You can set an expiration time for confidential print jobs. When a user has not printed the jobs within the designated time period, all of the jobs for that user are deleted. Note: This functionality is available only on network printers. To modify the confidential print settings: 1Type the printer IP address into the address field of your Web browser. Clearing jams By carefully selecting paper and specialty media and loading it properly, you should be able to avoid most jams. For more information, see “Avoiding jams” on page 123. If jams do occur, follow the steps outlined in this chapter. Warning—Potential Damage: Never use any tool to remove a jam. Doing so could permanently damage the fuser. Identifying jams in the paper path The following illustration shows the path that paper travels through the printer. The path varies depending on the input source (tray or feeder) and depending on whether a duplex (two‑sided) print job is being sent. When a jam occurs, a jam message appears, indicating the region of the jam or the number of jammed sheets.
