Access Settings
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings .
The settings menu opens.
 2. Select categories and then select your settings options.
Settings are made and applied.
Tip: You can also access settings from the notification panel. Pull down the status bar and tap 
Settings .
Wi-Fi Settings Menu
The Wi-Fi settings menu lets you turn Wi-Fi on or off, set up and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, 
and configure advanced Wi-Fi options.

 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings .
 2. Tap Wi-Fi.
The Wi-Fi settings menu appears.
 3. Tap the Wi-Fi slider to turn Wi-Fi on .
Wi-Fi is enabled. You will see the names and security settings of in-range Wi-Fi networks.
 l To disable Wi-Fi, tap the slider again .
 4. Tap a Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and tap Connect.

Your tablet is connected to the selected Wi-Fi network.
 5. Configure your Wi-Fi settings.
Your Wi-Fi settings changes are saved.
 l The password, for a household wireless LAN router, is sometimes found on a sticker on the 
router (WEP, WPA, KEY, etc.yf. Contact the router manufacturer for information. For 
password for a public wireless LAN, check with user's service provider.
 l Entering a password is not required if an access point is not securely protected.
Advanced Wi-Fi Settings
The advanced Wi-Fi settings menu lets you set up and manage wireless access points.
 n Scanning Always Available: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced > Scanning 
always available.
 l Tap Scanning always available to turn the option on or off.
 n Enable Notification when Open Networks Are Available: From Wi-Fi settings, Tap Menu  
> Advanced > Network notification.
 l The setting is available when Wi-Fi is turned on.
 l Tap Network notification to turn the option on or off.
 n Set Timing for Pausing a Connection: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced > Keep 
Wi-Fi on during sleep mode and then select a setting.

 n Install Certificates: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced > Install certificates and 
then select a file.
 n Wi-Fi Direct: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced > Wi-Fi Direct to select a setting.
 n WPS Push Button: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced > WPS Push Button to 
wait for the device to respond.
 n WPS Pin Entry: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced > WPS Pin Entry to wait for the 
device to respond.
 n Check MAC Address: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced.
 l MAC Address appears below “MAC Address.”
 n Check IP Address: From Wi-Fi settings, tap Menu  > Advanced.
 l IP Address appears below “IP Address.” 
Bluetooth Settings
Your tablet’s Bluetooth capabilities let you use wireless headsets, send and receive pictures and 
files, and more. For details on your tablet’s Bluetooth usage, see Bluetooth. 
 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings .
 2. Tap Bluetooth.
The Bluetooth settings open.

Bluetooth Settings Operations
 n Enable Bluetooth: In Bluetooth settings, tap the slider  or .
 l When enabled, confirmation appears for your tablet to be discoverable by other devices. 
Follow the onscreen instructions.
 l Tap to enable and  to disable.
 l Alternatively, tap Bluetooth > or .
 n Pairing Bluetooth Devices: Make sure the other devices are set to be discovered. From 
Bluetooth settings, tap the device name in “Available devices” and follow the onscreen 
instructions.
 l Depending on the device, you may be required to enter or accept a passkey.
 l If the target device does not appear, tap Refresh to search again.
 l This setting is available when Bluetooth is enabled.
 n Change the Name of a Paired Device: From Bluetooth settings, tap Settings  next to a 
paired device name, tap Name, enter a new name, and tap OK.
 l Emoji cannot be used in a device name.
 l This setting is available when Bluetooth is enabled.
 n Cancelling Pairing: From Bluetooth settings, tap Settings  next to a paired device name, 
and then tap FORGET.
 l This setting is available when Bluetooth is enabled.
 n Enable Service from Paired Device: From Bluetooth settings, tap Settings  next to a 
paired device name, and then mark Internet access or Contact sharing.
 n Search for Other Devices: From Bluetooth settings, tap Menu  > Refresh.
 l This setting is available when Bluetooth is enabled.
 n Check Files Received via Bluetooth Transfer: From Bluetooth settings, tap Menu  > Show 
received files, and follow the onscreen instructions.
Data Usage Settings
The Data usage menu lets you view your tablet’s mobile and Wi-Fi data usage, set data limits, 
restrict hotspot usage, and more.

 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings .
 2. Tap Data usage.
The data usage window opens.
Data Usage Settings Operations
 n Cellular data: In Data usage window, tap the slider  for Mobile data to enable the service.
 l When enabled, confirmation appears for your tablet to be discoverable by other devices. 
Follow the onscreen instructions.
 l Tap to enable and  to disable.
 n Set Amount for Alert when Data Usage Increases: From the Data usage window, insert a 
check mark next to Set mobile data warning, and then drag the horizontal warning slider up 
and down to set an amount.
 l Data usage amounts are approximate. Actual amounts may differ.
 l This setting is available when Mobile data is enabled.
 n Enable Restrictions on Mobile Data Usage: From the Data usage window, tap Set cellular 
data limit to enable restriction.
 l When enabled, confirmation appears for your tablet to be discoverable by other devices. 
Follow the onscreen instructions.
 l Tap to enable and  to disable.

 l With restriction turned on, drag the horizontal Limit slider up or down to set the data usage 
limit.
 l This setting is available when Mobile data is enabled.
 n Enable Restriction on Mobile Data in Background: From the Data usage window, tap 
Menu  > Restrict background data > OK.
 l This setting stops some apps and services from working unless your tablet is connected to a 
Wi-Fi network.
 l If a confirmation appears, tap OK.
 l This setting is available when Limit mobile data usage is on.
 n View Both Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Usage: From the Data usage window, tap Menu  > Show 
Wi-Fi. 
 l When Show Wi-Fi is enabled, you will see a Wi-Fi tab at the top of the Data usage window. 
Tap to view your tablet’s Wi-Fi data usage.

The More settings menu provides access to additional wireless and network options, such as 
airplane mode, tethering and portable hotspot, and VPN.

Virtual Private Networks (VPNyf
From your tablet, you can add, set up, and manage virtual private networks (VPNsyf that allow you to 
connect and access resources inside a secured local network, such as your corporate network.
Prepare Your Tablet for VPN Connection 
Depending on the type of VPN you are using at work, you may be required to enter your login 
credentials or install security certificates before you can connect to your company’s local network. 
You can get this information from your network administrator.
Before you can initiate a VPN connection, your tablet must first establish a Wi-Fi or data connection. 
For information about setting up and using these connections on your tablet, see Chrome Browser 
and Turn Wi-Fi On and Connect to a Wireless Network.
Set Up Secure Credential Storage 
If your network administrator instructs you to download and install security certificates, you must first 
set up the tablet’s secure credential storage before setting up a VPN.

 1. From home, tap Apps  > Settings . 
 2. Tap Security, and then tap Screen lock > Password.
 3. Enter a new password (at least eight characters without any spacesyf for the credential storage, 
scroll down and confirm the password, and then tap OK.
The password is set, allowing secure credential storage.

 4. Tap Back  to return to the main settings menu, and then tap Security.
 5. Tap Trusted credentials and then tap your preferred system and user credentials.
Your secure credentials storage is set.
You can then download and install the certificates needed to access your local network. Your 
network administrator can tell you how to do this.
