Ink film
Replace the used ink film with a new one.
Replacement film Model No. KX-FA93: prints about 225 letter-sized pages.
See page 7 for accessory information.
1Open the front cover by pulling up the 
center part.
2Push the back cover open button (green) 
on the right side of the unit.
OR
Push the back cover open lever (green) 
inside of the unit.
3Open the back cover.
4Remove the used core and the used ink 
film.

7Turn the gear of blue core in the direction of 
the arrow.

Make sure that the ink film is wrapped 
around the blue core at least once.
8Close the back cover securely by pushing 
down on the dotted area at both ends (

Close the front cover securely (
).

The following message will be displayed 
while the unit is checking that there is no 
slack in the ink film.
PLEASE WAIT
Note:

The ink film is safe to touch, and will not rub 
off...

Recording paper jam 
When the recording paper has 
jammed in the unit
The display will show the following.

1Open the front cover by pulling up the 
center part.
2Push the back cover open button (green) 
on the right side of the unit.
OR
Push the back cover open lever (green) 
inside of the unit.
3Open the back cover.
4Remove the jammed recording paper.

When the recording paper was 
not fed into the unit properly

Remove the recording paper and straighten. Pull 
the tension plate forward and hold open while 
inserting paper.

Document feeder
If misfeeding occurs frequently or if smudges, black lines or white lines appear on a transmitted 
document or on the original of a copied document, clean the document feeder.
1Disconnect the power cord and the 
telephone line cord.
2Open the front cover by pulling up the 
center part.
3Clean the document feeder rollers and 
rubber flap with a cloth moistened with 
isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let all parts 
dry...

Thermal head
If smudges or black/white lines appear on a copied or received document, check whether there is dust 
on the thermal head and roller shaft, and clean the thermal head to remove the dust.
