106 Adding song(s) to a playlist 1.From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Music & To n e s ➔ My Music ➔ Playlists. 2. Use the Directional Key to highlight a playlist, then press the Left Soft Key View to select songs. 3. Use the Directional Key to highlight songs. Press the Center Select Key MARK to mark a highlighted song, or Right Soft Key ➔ Mark All to select all songs. 4. When you are finished marking songs, press the Left Soft Key Done. Tip: You can also add a song to a playlist while listening to the song. Press the Right Soft Key Options ➔ Add to Playlist to choose a playlist. Editing a Playlist 1.From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Music & To n e s ➔ My Music ➔ Playlists. 2. Use the Directional Key to highlight a playlist, then press the Right Soft Key Options for options: Erase Playlist: Delete the playlist. This does not delete the songs. Rename Playlist: Change the name of the playlist. 3. To change the makeup of the playlist, highlight the playlist, then press the Left Soft Key View. Press the Right Soft Key Options for options: Reorder: Change the order of songs in the playlist. Press the Center Select Key MARK to display up and/or down arrows, then use the Directional Key to move the song to a new position in the playlist. Press the Center Select Key Done to save the new order. Remove Songs: Delete songs from the playlist. Highlight a song and press the Center Select Key MARK to mark songs for deletion. To delete all songs, press the Right Soft Key Options ➔ Mark All. Press Done to delete marked songs.

To mark all songs, press the Right Soft Key Options ➔ Mark All. Press the Left Soft Key Done to move marked songs. Transferring Music to your Phone Use the USB Mass Storage tool to connect your phone to your computer to transfer files. By default, files are stored in your phone’s internal memory, or you can install an optional memory card for additional storage capacity. This procedure describes defaul t USB connection behavior. You can configure USB Mode settings. For more information, see “USB Mode” on page 171. 1. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable. 2. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔ USB Mass Storage. 3. At the prompt, select a USB Mode. Use the Directional Key to highlight USB Mass Storage, then press the Center Select Key OK. 4. At the prompt on your com puter, select a method for transferring files, then transfer files. 5. When finished, press the Center Select Key Disconnect, then follow the prompts.
108 Section 10: Pictures and Video Taking Pictures Take pictures with your phone’s built-in camera. The Camera always opens in landscape mode. While taking pictures, you can use the external command keys, or the QWERTY command keys. Important! Do not take photos of people without their permission. Do not take photos in places where cameras are not allowed. Do not take photos in places or in a manner where you may interfere with another person’s privacy. 1. From the Home screen, press the Camera Key on the right side of the phone. 2. Press the Right Soft Key Options to configure Camera settings, if desired. For more information, see “Camera Options” on page 109. 3. Using the display screen as a viewfinder, compose your picture by aiming the lens at your subject. 4. Press the Camera Key or the Center Select Key TAK E to take the picture. 5. After taking a photo, use the soft keys for these options: Press the Right Soft Key Erase to delete the new photo. Press the Center Select Key SEND to resize the new photo and attach it to a new multimedia message. Press the Left Soft Key Save to save the picture to My Pictures. Tip: Open the phone immediately after taking a photo to resize the photo and create a new pi cture message with the new photo attached.
Pictures and Video 109 Camera Options 1.From the Home screen, press the Camera Key on the side of the phone. 2. Press the Right Soft Key Options to access options. Use the Directional Key to highlight items, then press the Center Select Key OK to confirm selections: : Choose Camera to take pictures, or Camcorder to record video. Shooting Mode: Select the type of shot. –Single: Take a single photo with each press of the Camera Key. –Continuous: Take 9 consecutive photos by pressing and holding the Camera key. –Mosaic: Select a template to combine multiple photos into a mosaic. –Frame: Choose a frame border for your picture. –Panorama: Take multiple pictures to be combined into one. : Choose a resolution for new photos. Resolution affects the image quality and file size. : Adjust the light level in pictures you take. White Balance: Choose a setting for the light source, from Auto, Daylight, Incandescent, Fluorescent, or Cloudy. Exposure Metering: Choose how the camera measures the light to adjust exposure time, from Matrix, Center-weighted, or Spot. : Choose an effect to add to pictures, from None, Black & White , Antique, or Negative. Night Shot: Select On to adjust exposure for low light conditions, or Off. : Set a timer for a delay between pressing the Camera Key and the taking of the photo. Choose a timer of 2 Seconds, 5 Seconds, or 10 Seconds, or Off. Viewfinder Mode: Customize the Camera display. Choose Icons or No Icons to control whether Options icons appear on the screen, or Guidelines to display lines on the screen to assist in picture composition. : Configure further Camera options. For more information, see “Camera Settings” on page 110. 3. When finished configur ing options, press the Right Soft Key Done to save your selections.
110 Camera Settings 1.From the Home screen, press the Camera Key on the side of the phone. 2. Press the Right Soft Key Options to select Settings. Configure settings, using the Directional Key to highlight items and pressing the Center Select Key OK to enter menus and confirm selections: Photo Quality: Set image quality, from Superfine, Fine or Normal. : Choose On to display pictures you take, so you can choose whether to save or send them, or choose Off to automatically save ea ch picture you take. Shutter Sound: Choose On to have a sound play when you press the Camera Key, or Off for no sound. : Choose On to have the phone automatically assign a name to new pictures, or Off to have the phone prompt you. : Set the location for saving new photos, to Phone for the phone’s internal memory or Card for an optional installed memory card. : View shortcuts. Shortcuts are keys you can press while in Camera Mode to quickly adjust Camera options. While taking pictures, press the number key for the shortcut to access that option. 3. When finished configuring settings, press the Right Soft Key Done to save your selections.

