    You can set the print type, date imprinting, and file No. imprinting. The 
    print settings will be applied to all print-ordered images. (They cannot 
    be set individually for each image.)
    1Select [Print order].
    X Under the [ 3] tab, select [ Print 
    order], then press < 0>.
    2Select [Set up].
      Select [Set up ], then press .
    3Set the option as desired.
      Set the [Print type ], [Date ], and [ File 
    No. ].
      Select the option, then press < 0>. 
    Select the desired setting, then press 
    < 0 >.

    4 Exit the setting.
     Press the < 7> button.
    X The print order screen will reappear.
      Next, select [Sel.Image], [ Byn ], or 
    [All image] to order the images to be 
    printed.
    Print type
    KStandard Prints one image on one sheet.
    LIndexMultiple, thumbnail images are printed on one sheet.
    K
    LBothPrints both the standard and index prints.
    Date On
    [On ] imprints the recorded  date on the print.
    Off
    File numberOn[On ] imprints the file  No. on the print.
    Off
      Even if [ Date] and [ File No. ] are set to [ On], the date or fi le No. might not 
    be imprinted depending on the pr int type setting and printer model.
      When printing with DP OF, you must use the ca rd whose print order 
    specifications have been set. It will  not work if you just extract images 
    from the card and try to print them.
      Certain DPOF-compatible printers an d photofinishers might not be able 
    to print the images as you specified.  If this happens with your printer, 
    refer to the printer’s inst ruction manual. Or check  with your photofinisher 
    about compatibility wh en ordering prints.
      Do not insert into the camera a ca rd whose print order was set by a 
    different camera and then try to spec ify a print order. The print order may 
    not work or may be overwritten. Also , depending on the image type, the 
    print order may not be possible.
      Print ordering does not work  with RAW images and movies.
      With [ Index ] prints, both the [ Date] and [ File No. ] cannot be set to [ On] 
    at the same time.

    W Digital Print Order Format (DPOF)
     Sel.Image
    Select and order images one by one.
    Press the  button to display the 
    three-image view. To return to the single-
    image display, press the < u> button.
    After completing the print order, press 
    the < M > button to save the print 
    order to the card.
    [Standard] [Both]
    Press < 0> and a print order for 1 copy 
    of the displayed image will be placed. 
    Then turn the < 5> dial to set the 
    number of copies (up to 99) to be printed 
    for that image.
    [Index]
    Press , and the displayed image will 
    be included in th e index print. The <
    X> 
    icon will also appear on the upper left.
      Byn
    Select [By n] and select the folder. A prin t order for 1 copy of all the 
    images in the folder will be placed.  If you select Clear all and a 
    folder, the print order for all the images in the folder will be canceled.
      All image
    A print order for 1 copy of all the im ages in the card will be placed. If 
    you select Clear all, the print orde r for all the images in the card will 
    be canceled.
    Print Ordering

    Note that RAW images and movies will  not be included in the print order 
    even if you set “By n” or “All image.”
      When using a PictBridge  printer, print no more than 400 images for one 
    print order. If you specify more than  this, all the images might not be 
    printed.

    With a PictBridge printer, you can easily 
    print images with DPOF.
    1Preparing to print.
     See page 172. Follow the “Connecting  the Camera to a Printer” 
    procedure up to step 5.
    2Under the [3] tab, select [Print order].
    3Select [Print].
      [Print] will be displayed only if the camera is connected to the 
    printer and printing is possible.
    4Set the [Paper settings]. (p.174)
      Set the printing effects (p.176) if necessary.
    5Select [OK].
    WDirect Printing with DPOF
     Before printing, be sure  to set the paper size.
      Certain printers cannot  imprint the file No.
     
    If [Bordered] is set, the date might be imprinted on the border, depending on the printer.  Depending on the printer, th e date might look light if it is imprinted on a 
    bright background  or on the border.
     Under [ Adjust levels ], [Manual ] cannot be selected.
      If you stopped the printing and want to resume  printing the remaining 
    images, select [Resume ]. Note that printing will not resume if you stop 
    the printing and any of the following occurs:
    • Before resuming the printing, you  changed the print order or deleted 
    print-ordered images.
    •
    When you set the index, you changed the paper setting before resuming the printing.• When you paused the printing, the  card’s remaining capacity was low.
      If a problem occurs during  printing, see page 180.

