control telephone:  A control 
telephone can place the  lines  for  which 
it has responsibility in or out of a 
Service Mode. The direct-dial telephone 
is a control telephone for directing calls

Direct Inward System Access 
(DISA):  The feature that allows remote 
users dial directly into the Norstar 
system and use Norstar features. Callers 
will hear stuttered dial tone and will be 
required to enter a Class of Service 
password to gain access to the system.

to get an external line. By default it is 9, 
but this can be changed under Access 
codes in System programming. You do 
not always need an external code. It is 
primarily to support the M7100/T7100 
telephones and single line telephones 
using an Analog Terminal Adapter.
