    							6.Select the  Device and Document Settings  tab, and press the Custom Properties  button.
    7.In the Paper/Quality  tab, check the Show preview before printing  box, and select the
    paper type that you intend to use.
    NOTE: If you select neither the paper source nor th e paper type, the printer will not print on any
    protected roll (see 
    Roll protection on page 91 ).
    8. Select the print quality (your own choice 
    between speed and quality of printing).

    							9.Press the  Margins/Layout  button and select a layout option.
    If the job is 10 mm smaller in both dimensions than the page size you have chosen, select
    Standard margins . See 
    Select margins options on page 83.
    If the job is the same size as the page you have chosen, but has at least 5 mm of white space
    around the edges, select  Clip contents by margins .
    If the job is the same size as the page you ha ve chosen, and does not have 5 mm of white space
    around the edges, select  Oversize. The final output will be larger than the page you selected, but
    you can cut the print to the correc t size without losing any of it.
    10. Select the  Features tab, then select the  Autorotate option and the  Crop lines option.
    Autorotation can help to avoid  wasting paper, and the crop line s will show you where to cut the
    paper after printing.

    							11.Press the  OK button and save your configu ration changes to a PC3 file.
    12.When you have pressed the  OK button in the Plot window, the printer will construct a print
    preview.
    Using the Embedded Web Server to submit files
    From the HP Utility or the Embedded Web Server, select  Job Center > Submit Job . With some Web
    browsers, you will see the window below; with ot her Web browsers, the mechanism for adding files is
    slightly different.

    							Press the Add files  button (or  Choose File,  Add another file) to choose the files from your
    computer that you want to print. The files must be in one of the following formats:
    ● HP-GL/2
    ● RTL
    ● CALS/G4
    ● PDF (with the PostScript upgrade only)
    ● PostScript (with the PostScript upgrade only)
    ● TIFF (with the PostScript upgrade only)
    ● JPEG (with the PostScript upgrade only)
    NOTE:
    When you print to a file, the file should be  in one of the above formats, but its name may
    have an extension such as  .plt or .prn .
    If the files are not in one of these format s, they will not be printed successfully.
    If the jobs have been generated wi th the appropriate settings (such as page size, rotation, resizing and
    number of copies), you can just press the Print button and the project will be sent to the printer.
    If you need to specify prin ting settings, go to the Job settings section and select the options you need.
    Each option has explanatory text on the right, so th at you can understand the behavior of each setting.
    Remember that, if you leave the setting as  Default, the setting saved in the  job will be used. If the job
    contains no setting, the setting  in the printer will be used.
    Using printer emulation
    Printer emulation can be requested by selecting Advanced settings  > Color > Color
    management  > Printer emulation .
    You can select  Off (no printer emulation) or the name of th e printer model that you want to emulate.
    This setting will apply to jobs th at do not contain any printer emulation setting saved in the job.

    							Using clip contents by margins
    You can select this margins option from Advanced settings > Paper  > Layout/Margins  > Print
    with margins  > Layout > Clip contents by margins .
    Use this option when the contents to be printed ha ve white borders and a size equal to that of the
    paper you have selected. The printer will use the wh ite border for its margins and you will get a page
    of size equal to that which  is selected in the driver.
    Print a presentation
    This section demonstrates how to print a pr esentation from AutoCAD and from Photoshop.
    Using AutoCAD
    1.Open the AutoCAD file and select a layout.
    2.Click the Plot icon at the top of the window.
    3.
    Ensure that the correct printe r is selected, then press the Properties button.

    Using Adobe Photoshop
    1. Select File  > Page Setup  > Printer , select your printer and click  OK.

    							2.Choose from the available paper sizes.
    If you do not find the paper size 
    that you intend to use, select Printer > Properties > Paper/
    Quality > Custom  > Paper Size. Enter the width, the length and the name of your custom
    paper size. Press the  Save and OK  buttons.
    3.Select File  > Print with Preview .

    							4.Select Print > Properties . In the Document Properties window, select Paper Source, Paper
    Type  and Print Quality.
    5.In the Color  tab, the default color management option is  Printer Managed Colors, and this is
    the correct option because  you have already selected Let Printer Determine Colors  in
    Photoshop.
