    4K Still Image PB
    Outputs  still  images in 4K resolution to an HDMI-connected TV that supports 4K. 1.  Turn off this product and the TV.
    2 .  Connect the HDMI micro  terminal of this product to the HDMI jack of the TV using an
    HDMI cable (sold separately).
    3.  Turn on the TV and switch the input.
    4 .  Turn on this product.
    5 .  Play  back a still  image,  then  press  the bottom of the control  wheel.
    The still  image is output in 4K resolution.
    You can output still  images in 4K resolution by selecting  MENU  →(Playback)  →
    [4K  Still Image PB]  → [OK] .
    Note 
    						
    							This menu  is only available  with 4K-compatible TVs. For details, refer to the operating
    instructions of the TV.

    ViewingUsing viewing functions
    Beauty Effect
    Allows you to apply the Beauty Effect to retouch the still  image of a person and make  it look
    better, for example, by retouching it for smoother skin, larger eyes, and whiter teeth.  You can
    set the effects  from level 1 to level 5. An image on which the Beauty Effect is used is saved
    as a new file. The original image is retained as it is. 1.  MENU  → 
     (Playback )  → [Beauty Effect] .
    2 .  Select the face for which you want to use the Beauty Effect.
    3 .  Select the desired effect  and perform  the retouching according to the operation method
    in each mode.
    (Skin Toning ):
    Adjusts the skin color as you like.
    1.  Select the base skin color using 
    /, then  press  .
    2 .  Increase or decrease the color tone  using 
    /.
    (Skin Smoothing ):
    Removes age spots and wrinkles from the skin. 
    Adjust the effect  level using 
    /.
    ( Shine Removal ):
    Reduces  the look of oily  skin. Adjusts the skin color as you like. 
    Adjust the effect  level using 
    /.
    ( Eye Widening):
    Enlarges  the eyes of the subject.  Adjust the size of the eyes using 
    /.
    ( Teeth Whitening ):
    Whiten the teeth of the subject.  You may not be able to whiten the teeth in some
    images.
    Adjust the teeth whiteness  using

    To use two or more effects  with [Beauty Effect] one after  another, first apply an effect  to
    the image,  then  select another effect  using 
    /. 
    						
    							Note
    You cannot  use [Beauty Effect] for the following images:
    Panoramic images
    Movies
    You cannot  use the Beauty Effect on an extremely small facial image.
    To use the Beauty Effect on two or more faces, select the same  image again  after  the
    effect  has been applied once,  and then  use the effect  on another face.
    The [Beauty Effect] may not work properly for some  images.

    ViewingViewing  images on a TV
    Viewing images on an HD TV
    To view  images stored on this product using a TV, an HDMI cable (sold separately)  and an
    HD  TV equipped with an HDMI jack are  required. 1.  Turn off both  this product and the TV.
    2 .  Connect the HDMI micro  terminal of this product to the HDMI jack of the TV using an
    HDMI cable (sold separately).
    3.  Turn on the TV and switch the input.
    4 .  Turn on this product.
    Images shot with the product appear on the TV screen.
    Hint
    This product is compatible with the PhotoTV HD  standard. If you connect  Sony PhotoTV
    HD -compatible devices using an HDMI cable (sold separately), the TV is set to the image
    quality suitable  for viewing still  images,  and a whole new world of photos  can be enjoyed
    in breathtaking  high quality.
    You can connect  this product to Sony PhotoTV HD -compatible devices with a USB 
    						
    							terminal using the supplied micro  USB cable.
    The PhotoTV HD  allows for a highly-detailed, photo -like  expression of subtle textures and
    colors.
    For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the compatible TV.
    Note
    Do not connect  this product and another device using the output terminals of both. Doing
    so may cause a malfunction.
    Some devices may not work properly when connected to this product. For example, they
    may not output video or audio.
    Use an HDMI cable with the HDMI logo or a genuine Sony cable.
    Use an HDMI cable that is compatible with the HDMI micro  terminal of the product and
    the HDMI jack of the TV.
    If images do not appear on the TV screen  properly, select [HDMI Settings] from [1080i] ,
    [2160p/1080p] or [1080p] using 
     (Setup )  → [HDMI Settings]  → [HDMI Resolution]
    according to the TV to be connected.

