes your spoken commands to dial phone numbers, create messages, and launch phone features such as Contacts, Calendar and My Music. To use Voice Commands, speak naturally into your phone, at a distance of 3-12 inches. There is no need to “train” Voice Commands, it is designed to recognize natural speech. 1. From the Home screen, press and hold the Voice Commands Key. – or – From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ Voice Commands. 2. Voice Commands displays a list of available commands, and prompts you for a command. If Voice Commands does not recognize your command, it will prompt you to confirm. Commands include: Call : Place a call to a saved contact, to a telephone number, or to voicemail. Send Message : Create a text, picture, or voice message to a saved contact, or to a telephone number. Open any application installed on your device. Check : View details about your phone’s status. Contacts : Open a contact record from Contacts. : Call the last number you dialed.

Press the Right Soft Key Settings to configure Voice Commands: : Choose On to have your phone read out text messages. Confirm Choices: Control how Voice Commands prompts you to confirm a command. Choose from Automatic, Always Confirm , or Never Confirm. : Choose the strength of the filtering of potential matches to your commands. Select More Sensitive, Automatic, or Less Sensitive. Adapt Voice: Optimize Voice Commands to improve results. Choose Adapt Voice, then follow the prompts. : Configure Voice Commands prompts.

Calculator Normal Perform simple mathematical calculations. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ Calculator ➔ Normal. 2. Enter the first number in your equation. 3. Use the Directional Key to enter a calculation symbol: : [ + ] Addition : [ - ] Subtraction Right Key: [ x ] Multiplication Left Key: [ ÷ ] Division 4. Continue entering numbers and symbols, then press the Center Select Key OK to perform the calculation.

Note: Press to enter a decimal point. 3.Press the Center Select Key OK to calculate these statistics: Price ($/gallon): Cost of fuel per mile. Efficiency ($/mile): Efficiency of the vehicle. Efficiency (mile/gallon): Number of miles per gallon. Efficiency (lb / Trip): Number of pounds of carbon dioxide emitted per trip, based on a gas-powered medium-sized vehicle.