    By connecting the camera to a personal computer, you can transfer 
    images from the camera’s card by operating the camera. This feature is 
    called direct image transfer. Before connecting the camera to a personal computer, be sure 
    to install the provided software (EOS DIGITAL Solution Disk 
    on CD-ROM) in the personal computer.
    For instructions to install the pr ovided software, see the separate 
    sheet, CD-ROM Guide.
    1Set the camera’s power switch to 
    .
    2Connect the camera to the 
    personal computer.
     Use the interface cable provided with 
    the camera.
      When connecting the cable plug to 
    the camera’s < D> terminal, the 
    cable plug’s < D> icon must face the 
    front side of the camera.
      Connect the plug on other end of the 
    cable to the personal computer’s 
    USB port.
    3Set the camera’s power switch to 
    .
      When the program selection screen 
    appears on the personal computer, 
    select [EOS Utility ].
    X The [ EOS Utility ] screen will appear 
    on the computer, and the direct image 
    transfer screen will appear on the 
    camera’s LCD monitor.

    d Transferring Images to a Personal Computer
    The images sent to the personal computer will be saved in the [ My 
    Pictures] folder or [ Pictures] folder in subfolders organized according 
    to the shooting date.
     All images
    This is to transfer all the images in the 
    card to the personal computer.
     Select [All images ], then press the 
    < l > button.
    X The < l> button’s blue lamp will 
    blink and the image transfer will start.
    X When the image transfer is 
    completed, the lamp will stay on.

      If the [ EOS Utility ] screen does not appear, see Software Instruction 
    Manual in the CD-ROM.
      Before disconnectin g the cable, turn off the ca mera. Pull out the cable by 
    grasping the plug (i nstead of the cord).
     Since movie files are larger than still  photo files, they will take longer to 
    transfer.
      During the file transfer, do  not disconnect the cable.
      Shooting will be disabled while the  direct transfer screen is displayed.

    Options other than [ All images] are explained below. To start the image 
    transfer, press the < l> button.
      New images
    Images which have not yet been  transferred to the personal 
    computer will be selected by  the camera automatically and 
    transferred.
      Transfer order images
    You select the images and they  are transferred to the personal 
    computer in a batch. To se lect the images, see page 188.
      Select & transfer
    You select the images individually to be 
    transferred. To exit, press the < M> 
    button.
      Wallpaper
    The image you select and transf er will appear as the personal 
    computer’s wallpaper. To exit, press the < M> button.
     If you press  instead of the < l> button, a confirmation dialog 
    will appear. Select [ OK], then press  to start the transfer.
      RAW images and movies cannot be transferred as wallpaper.

    d Transferring Images to a Personal Computer
    Under the [ 3] tab, you can use 
    [Transfer order ] to select the images to 
    be transferred to a personal computer.
    When you select [ Transfer order 
    images ] on page 187, you can transfer 
    the images set by  the transfer order.
     Sel.Image
    Select and order images  one by one. Press 
     to include the displayed image in the 
    transfer order. The  icon will also appear 
    on the upper left.  After completing the 
    transfer order, press the <
    M> button to 
    save the transfer order to the card.
      BynSelect [Byn] and select the folder. All the  images in the folder will then 
    be included in the transfer order. If  you select Clear all and a folder, the 
    transfer order for all the images  in the folder will be canceled.
     All image
    When you select All image, all the images in the card will be 
    included in the transfer order. If yo u select Clear all, the transfer 
    order for all the images in the card will be canceled.
    3  Selecting the Images  to be Transferred
    Do not put into the came ra any images whose tran sfer order was set by a 
    different camera and then  try to specify another transfer order. The images 
    in the transfer order mi ght all be overwritten. Al so, depending on the image 
    type, the transfer ord er may not be possible.
     For the transfer order, if you select an image captured in the RAW+JPEG 
    mode, it will be counted as one image. During the direct image transfer, both 
    the RAW and JPEG images will be transfe rred to the personal computer.
     If you want to transfer more than 999  images in one batch, select [All 
    images ] on the direct tran sfer screen (p.186).

    Customizing theCamera
    With Custom Functions, yo u can change the camera 
    functions according to your preference. Also, the 
    current camera settings can  be saved under the Mode 
    Dial’s < w>, , and < y> positions.
    The features explained in th is chapter can be set and 
    used in the follow ing shooting modes:  d, s , f , a , 
    F .

    1Select [8].
      Turn the < 6> dial to select the [ 8] 
    tab.
    2Select the group.
      Turn the < 5> dial to select C.Fn I - 
    IV, then press < 0>.
    3Select the Custom Function 
    number.
      Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
    Custom Function No., then press 
    < 0 >.
    4 Change the setting as desired.
      Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
    setting (number), then press < 0>.
      Repeat steps 2 to 4 if you want to set 
    other Custom Functions.
      At the bottom of the screen, the 
    current Custom Function settings are 
    indicated below the respective 
    function numbers.
    5Exit the setting.
     Press the < M> button.
    X The screen for step 2 will reappear.
    In step 2, select [ Clear all Custom Func. (C.Fn) ] to clear all the 
    Custom Function settings.

    Clearing All Custom Functions
    Even after all the Custom Function s are cleared, the setting for [8C.Fn IV -
    5: Focusing Screen ] will remain unchanged.
