    indicators that sh\eow the positions of \ethe optical 
    zoom. They will not work for electronic zooming.

    What to do when en\pcountering problems in 
    the basic shooting\p operations
    If the trouble is not resolved by taking the action \esuggested 
    below, refer to “Troubleshooting” (page 43 in the )\e.
    When performing the operatio\pns  
    using the wireless \premote control
    The unit does not \pmove.
    p
     Press the [C\bM1], [C\e\bM2], [C\bM3] or [C\bM\e4] button to 
    select the unit whic\eh is to be operated.  
    If only one unit is\e being used, it is \enormally selected using \e
    the [C\bM1] button.
    p
     Check that the IR ID switches have been set correctly. 
    (Refer to pages 37 and 4\e0 in the .)\e
    p
     If the unit’s status display lamp is off or lig\ehts up orange, it 
    means that the unit\e’s power is not on.  
    Refer to “Turning the power on” (page 8), and turn on the 
    power.
    p
     If the unit’s status display lamp does not blink even when 
    the wireless remote c\eontrol is operated near the unit’s 
    wireless remote contr\eol signal light-sens\eing area, it means \e
    that the wireless rem\eote control’s batteries have run down.  
    Replace the batteries.
    \bultiple color bands \p(color bars) are displa\fed.
    Press the [MOD\f] button to switch to the camera picture.
    The menu screen is displa\fed.
    Press the [M\fNU] button for 2 seconds to exit the camera 
    menu.
    The lens focus is not adjust\ped automaticall\f.
    Press the [\b/FOCUS] \ebutton to switch to auto focusing.
    (\buto focusing does not work during panning or tilt\eing 
    operations.)
    The camera picture \pis too light or too\p dark.
    1.     Press the [\b/IRIS] b\eutton to switch the lens iris 
    adjustment to auto.
    2.     Press the [\bUTO] button of [G\bIN] to \eswitch the gain 
    adjustment to auto.
    Something is wrong with the colori\png of the 
    camera pictures.
    Refer to “\buto tracking white adjustment (\bTW)” (page 25), and 
    switch to “\bTW”.
    The camera menus are not displa\fed.
    When color bar sign\eals are output, the \ecamera menus are 
    not displayed with composite si\egnals.
    To operate the camera menus with composite s\eignals, set the 
    color bar display to OFF.
    When performing the operatio\pns using the contr\poller
    The unit does not \pmove.

     Select the unit to b\ee operated by following the procedure 
    below.
    When the AW‑RP655 is connecte\pd:
    Press the [1], [2],\e [3], [4] or [5] b\eutton of [CONTROL/
    PR\fVI\fW MONITOR OUT S\fL].
    When the AW‑RP555 is connecte\pd:
    Press the [1], [2],\e [3], [4] or [5] b\eutton of [CONTROL].
    When the AW‑RP50 is connected\p:
    Refer to the Operating Instructions of the cont\eroller.
    p
     If the [OP\fR\bT\f] lamp on the cont\eroller is off, it means 
    that the power of the controller \eis not on.
    p
     If the unit’s status display lamp is off or lig\ehts up orange, it 
    means that the unit\e’s power is not on.  
    Refer to “Turning the power on” (page 8), and turn on the 
    power.

     Up to 100 settings for the camera direction (pannin\eg and 
    tilting), zoom, focus, iris, gain up and white balance can be 
    registered in the pre\eset memories, and called.
    p
     The number of settings t\ehat can be registere\ed and 
    called depends on the \etype of wireless remo\ete control 
    (12 settings) or contro\eller that is used for operation.
    White balance adjus\ptment  
    (see pages 23 to 26)
    p
     This adjustment is \eperformed to express the white 
    accurately. Its setting also h\eas an effect on the color ton\ees 
    of the entire screen.\e
    p
     It must be performed when using the u\enit for the first 
    time or when the uni\et has not been used \efor a prolonged 
    period.
    p
     It must be performed when the lightin\eg conditions or 
    brightness has change\ed.
    p
     Once the white balan\ece has been attained\e, no further 
    adjustment is requi\ered provided that the unit\e is going to be 
    used under the same \econditions.
    Black level (master pedestal\p) adjustment  
    (see pages 27 to 28)

     This adjustment is \eperformed to align the black level 
    (pedestal level) of a multiple number of cameras.

    Genlock adjustment (AW‑HE60S onl\f)

     This adjustment is \eperformed to achieve phase alignment 
    by applying external synchronization\e (genlock) when a 
    multiple number of cameras will be used or w\ehen the unit 
    will be used in comb\eination with other \edevices.

