Display Settings Configure your phone's display. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Touch Display for options. Wallpaper Customize the background of the Home and Lock screens. For more information, refer to “Wallpaper” on page 27 . Notification Panel Configure the Notification pane l, available when you swipe your finger down from Status bar at the top of the screen. For more information, refer to “Notification Panel” on page 20 . Screen Mode Optimize the image or media being displayed. 1. To u c h Screen mode for options: • Adapt display : Automatically optimize the screen to match the type of image or media being displayed and other criteria, such as battery level. • When Adapt display is disabled, select a specific screen mode to match the content being display. LED Indicator This option allows you to turn on your LED lights for charging, missed events, and incoming notifications. The light will turn on by default unless you turn them off. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔My deviceMy device ➔ Display . 2. Touch LED indicator for options: •Charging : The red LED lights up when you charge your device while the screen is off. •Low battery : The red LED blinks when the battery power is low while the screen is off. • Notifications : The blue LED blinks when you have missed calls, messages, or app notifications while the screen is off. • Voice recording : The blue LED blinks when you record voice while the screen is off. Sound Settings Configure settings for your phone's sound and audio. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔My deviceMy device ➔ Display . 2. Touch Sound for options. You can also adjust volume from this default inside the apps. •Ringtone : Set the volume for incoming call ringtones. • Notifications : Set the volume for notifications, such as new messages and event reminders. •System : Set the volume for all other system sounds, such as keytones played for screen touches. You can control whether tones play for screen touches with other sound settings. Ringtones Choose a ringtone for incoming calls. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Touch Sound ➔ Ringtones . 3. Touch a ringtone to select it. As you touch a ringtone, a sample plays. 4. Touch Add to choose a music track from Google Music or Music Player. Vibrations Choose a vibration pattern to use when vibration is enabled. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Touch Sound ➔ Vibrations . 3. Touch a vibration pattern to select it. As you touch a pattern, a sample of the vibration occurs. 4. To create your own pattern, touch Create. Touch Tap to create and tap the screen to enter a new pattern. Default Notification Sound Choose a default sound to play for notifications, such as for new messages and event reminders. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Adapt Sound Find the best sound for you duri ng calls and media playback. Note: This setting uses earphones to ensure the best sound during setup. You must connect optional earphones (not included) to the phone to configure this setting. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Touch Sound ➔ Adapt Sound . 3. Read the instructions, then touch Start. Touch Call ➔ Call rejection for options: • Auto reject mode : Set how the phone responds for rejected calls (Off, All nu mbers, or Auto reject numbers). • Auto reject list : Enter phone numbers to reject. – Touch to enable Unavailable to reject calls with no caller ID. – Touch Create and follow the prompts to enter numbers to reject, or select them from Contacts. To u c h Match criteria to set options for using the reject number list. Set Up Call Rejection Messages Create and manage text message s to send to callers when rejecting incoming calls. Answering/Ending Calls Manage settings for answering and ending calls. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Touch Call ➔ Answering/ending calls . 3. Configure options: • The home key answers calls : Answer an incoming call by pressing the Home Key . • Voice control : Answer calls by speaking commands. – You can answer or reject calls with the voice commands “Answer” and “Reject.” – When you answer a call with a voice command, the speaker will automatically turn on for hands-free calls. • The power key ends calls : End a call by pressing the Power/Lock Key. When enabled, pressing the Power/Lock Key during a call will not lock the screen. Turn Off Screen During Calls Set the screen to automaticall y turn off during phone calls when you move the phone to your ear. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. To u c h Call. 3. To u c h Turn off screen during calls to enable or disable the feature. Call Alerts Set options for sounds and vibrations to occur during calls. 1. Configure options: • Vibrate on connection to network : Vibrate when a call connects to the network. • Call-end vibration : Vibrate when the other caller ends the call. • Call connect tone : Play a tone when the person you called answers . • Minute minder : Play once per minute during a call. • Call end tone : Play a tone when the other caller ends the call. • Alerts on call : Play notifications for alarms and new messages play during calls. Call Accessories Configure options for using a headset (not included). 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. Touch Call ➔ Call accessories. 3. Configure settings: • Automatic answering : When a headset is connected, incoming calls are answered au tomatically after a delay (set with the Automatic answering timer setting). • Automatic answering timer : Choose a time period to delay before automatically an swering an incoming call when Automatic answering is enabled and a headset is connected to the device. • Outgoing call conditions : When a Bluetooth headset is connected, allow calls to be made even when the device is locked. Ringtones and Keypad Tones Choose tones and vibration to use for incoming calls and keypad touches. 1. From the Home screen, touch Apps ➔ Settings ➔ My deviceMy device . 2. To u c h Call ➔ Ringtones and keypad tones . 3.
