messages, you should create a distinct general delivery mailbox.

Changing the Attendant’s Intercom Number
The CLASSIC MAIL system always gives incoming callers the option of calling an
attendant. For example, incoming callers always hear the instruction, “Please enter
the extension number you wish to call, or press pound to use the company directory. To reach
an attendant, press zero or just stay on the line.“ If a caller presses zero, the CLASSIC
MAIL system will transfer the caller to the attendant’s intercom number. This

Chapter 8: Creating Advanced Answering Services
Chapter 5 described a basic answering service. You can schedule the basic service to
greet callers differently during your normal business hours than it does after hours.
The way the CLASSIC MAIL system operates during normal business hours is referred
to as day mode. After-hours operation is referred to as night mode.

You determine what operating mode the CLASSIC MAIL system is in by setting up
a daily business schedule....

Setting the Business Hours Schedule
The CLASSIC MAIL system’s default business hours assume your business is open 24
hours, 7 days a week. To change this schedule, specify a day, then specify the hours
of normal operation for that day. You can copy the schedule of any day and use it
to define schedules for any other days. Before establishing a new schedule, you can
check what the current schedule is.
