Connect all cables and fix them in place before the cable cover is attached to the projecto r. When prepar ing for correct co lor repro duction, both the source an d the pro jector must be cons idered. The pro jector o ffers severa l ways to ca librate co lors, as we ll as correct ion o f the input s ignal. The source may need correction because it is usually not calibrated from the factory, which leads to higher or lower signal levels than nomina l.In addition, R, G and B may be slightly different (not balanced), addin g a tint to the ima ge. Correctin g the input si gnal means adjustin g the gain (contrast) and offset (bri ghtness) of R, G and B individuall y.This is in addition to the normal brightness an d contrast contro ls. The pro jector may a lso nee d calibration regar dless o f the source s ignal, because t here may be slight differences in opt ical coat ings, as we ll as t he spectra l distribution o f individual lamps, which can even change over time .
