 l Search for an app. Tap  on the Google Play home screen, enter the name or type of app 
you’re looking for, and then tap  on the keyboard.
 4. Tap an app to read a description about the app and user reviews.

Note: You need a Google Wallet account to purchase items on Google Play. Set up a Google Wallet 
account if you do not have one.
 6. The subsequent screen notifies you whether the app will require access to your personal 
information or access to certain functions or settings of your tablet. If you agree to the conditions, 
tap ACCEPT (for free appsyf or the price tag (for paid appsyf to begin downloading and installing 
the app.
 l If you selected a paid application, you’re redirected to the Google Wallet screen to pay for the 
application before it’s downloaded to your tablet.
The selected app is downloaded and installed on your tablet.
Warning: Read the notification carefully! Be especially cautious with applications that have 
access to many functions or a significant amount of your data. Once you tap OK on this screen, you 
are responsible for the results of using this item on your tablet.
Purchasing Applications
Purchase apps at your own risk. Sprint is not responsible for any disadvantages done to users or 
third parties.
Request a Refund for a Paid App
If you are not satisfied with an app, you can ask for a refund within 15 minutes of the purchase. Your 
credit card is not charged and the app is uninstalled from your tablet.
If you change your mind, you can install the app again, but you can’t request a refund a second time.
 1. From home, tap Play Store .
 2. Tap Menu  > My apps.
 3. Tap the app to uninstall for a refund. The details screen for the app opens.
 4. Tap Refund, and then tap Yes to confirm. Your app is uninstalled and the charge is cancelled.
Update an App 
Depending on your settings, many apps will update automatically, or you can update apps directly 
from the Play Store app.

Update an App Directly
 1. From home, tap Play Store .
 2. Tap Menu  > My apps.
 3. Tap the app you want to update, and then tap UPDATE > ACCEPT.
 
The app update is downloaded and installed.

Set Automatic App Updates
 1. From home, tap Play Store .
 2. Tap Menu  > Settings > Auto-update apps, select auto-update apps conditions.
 
Note: Automatic updates are unavailable for some apps.
Uninstall an App
You can uninstall any app that you have downloaded and installed from Google Play.
 1. From home, tap Play Store .

 3. On the Installed screen, tap the app you want to uninstall, and then tap UNINSTALL > OK.
 
The app is uninstalled and removed from your tablet.

Get Help with Google Play
The Google Play store app offers online help options if you have questions or want to know more 
about the app.
 1. From home, tap Play Store .
 2. Tap Menu  > Help & Feedback.
 
The Web browser will take you to the Google Play Help Web page, where you will find 
comprehensive, categorized information about Google Play.
Lock and Unlock Your Screen
Your tablet allows you to quickly turn the screen off when not in use and to turn it back on and unlock 
it when you need it.
Turn the Screen Off When Not in Use
 n To quickly turn the screen off, press the Power/Lock key and show the lock screen.
To save battery power, the tablet automatically turns off the screen after a certain period of time 
when you leave it idle.
Note: For information on how to adjust the time before the screen turns off, see Display Settings. 
Turn the Screen On and Unlock It
 1. To turn the screen on, press the Power/Lock key.

The lock screen appears.
 2. Swipe your finger up on the screen to unlock, or swipe left to access camera directly.
The screen is unlocked.
 l If you have set up a screen lock, you will be prompted to draw the pattern or enter the 
password or PIN. See Lock Screen Settings.

Update Your Tablet
From time to time, updates may become available for your tablet. You can download and apply 
updates through Settings > System updates.
Software Update Cautions
During update: The tablet cannot be used until the software update is complete. It may take 
time to update your tablet’s software.
Signal during update: Update your tablet where signal reception is good, and do not change 
location during the update process. Make sure the battery is adequately charged before 
beginning an update. A weak signal or low battery during an update may cause the update to fail. 
An update failure may disable the tablet.
Other functions during update: Other tablet functions cannot be used during a software 
update.
Update Your Tablet Software
You can update your tablet's software using the System updates option.
Before Updating Your Tablet
Updating your tablet may result in a loss of saved data depending on the condition of your tablet 
(malfunctioning, damaged, water seepage, etc.yf. You must back up all critical information before 
updating your tablet firmware.
Back Up All Data Prior to Update
To back up your Gmail information:
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings  > Accounts > Google. 
 2. Tap an account to enable the feature. 
 l If the Auto-sync data option is on, email, Calendar and Contacts automatically synchronize 
whenever a change is made. 
 l If the Auto-sync data is off, tap the sync icon within the account field to reveal the account’s 
synchronization settings screen.
 3. Tap  > Sync now to sync your Google Account information.
To back up your Exchange Mail information:
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings  > Accounts > Exchange. 
 2. Tap the sync icon within the Corporate account field to reveal the account’s synchronization 
settings screen.
To back up your Google apps:

Your Google app purchases are reloaded remotely and can be re-installed after the update is 
applied. 
 1. From home, tap  Play Store .
 2. Tap Menu  > My Apps > ALL tab. 
 3. Scroll through the list of previously downloaded Google apps and choose those you wish to 
reinstall.
 4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: Your Google app purchases are reloaded remotely and can be re-installed after the update is 
applied. 
As an added precaution, to preserve any data on your microSD card, please unmount it from your 
tablet prior to starting the update process. From home screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > 
Storage > Unmount SD card.
Update Your Tablet’s Software
Once you have backed up all your data, use the Update now option to update your tablet’s 
software.
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings  > System updates.

 2. Tap System updates. Tap  to check for updates.
Your tablet automatically downloads and installs any available updates. You may be required 
to power your tablet off and back on to complete the software upgrade.
Alternatively, you can access system updates through the notifications panel.
 1. Locate the System update Available icon  in notifications.
 2. Drag the status bar down.
 3. Tap  to open the System Updates screen.
 4. Tap Download and follow the onscreen instructions. 
 5. The downloading icon (yf appears within the status bar to indicate the tablet is downloading the 
necessary files.
 6. Tap Restart and install to complete the process.

Confirm Your Current Tablet Firmware
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings  > About tablet. 
 2. The software version will be showed in the SW version.
  
Update Your Profile
This option allows you to automatically update your online user profile information. If you choose to 
change your user name and select a new one online, you must then update the user name on your 
tablet.
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings  > System Updates > Update Profile.
