8-9 Maintenance W\bRNING Do not dispose of a used toner cartridge in an open fla\fe. This may ignite the toner remaining inside th\Ie cartridge, resulting in burns or fire. C\bUTION Precautions if you get toner on your hands or clothing If toner gets on your hands or clothi\Ing, wash them immediately with cold water. Washing with warm water sets the toner, making it im\bossible to remove the toner stains Be careful not to scatter the toner. Do not \bull out the se\Ialing ta\be forcefully or sto\b \bulling the ta\be halfway, as this may cause toner to s\bill out. If toner gets into your eyes or mouth, wash t\Ihem immediately with cold water and consult a \bhysician. Precautions when closi\Rng the front cover Be careful not to catch your fingers. 8 Remove the drum protective cover (A). * Kee\b the drum \brotective cover. You will need them wh\Ien you remove the toner cartridge for machine maintenance or other \bur\boses. (A) 9 Inst\fll the toner c\frtridge. Be careful not to let the drum im\bac\It the frame of the\I toner cartridge tray. 10 Push the toner c\frtridge tr\fy b\fck in. 11 Close the front cover. If you cannot close the fr\Ront cover Make sure that the toner cartridge tray is closed. Do not try to forcefully close the fr\Iont cover, as this may damage the machine. Hold the toner cartridges properly When handling the t\Ioner cartridges, hold them \bro\berly as shown in the figure. Do not \blace them vertically or u\bside-down.

(A)(A) Precautions when insta\Rlling toner cartridges The \bosition of the \Itoner cartridges in the \brinter is determined by the toner color. Install the toner cartridges in the slots \Ithat have labels of the same \Icolor. Do not leave the front cover open for a long ti\fe with\R the toner cartridges installed. This may result in a deterioration in \brint quality. \bfter replacing toner cartridges To maintain image q\Iuality, it is recommended to \berform automatic gradation adjustment\I. e-Manual → Maintenance → Adjusting → Correcting the Gradation → Making Full Adjustment Miscellaneous precautions • Do not ex\bose the toner cartridge to direct sunlight or strong light. • Never disassemble or m\Iodify it. • Condensation may form in and on the toner cartridge if it is brought into an environment that ex\boses\I it to sudden changes in tem\berature and/or humidity. If you move the toner cartridge to a location that i\Is warmer or has higher \Ihumidity, leave the cartridge in the new location for two hours or longer w\Iithout o\bening the \brotective bag to allow it to adjust to the new tem\berature. NOTE \bbout the packing \faterials The \backing materials may be changed in form or \blacement, or \I may be added or removed without notice. This program preserves precious natural resources \fy utilizing a variety of materials found in the used cartridges that are of no further use, to remanufacture new cartridges which, at the same time, keeps the environment cleaner \fy reducing landfill waste.
