FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM 8-57 Fault code No. 22 SymptomIntake air temperature sensor:open or short circuit detected. Diagnostic code No. 05 Intake air temperature sensor Order Item/components and probable cause Check or maintenance job Reinstatement method 1 Connections Intake air temperature sensor cou- pler Main wire harness ECU coupler Sub-wire harness coupler Check the couplers for any pins that may be pulled out. Check the locking condition of the couplers. If there is a malfunction, repair it and connect the coupler securely. Turning the main switch to “ON”. 2 Open or short circuit in wire harness. Repair or replace if there is an open or short circuit. Between intake air temperature sensor coupler and ECU cou- pler. (Brown/White–Brown/White) (Black/Blue–Black/Blue) 3 Defective intake air temperature sen- sor. Execute the diagnostic mode. (Code No.05) Replace if defective. Start and warm up the engine until the cool- ant tempera- ture rises over 60 °C. when accelerat- ing the throttle, the waring light is turned off, or it is reset by the diagnostic mode (Code No.63). 2 Connections O 2 sensor coupler Main wire harness ECU coupler Check the couplers for any pins that may be pulled out. Check the locking condition of the couplers If there is a malfunction, repair it and connect the coupler securely. 3 Open or short circuit in wire harness. Repair or replace if there is an open or short circuit. Between O 2 sensor coupler and ECU coupler. Turning the main switch to ”ON” (however, the engine can- not be restarted unless the main switch is first turned to “OFF”). 2 Installed state of the lean angle sen- sor Check the installed direction and condition of the sensor. 3 Connections Lean angle sensor coupler Main wire harness ECU coupler Check the coupler for any pins that may be pulled out. Check the locking condition of the coupler. If there is a malfunction, repair it and connect the coupler securely. 4 Defective lean angle sensor Execute the diagnostic mode.