Note: The pictures pre-loaded on your phone are copyright- protected, and cannot be sent as a message attachment. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Media Center ➔ Picture & Video ➔ My Pictures. 2. Use the Directional Key to browse pictures. While browsing, press the use Options to manage pictures, or to view and modify individual pictures. For more information, see “Managing Pictures” on page 111 and Viewing and Editing Pictures on page 113. Tip: My Pictures is also available from the Menu, when using the default Menu layout and items. While viewing a list of photos, press the Left Soft Key Erase to erase the picture from My Pictures, and from any Setting where it is used. Press the Right Soft Key Options for options: : Send the highlighted picture as an attachment to a Picture Message, To Online Album, Via Email, Via Bluetooth , To B l o g s, or To F a c e b o o k. : Set the highlighted picture as the Home screen Wallpaper or as Picture ID for a contact. Take Picture: Launch the Camera. Get New Pictures: Launch Get New Pictures to download new pictures from the Media Center catalog.

Follow the prompts to select a device and print. For more information about using Bluetooth, see “Bluetooth Menu” on page 136. –Lock: Locking protects pictures from changes or deletion. Select pictures for locking. Use the Directional Key to highlight a picture, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the picture for locking. To lock all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All . –Unlock: Unlocking removes protection from changes or deletion. Select pictures for unlocking. Use the Directional Key to highlight a picture, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the picture for unlocki ng. To unlock all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All . –Move to Phone: If an optional memory card is installed, move pictures from the card to the phone’s memory. Use the Directional Key to highlight a picture, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the picture for moving. To move all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All. –Move to Card: If an optional memory card is installed, move pictures from the phone’s memory to the card. Use the Directional Key to highlight a picture, then press the Center Select Key MARK to mark the picture for moving. To move all, press the Right Soft Key Mark All. : Change the name of the highlighted picture file. : Display the highlighted picture in full-screen. : View all pictures as a slide show. Use the Directional Key to highlight an time period to display each picture, then press the Center Select Key PLAY to start the slide show. : View details about the highlighted picture file.

While viewing a picture, press the Left Soft Key Erase to delete the picture, or press the Center Select Key LIST to return to the thumbnails. Press the Right Soft Key Options to select Fit to Screen to enlarge the picture to fill the display, or Preview On/ Preview Off to control whether a preview of your changes appears in a thumbnail on the screen. Press the Left Soft Key Next to display the next picture in My Pictures. : Modify the selected picture. –Effects: Choose an effect to a pply to the picture, from Normal, Black & White, Sepia, Green, Blue, Sketch Effect, Emboss, Soft - Glamorous, Soft-Elegant, Soft - Charismatic , Spring Sun, Dawn, Fright, Cinema - Normal , Cinema -Black & White or Cinema-Old.
114 –Decorate: Press the Left Soft Key Add to add a Frame or ClipArt to the picture. –Revision: Adjust the Brightness, Saturation, Contrast or Blur. –Merge: Create a composite picture by merging parts of two pictures. The current picture is the Background. Highlight Foreground, then press the Left Soft Key Set to select a picture and select a shape, size , and position for cropping the foreground picture. After making selections, press the Center Select Key MERGE to create the composite picture. Follow the prompts to confirm the merge and save the new picture. –Copy/Paste: Copy a specific part of another picture as a shape, and paste it onto the selected pi cture. The current picture is the Background. Highlight Foreground, then press the Left Soft Key Set to select a picture and select a shape, size, and position for cropping the fore ground picture. After making selections, press the Center Select Key MERGE to create the composite picture. Follow the prompts to confirm the merge and save the new picture. –Resize: Change the size of the selected picture. Options are: depend on the options used when the picture was taken. –Rotate / Flip: Rotate the selected picture in incremental steps or flip the picture horizontally or vertically. Use the Directional Key to highlight a rotation or flip option, then press the Left Soft Key OK to modify the picture. Follow the prompts to save the modified picture. : Change the name of the picture. : If an optional memory card is installed, move the picture between the phone’s internal memory and the memory card. : Lock the picture to protect it from deletion, or Unlock to remove protection. : Display the picture full-screen. : View all pictures as a slide show. Use the Directional Key to highlight an time period to display each picture, then press the Center Select Key PLAY to start the slide show. : View details about the picture.

After recording a video, use the soft keys for these options: Press the Right Soft Key Erase to delete the new video. Press the Center Select Key PLAY to review the video. Press the Left Soft Key Save to save the video to My Videos.
