(Refer to P12.) Connect audio output from computer or video equipment to these jacks. (Refer to P12, 13.) AUDIO INPUT JACKS VIDEO INPUT JACKS S-VIDEO INPUT JACK Connect video output to these jacks. Connect composite video output to VIDEO/Y or connect component video outputs to VIDEO/Y, Pb(Cb) and Pr(Cr). (Refer to P12.) Connect computer or video output to these jacks. BNC JACKS Connect computer output to this terminal. (Refer to P13.) RGB TERMINAL This projector has INPUT TERMINALS and OUTPUT TERMINALS on its side for connecting computers and video equipment. Refer to the figure on pages 11 to 13 and connect properly. Connect an external audio amplifier to these jacks. (Refer to P12, 13.) AUDIO OUTPUT JACKS This projector uses a micro processor to control the unit. Occasionally, the micro processor may malfunction and need to be reset. This can be done by pressing RESET button with a pen, which will shut down and restart the unit. Do not use RESET function excessively. RESET BUTTON When using Remote Control Unit as Wired Remote Control, Connect Remote Control Unit to this jack with Remote Control Cable (supplied). (Refer to page 16, 17.) R/C JACK When controlling this projector by computer, connect your computer to this terminal. SERIAL PORT TERMINAL Connect an external speaker system to this jack. (Refer to P12, 13.) 17 BEFORE OPERATION OPENOPEN 123 Slide the lid upward.Press the lid downward and slide it. Remove the battery compartment lid.Slide 2 batteries into the compartment.Replace the compartment lid. REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES INSTALLATION Two AA size batteries For correct polarity (+ and –), be sure the battery terminals are in contact with pins in the compartment. WIRED REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION When using this Remote Control Unit as Wired Remote Control, Connect Remote Control Unit to R/C JACK with Remote Control Cable (supplied). Batteries installation is required when using as Wired Remote Control Unit. INPUT 1 R/C JACK Remote Control Cable (supplied) To insure safe operation, please observe the following precautions : Use (2) AA, UM3 or R06 type alkaline batteries. Replace two batteries at the same time. Do not use a new battery with a used battery. Avoid contact with water or liquid. Do not expose Remote Control Unit to moisture, or heat. Do not drop Remote Control Unit. If batteries have leaked on Remote Control Unit, carefully wipe the case clean and load new batteries.
18 LENS SHIFT KEYSTONE SELECT NORMAL MENU BEFORE OPERATION HOW TO OPERATE ON-SCREEN MENU FLOW OF ON-SCREEN MENU OPERATION Display ON-SCREEN MENU Press MENU button to display ON-SCREEN MENU (MENU BAR). A red frame is POINTER. Move POINTER (red frame) to MENU ICON that you want to select by pressing POINT RIGHT / LEFT buttons. Adjust ITEM DATA by pressing POINT buttons. Refer to the following pages for details of respective adjustments. Press POINT DOWN button and move POINTER (red frame or red arrow) to ITEM that you want to adjust, and then press SELECT button to show Item Data. Select item to be adjusted Control and adjust through ON-SCREEN MENU 1 2 4 3 You can control and adjust this projector through ON- SCREEN MENU. 20 BASIC OPERATION TURNING ON PROJECTOR Connect the projectors AC Power Cord into an AC outlet and turn MAIN ON / OFF SWITCH to ON. LAMP Indicator lights RED, and READY Indicator lights GREEN. Press POWER ON-OFF button on Top Control or on Remote Control Unit to ON. LAMP Indicator dims, and Cooling Fans start to operate. Preparation Display appears on a screen and the count-down starts. The signal from the PC or Video source appears after 30 seconds. 2 3 TURNING OFF THE PROJECTOR Press POWER ON-OFF button on Top Control or on Remote Control Unit, and the message Power off? appears on a screen. Press POWER ON-OFF button again to turn off projector. LAMP Indicator lights bright and READY Indicator turns off. After projector is turned off, Cooling Fans operate (for 90 seconds). During this Cooling Down period, this appliance cannot be turned on. 1 2 TO MAINTAIN THE LIFE OF LAMP, ONCE YOU TURN PROJECTOR ON, WAIT AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE TURNING IT OFF. TURNING ON / OFF PROJECTOR When WARNING TEMP. Indicator flashes red, projector is automatically turned off. Wait at least 5 minutes before turning on projector again. When WARNING TEMP. Indicator continues to flash, follow procedures below: 1. Turn MAIN ON / OFF SWITCH to OFF and disconnect the AC Power Cord from a AC outlet. 2. Check Air Filters for dust accumulation. 3. Clean Air Filters. (See AIR FILTER CARE AND CLEANING section on page 38.) 4. Turn projector on again. If WARNING TEMP. Indicator should still continue to flash, contact the sales dealer where you purchased this projector or service center. 1Complete the peripheral connections (with Computer, VCR, etc.) before turning on projector. (Refer to CONNECTING TO PROJECTOR on Pages 11~13 for connecting that equipment.) 3When projector has cooled down, READY Indicator turns to green again and you can turn projector on. After cooling down completely, turn MAIN ON / OFF SWITCH to OFF and disconnect AC Power Cord. 30 Preparation Display disappears after 30 seconds. Power off? Message disappears after 4 seconds. When “Power Management” function is ON, projector detects signal interruption and turns off Projection Lamp automatically. Refer to “Power Management” on page 37. NOTE : When “On start” function is ON, this projector is turned on automatically by switching MAIN ON / OFF SWITCH on. (Refer to page 37.)