    The lens focus can be adjuste\ed manually.
    When performing the operatio\pns  
    using the wireless \premote control
    1	Press the [\b/FOCUS] \pbutton to switch the 
    focus to manual adjustment.
    2	Press the [F] or [\pN] button of [FOCUS] to\p adjust 
    the focus.
    When the [F] button is pressed, th\ee focus moves further 
    away (far); conversely, when the [N] button is pressed, it\e 
    moves nearer (near).
    The speed of focusing and other a\edjustments can 
    be switched to fast or slow by pressing the [F\bST] or 
    [SLOW] button, respectively.
    3	If necessar\f, press the [A/FOCUS]\p button to 
    return the focus to the automa\ptic adjustment.

    When the AW‑RP655 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [EXT(AF)\p] button to switch the focus 
    to manual adjustment.
    2	Adjust the focus manuall\f b\f turning the dial \p
    above the lit [FOCUS] la\pmp whether it is th\pe 
    lamp of the [PAN/TILT] lever or [ZOO\b] lever.
    Furthermore, every time the [SP\f\fD] b\eutton is pressed, 
    the speed of the focusing and other a\edjustments can be 
    switched to fast or slow.
    3	If necessar\f, press the [EXT(AF)\p] button to 
    return the focus to the automa\ptic adjustment.
    When the AW‑RP555 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [(AF)EXT\p] button to switch the focus 
    to manual adjustment.
    2	Adjust the focus manuall\f b\f tilting the 
    [FOCUS] lever.
    Furthermore, every time the [SP\f\fD] b\eutton is pressed, 
    the speed of the focusing and other a\edjustments can be 
    switched to fast or slow.
    3	If necessar\f, press the [(AF)EXT\p] button to 
    return the focus to the automa\ptic adjustment.
    When the AW‑RP50 is connected\p:
    Refer to the Operating Instructions of the cont\eroller.
    p
     When the focus is set to manual, the subject may 
    go out of focus during panning, tiltin\eg and zooming. 
    Therefore, the unit comes wi\eth a function whic\eh 
    compensates for this. (Focus compensation d\euring 
    zooming function: Focus \bDJ With PTZ.) 
    This function was set to ON at the\e factory.  
    If the function has\e been set to OFF, either adjust the \e
    focus, as required, after\e zooming or set the f\eocus to 
    auto. (See page 49 and page 81.)

    The lens iris can be adjusted \emanually.

    1	Press the [\b/IRIS] b\putton to switch the iris to 
    manual adjustment.
    2	Adjust the iris us\ping the [IRIS +] or [IRIS –] 
    button.
    Press the [IRIS +] button to adjust th\ee lens iris in the 
    opening direction; conversely, press the [IRIS –] button to 
    adjust the lens iris in the closing d\eirection.
    3	If necessar\f, press the [A/IRIS] \pbutton to return 
    the iris to the au\ptomatic adjustment\p.
    When performing the operatio\pns using the contr\poller
    When the AW‑RP655 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [IRIS] button several times to turn\p 
    off the button’s lamp and switch to manual 
    adjustment.
    2	Adjust the iris ma\pnuall\f b\f turning the dial \p
    above the lit [IRIS] lam\pp whether it is the\p lamp 
    of the [PAN/TILT] lever or [ZOO\b] lever.
    3	If necessar\f, press the [IRIS] button several 
    times and turn on \pits lamp to return \pthe iris to 
    the automatic adju\pstment.
    When the AW‑RP555 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [IRIS] button to turn off \pits lamp and 
    switch to manual adjustment.
    2	Turn the [LEVEL] di\pal of [IRIS] to adju\pst the iris 
    manuall\f.
    The position of the \e[L\fV\fL] dial does no\et represent an 
    absolute value. 
    This is why the brightness may differ from one camera to 
    another even when the dial is \eset to the same posi\etion.
    3	If necessar\f, press the [IRIS] button to turn on 
    its lamp and switch to automatic adj\pustment in 
    order to return the \piris to automatic \padjustment.
    When the AW‑RP50 is connected\p:
    Refer to the Operating Instructions of the cont\eroller.
    p
     In the night mode, the iris is set to open as\e a theft 
    prevention measures.

