Removing the Duplex Unit
1. Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord and interface cable.
2. Loosen the two screws on the lower sides of the Duplex Unit.
3. Press the unlock button to unlock the hooks, then remove the unit from the printer.
4. Attach the duplex unit connector cover and the upper option cover to cover B.
5. Reconnect the interface cable and power cord, then turn the printer on.

Stacker
Installing the Stacker
1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord and interface cable.
2. Loosen the two screws, and then remove the top cover.
Note:
If the Duplex Unit is installed, open the Duplex Unit’s cover before loosening the screws.

3. Insert the right and left tabs of the Stacker into the holes on the top of the printer and slowly 
lower it onto the top of the printer.
4. Secure the screws at both ends of the bottom of the Stacker.
Note:
The locking clip that is shipped with the Stacker is not used for this printer.

5. Pull out the extension tray.
6. Reconnect the interface cable and power cord, and then turn on the printer.
Removing the Stacker
1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord and interface cable.
2. Close the extension tray of the Stacker.

3. Loosen the screws on both sides of the Stacker, and while holding up the Stacker, remove the 
right and left tabs from the holes on the top of the printer.
Note:
If the Duplex Unit is installed, open the Duplex Unit’s cover before loosening the screws.
4. Insert the right and left tabs of the top cover into the holes on the top of the printer, and then 
tighten the two screws.

Memory Module
By installing Dual In-line Memory Modules (DIMMs), you can increase printer memory up to 576 
MB. You may want to add additional memory if you are having difficulty printing complex 
graphics.

2. Remove the right side cover by removing the screw on the back of the printer and sliding the 
cover backward.
3. Loosen the two screws using a screwdriver. Then hold the tab on the top of the shield cover and 
remove the cover.

Warning:
Removing other screws and covers will expose high voltage areas.

4. Identify the RAM slot.
a. RAM slot S2
b. RAM slot S1
5. Insert the memory module into the slot until the clips lock onto the memory module.

Caution:
❏Do not force the memory module into the slot.
❏Be sure to insert the memory module facing the correct way.
❏You should not remove any modules from the circuit board. Otherwise, the printer will not 
work.

6. Reattach the shield cover with two screws as shown below.

7. Reattach the right side cover to the printer as shown below. Then, tighten the screw on the back 
of the printer.

Warning:
Tighten the screw firmly to prevent the printer’s right side cover from the falling off when moving 
the printer.
8. Reconnect the interface cable and power cord and turn the printer on.
