Clearing a Media Misfeed in Tray 3/4
1Open the right side cover of 
Tray 3 (Tray 4).
Before opening the right 
side cover of Tray 3 
(Tray 4), fold up Tray 1.
2Carefully pull out the misfed 
media.
3Close the right side cover of 
Tray 3 (Tray 4).

4Pull out Tray 3 (Tray 4), and then 
remove all paper from the tray.
5Fan the paper you removed and 
then align it well.
6Load the paper face up in Tray 3 (Tray 4).
–Make sure that the paper is flat.
–Do not load paper above the ▼ mark.
–Slide the media guides against the edges of the paper.
7Close Tray 3 (Tray 4).

1Open the duplex cover.
2Carefully pull out the misfed 
media.

Clearing a Media Misfeed from the Fuser Unit
1Pull the lever, and then open the 
right side cover.
Before opening the right 
side cover, fold up Tray 1.
2Push up the levers of the fuser 
unit cover, and then open the 
cover.
3Carefully pull out the misfed 
media.

CAUTION
The area around the fuser unit is 
extremely hot.
Touching anything other than the 
indicated levers and dials may 
result in burns. If you get burned, 
immediately cool the skin under 
cold water, and then seek 
professional medical attention.
Note
Decreased print quality may 
result if the surface of the image 
transfer belt or the transfer roller 
is touched.
Be careful not to touch the 
surface of the image transfer belt 
or transfer roller.

Staple Finisher (Case 1)
If the media misfeed occurred between the relay unit and the top of the staple 
finisher, follow the procedure described below to remove the misfed media.
1Open the finisher cover.
2Carefully pull out the misfed