    speed
    The shutter speed can\e be set using two methods. One is 
    a method that specif\eies the time (where a\e time such as 
    1/250 sec. is designated), an\ed the other is a met\ehod that 
    specifies the frequen\ecy (where synchro s\ecan, 60.24 Hz*, etc. 
    is designated).
    When shooting a TV screen or PC mon\eitor screen, the 
    horizontal noise generated when the screen \eis shot can 
    be minimized by adjusting the fre\equency to the screen\e 
    frequency using syn\echro scan.
    *: This describes whe\pn the AW‑HE60HN/AW‑HE60SN is used.
    When performing the operatio\pns  
    using the wireless \premote control
    Perform the adjustments o\en the Camera menu.
    For further details, refer to the [Shutter M\eode] and  
    [Step/Synchro] items\e on page 42.
    When performing the operatio\pns using the contr\poller
    The procedure is the \esame as for “When performing the 
    operations using the wi\ereless remote control\e” in “Basic 
    operations” (pages 32 to 39).
    When the AW‑RP555 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [SHUTTER]\p button and turn its\p lamp 
    on.
    The shutter speed set\e ahead of time is s\eelected.
    2	If necessar\f, press the [SHUTTER]\p button to 
    turn its lamp off i\pn order to return the \pshutter to 
    the OFF setting.
    p
    q How to set the shutt\per speed using the \pAW‑RP555
    1	With the [\bE\bORY] button still held down, 
    press the [SHUTTER] \pbutton.
    The [PR\fS\fT] [1] to \e[5] and [6] to [10\e] buttons blink 
    alternately.
    2	Press one of the [\p1] to [8] buttons or the 
    [10] [PRESET] button — whichever button 
    corresponds to the \pshutter speed which is to 
    be set.

     The shutter speed set\eting performed here is stored i\en 
    the memory even when the power of the \bW -RP555 
    is turned off.

    There are two ways to adjust the ga\ein. One way involves 
    using the buttons on the wirele\ess remote control or\e controller; 
    the other way involves using the Camera menu or Web 
    setting.
    The gain can be adj\eusted more precisely \eusing the Camera 
    menu or Web setting.
    For further details, refer to the [Gain] it\eem on page 42 and 
    page 72.
    p
     When adjusting the \egain, the light qua\entity may 
    change suddenly (cau\esing the image outpu\et to be 
    subjected to a shoc\ek).
    Note
    When performing the operatio\pns  
    using the wireless \premote control
    1	Press the [OFF], [LOW] or [HI] button.
    These buttons enable the gain increase \eto be selected in 
    three steps.
    [LOW] is used to select\e 9 dB; [HI] is used to se\elect 18 dB.
    2	If necessar\f, press the [AUTO] button in order 
    to return the gain\p to the automatic \padjustment 
    (AGC).
    When performing the operatio\pns using the contr\poller
    When the AW‑RP655 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [GAIN] b\putton to turn off \pits lamp, and 
    then switch to manual adjustment.
    The preset gain incr\eease amount is now selected.
    For further details on the \egain increase amoun\et setting, 
    refer to the Operating Instructions of the \bW -RP655.
    2	If necessar\f, press the [GAIN] b\putton and turn 
    on the button in order to return the \pgain to the 
    automatic adjustme\pnt (AGC).
    When the AW‑RP555 is connecte\pd:
    1	Press the [GAIN] b\putton to turn off \pits lamp.
    \fach time this button is pressed, on\ee of the three gain \e
    increase amounts ca\en be selected in sequ\eence.

    can be set by the camera menu or Web setting.

    Preset memories
    This unit enables up to 100 settings for the camera direction 
    (panning and tiltin\eg), zoom, focus, iris, gain and white 
    balance to be regist\eered in its preset me\emories, and called.
    However, the number of settings t\ehat can be registere\ed and 
    called depends on the \etype of wireless remo\ete control or 
    controller that is u\esed for operation.p
     The focus and iris operating modes (manual and auto 
    settings) are neithe\er registered nor rec\ealled.  
    The current focus and iris values are registered.\e
    p
     The focus and iris values can be recalled \eonly when the 
    manual settings are appl\eicable.
    p
     \bWB \b, \bWB B or \bTW is registered as \ethe white balance 
    setting. The values selected when \bWB was established 
    are recalled as the a\edjustment values of \bWB \b or 
    \bWB B.
    p
     The \bWB Mode (\bTW, \bWB \b or \bWB B) stored using 
    the \bW -RP655 are recalled on\ely when the \bW -RP655 is 
    connected.
    p
     When there is a larg\ee difference in the environmental 
    temperature between the time of regis\etration and the 
    time the setting is \ecalled, displacement o\ef the preset 
    position may occur.
    p
     If displacement occu\ers, perform registration again.
    p
     While preset settings\e are being called, it\e is not 
    possible to perform manual operations such as 
    panning, tilting, z\eooming or iris adjustments.
    p
     If, when one set of pr\eeset settings has be\een called, 
    another set of preset\e settings is then c\ealled, the first 
    set of preset setting\es which have been called will take 
    precedence.
    Notes
    When performing the operatio\pns  
    using the wireless \premote control
    Twelve settings (preset No\e.1 to No.12) can be register\eed and 
    called using the wir\eeless remote control.\e
    The [1] to [12] buttons correspond t\eo the unit’s preset 
    memories No.1 to No.12.

    Operate the pan, tilt or\e zoom buttons to determine the 
    camera angle.

    number.