    ViewingViewing  images on a TV
    Viewing images on a “BRAVIA” Sync-compatible TV
    By connecting this product to a TV that supports “BRAVIA” Sync using an HDMI cable (sold
    separately), you can operate this products playback  functions  with the TV remote control. 1.  Turn off both  this product and the TV.
    2 .  Connect the HDMI micro  terminal of the product to the HDMI jack of the TV using an
    HDMI cable (sold separately).
    3.  Turn on the TV and switch the input.
    4 .  Turn on this product.
    5 .  MENU  → 
    (Setup)  → [HDMI Settings ]  → [CTRL FOR HDMI ]  → [On]. 
    						
    							6.  Press the SYNC MENU  button on the TV Remote  Control,  and select the desired
    mode.
    Note
    If the product is not in playback  mode, press  the (Playback) button.
    Only TVs that support “BRAVIA” Sync can provide SYNC MENU  operations.  For details,
    refer to the operating instructions supplied with the TV.
    If the product performs  unwanted operations in response to the TV Remote  Control when
    the product is connected to another manufacturer’s TV using an HDMI connection, select
    MENU  → 
    (Setup)  → [HDMI Settings]  → [CTRL FOR HDMI]  → [Off].

    Monitor Brightness
    You can adjust the brightness of the screen. 1.  MENU  →

    Viewfinder Bright.
    When using an electronic viewfinder, this product adjusts the brightness of the electronic
    viewfinder  according to the surrounding environment.
    1.  MENU  → 
    (Setup)  → [Viewfinder  Bright.]  → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    Auto:
    Adjusts the brightness of the electronic viewfinder  automatically. 
    						
    							Manual :
    Selects the brightness of the electronic viewfinder  from the range –2 to +2.
    Note
    When you use the AC adaptor AC-UD10 (sold separately)  when the setting  is [Auto], the
    viewfinder  is always set to the brightest setting.
    [145] How  to Use

    Finder Color Temp.
    Adjusts the color temperature of the electronic viewfinder. 1.  MENU  → 
     (Setup) →  [Finder Color Temp.] → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    -2 to  +2:
    When you select “-,” the viewfinder  screen  changes to a warmer color,  and when you select
    “+,” it changes to a colder color.

    Function for VF close
    Sets  whether to turn the power off when the viewfinder  is stowed.
    1.  MENU  → 
    (Setup )  → [Function for VF close] → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    Power  OFF:
    Turns the power off when the viewfinder  is stowed.
    Not Power  OFF:
    Does not turn the power off when the viewfinder  is stowed.
    Note
    Push the eyepiece  into the viewfinder  before stowing the viewfinder. If you try to squeeze 
    						
    							the viewfinder  into the camera with the eyepiece  pulled out, the viewfinder  may be
    subjected to force and become damaged.

    Volume Settings
    Sets  the sound volume. 1.  MENU  → 
    (Setup)  → [Volume Settings]  → desired setting.
    Adjusting the volume during playback
    Press the bottom of the control  wheel while playing back movies to display the operation
    panel, then  adjust the volume.  You can adjust the volume while listening to the actual sound.

    Audio signals
    Selects whether the product produces a sound or not.
    1.  MENU  → 
     (Setup )  → [Audio signals]  → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    On: 
    Sounds are  produced for example when the focus is achieved  by pressing the shutter button
    halfway down.
    Shutter:  
    Only the shutter sound is produced.
    Off :  
    Sounds are  not produced.
    Note
    If the shooting mode  is set to [Scene Selection] and [Adv.Sports Shooting] is selected,  the
    camera will not beep when it focuses  on a subject.

