If 51 or more documents are loaded, \ba\ber jams may occur, or the documents may not be scanned. While scanning a docu\fent Do not add or remove documents. When scanning docu\fents is co\fplete Remove the documents from the document del\Iivery tray to avoid \ba\ber jams. \bvoid scanning the sa\fe docu\fent 30 ti\fes or \fore. When scanned re\beatedly, documents can bec\Iome folded or torn, which may cause \ba\ber jams. Be sure to align the docu\fent guides securely against the edges of the d\Rocu\fent. • If the document guid\Ies are too loose or too tight, this may result in misfeeds or \ba\ber jams. • Printouts may be askew de\bending on the \I\brinting environment. Loading the document\I \bro\berly sometimes relieves the \broblem.

To prevent paper ja\fs, do not use the f\Rollowing paper types.• Wrinkled or creased paper • Curled or rolled paper • Torn paper • Damp paper • Very thin paper • Paper printed \fy a thermal transfer printer (Do not copy on the reverse side.) The following paper types do not print well:• Highly textured paper • Very smooth paper • Glossy paper Make sure that the paper is free of dust, lint, and oil stains. Make sure to test print before purchasing large quantities of copy paper. Keep the paper wrapped in its original\R package (unopened or opened) and stored in a cool, dry place until ready to use. Make sure to keep it on a flat surface. Store paper stacks in a pla\Rce where te\fperatures are so\fewhere between 64.4 to 75.2°F (18 to 24°C) and hu\fidity is so\fewhere between 40 % to 60 % RH. C\bUTION If you print on da\fp paper The following \broblems may occur. • Steam is emitted from the machine’s out\but area. • Water dro\blets form on the back side\I of the o\beration \banel \Iand in the out\but area. Moisture eva\borates from dam\b \ba\ber due to the heat generat\Ied inside the fixi\Ing unit (it is most li\Ikely to occur at low room tem\beratures). This is not a malfun\Iction, but you can \brevent this by using a stack of \Inew uno\bened \ba\ber. Should you smell something b\Iurning, immediately turn OFF the machine, un\blug the \bower \blug from the AC \bower outlet, and contact your local authorized Canon dealer or the Canon hel\b line. Continued use may lead to a fire or electrical shock.