    GPS On/Off (DSC-HX90V)
    You can record the location  information  with the images when the built-in GPS sensor  of this
    product can acquire the location  information. Using the software PlayMemories Home,  you
    can import the images recorded  with the location  information  to a computer and enjoy
    viewing them on a map  which shows their  shooting location. Refer  to the Help of
    PlayMemories Home for details.1.  MENU  → 
     (Setup )  → [GPS Settings] →  [GPS On/Off] → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    On:
    The GPS function  is activated.
    Off :
    The GPS function  is turned off. 
    The status icon on the screen  may differ depending on the conditions  of the signals emitted
    from the satellites.
    No icon is displayed:
    [GPS On/Off] is set to [Off]  or an error has occurred.
    :
    The product cannot  find a GPS signal, therefore, it cannot  acquire the location  information.
    Use the product in an open area.
    :
    The product is searching for GPS satellites. It may take some  time to start  triangulating.
    :
    The product can acquire the current location  information.
    :
    An error occurred with the GPS function. Turn off the product, and turn it on again.
    To receive a GPS signal
    Proper  triangulation  is not possible indoors or near  tall buildings. Use the product in an
    open area  outside,  and turn the product off and on again.
    It may take from ten seconds to several minutes  to acquire the location  information.
    You can shorten the time of triangulation  by using the GPS assist data.
    Note
    It may take from ten seconds to several minutes  to acquire the location  information  when 
    						
    							you turn on this product. If you shoot  images before the product acquires the location
    information, the information  is not recorded  on the images.  To record a correct location
    information, first make  sure  the product receives the GPS signal, then  shoot  the images.
    Check whether the location  information  has been recorded  by displaying  latitude and
    longitude on the playback  screen  after  shooting.
    While  searching for satellites and triangulating, do not put your  finger  over  the Wi-Fi
    sensor  (built-in). This may decrease the receiver sensitivity, making it difficult or
    impossible to triangulate your  location.
    During  take off and landing of an airplane, set [Airplane  Mode] to [On].
    Use GPS in accordance with the regulations of the countries or regions where you use
    the product.

    GPS Auto Time Cor. (DSC-HX90V)
    The product acquires the time information  using GPS while the product is turned on, and the
    information  is used for maintaining the accurate time setting. The product adjusts the time
    setting  when it is turned off. 1.  MENU  → 
     (Setup )  → [GPS Settings] →  [GPS Auto Time Cor.] → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    On:
    Uses GPS auto  time correction.
    Off :
    Does not use GPS auto  time correction.
    Note
    [GPS Auto Time Cor.] is not available  when [GPS On/Off] is set to [Off].
    Before  using the [GPS Auto Time Cor.] function, set [Date/Time Setup] .
    The corrected time may differ from the actual time for a few seconds.
    [GPS Auto Time Cor.] may not activate  correctly in some  areas.
    [151] How  to Use

    GPS Auto Area Adj. (DSC-HX90V) 
    						
    							Corrects the time difference automatically if the product detects the difference by acquiring
    current location  information  via the GPS system.1.  MENU   →
    (Setup)  → [GPS Settings]  → [GPS Auto Area Adj.]  → desired setting.
    Menu item details
    On:
    Corrects the time difference automatically.
    Off:
    Does not correct the time difference automatically.
    Note
    When [GPS On/Off] is set to [Off] , this function  is disabled.
    Set  [Date/Time Setup] in advance.
    [GPS Auto Area Adj.]  may not function  correctly depending on the location. In that case,
    set this setting  to [Off].

    Use GPS Assist Data (DSC-HX90V)
    The time taken  for the GPS acquiring location  information  can be shortened  by using GPS
    assist data. To update the GPS assist data  automatically, connect  this product to a computer
    via a USB cable. (The software PlayMemories Home should  be installed on the computer in
    advance.)
    Confirming the expiry date of the GPS assist data
    1 .  MENU  →  (Setup )  → [GPS Settings] →  [Use GPS Assist Data] .
    Note
    The computer should  be connected to the internet for updating the GPS assist data.
    If the term of validity of the GPS assist data  has expired, it cannot  be used to shorten the
    time for recording the location  information. We recommend you to update the GPS assist
    data  regularly. The expiry date  of the GPS assist data  is approximately within 30 days.
    If [Date/Time Setup] has not been set, or the set time is shifted  greatly, the time for the
    GPS acquiring location  information  cannot  be shortened.
    For various reasons, Sony may stop providing the GPS assist data.
    Updating the GPS assist data by inserting the memory card to your
    computer
