    ≥This unit and the smartphone will be connected via Wi-Fi. When the connection to this unit is complete, 
    the image being captured by the  smartphone will be displayed on the Sub Window of this unit.
    ≥If the connection cannot be established or no image appears on  the Sub Window, follow the steps 
    below to set up the connection again:
    1 Touch the screen of this unit and touch  .
    2 Touch [Change Device] on the screen of this unit.
    3
    Close the smartphone application “Image App”, and then touch [Reset] on the device registration screen.4 Touch [YES].
    After completing the steps above, follow the procedure from Ste p 2 onwards in “Selecting this unit’s 
    SSID on the smartphone to set up a connection” in “When connect ing a smartphone to this unit as a 
    Wireless Sub Camera for the first time (To use the Wireless Mul ti-Camera function)”. (l207)
    To replace the registered smartphones
    To clear all of the registered smartphones
    Close the smartphone application “Image App”, and then touch [R eset] on the device 
    registration screen.
    ≥ A message will be displayed. Touching [YES] will clear all the  registered information, and device 
    names will be indicated as [Unregistered]. 
    ≥Wi-Fi connections made with the Wireless Multi-Camera function  are not saved as records in [History].
    Terminating the connection
    1Touch the recording screen on this unit and 
    touch  .
    2Touch [EXIT] on the screen of this unit.≥The Wi-Fi connection will be terminated.
    ≥ Close the “Image App” on the smartphone.
    ≥You can also terminate the connection by pressing the Wi-Fi but ton on this unit.
    If you press the Wi-Fi button during recording pause, a message  will be displayed. To terminate 
    the connection , touch [YES].
    1Press Wi-Fi button on this unit and touch 
    [Multi Camera].
    2Touch the name of the registered device you 
    want to replace.
    ≥Close the smartphone application “Image App”, and then 
    follow the procedure from Step 3 on page  207.
    ≥To set up a connection by scanning a QR code, follow 
    the procedure from Step 3 on page 209.
    ≥When the connection to this unit is complete, the device 
    name will be changed to that of the newly-registered device.

    The Sub Camera of this unit is not available for the Wireless T win Camera function.
    ≥ An image recorded with the Main Camera and the Wireless Sub Cam era’s image 
    displayed on the Sub Window are recorded as a single scene or s till picture*. When you 
    play back such a scene or still picture, it is not possible to  delete only the Sub Window 
    image or hide it.
    ≥ If you set [Backup for Twin Camera] to [ON], when recording ima ges with the Wireless 
    Twin/Multi-Camera function, you can also record the Main Camera ’s image without the 
    Sub Window image as a separate scene. ( l57)
    * When the Wireless Multi-Camera function is in use, still pictu res cannot be recorded.

    ≥ The status indicator ( l9) is lit green when the Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera function is 
    activated.
    ≥ When Wi-Fi is disconnected, the status indicator is lit red aga in.
    When a Wireless Sub Camera is connected :

    When the Wi-Fi signal weakensIf the signal weakens when the Sub Window is displayed, the connection status icon changes to 
    /  (Weak) and  /  flashes on the Sub Window.
    If the signal weakens further, the connection status icon changes to  /  and the Sub 
    Window image disappears. 
    ≥ You cannot perform the following operation of the Sub Window:
    jChanging the display position of the Sub Window (Only for Wirel ess Twin Camera)
    j Changing the color of the Sub Window frame
    When using the Wireless Twin Camera function
    When using the Wireless Multi-Camera function
    (When the signal condition for Wireless Sub Camera 1 weakens)
    ≥ You can operate the Sub Window again when the signal becomes st ronger.
    ≥Your Wi-Fi connection may be terminated depending on the smartp hone.

    Displaying or hiding the Sub Window
    Touch  .≥Each time you touch the icon, y ou can display or hide the 
    Sub Window.
    ≥ When the Sub Window is hidden, the Sub Window will not be 
    recorded.
    ∫ Sub Window size when using a Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera
    The size of the image displayed on the Sub Window varies depend ing on the smartphone camera 
    and the orientation of the smartphone.
    Example: Sub Window display when the Main Camera’s aspect ratio  is set to 16:9
    (The yellow frames correspond to the size of the image be displ ayed on the Sub Window.)
    * Depending on the smartphone, it may not be possible to use hor izontal orientation.

    If you have touched   (Sub Camera of this unit), rotate the Sub  Camera of this unit to enable 
    it.*
    * When the LCD monitor is closed with the screen facing outward,  the Sub Camera does not work. 
    Open the LCD monitor.
    ≥ If you have touched  / /  (Wireless Sub Camera 1/2/3), connect the  registered 
    smartphone to this unit and start up “Image App”.
    ≥ In the following cases, the Sub Window frame will be displayed  on the LCD monitor of this unit, 
    but it will not be recorded. After the Sub Camera select icons  disappear, the Sub Window is 
    displayed in semi-transparent gray.
    j When you leave the Sub Camera of this unit closed even after to uching   (Sub Camera of 
    this unit)
    j When the registered smartphone that you have selected by touchi ng  / /  
    (Wireless Sub Camera 1/2/3) is not connected to this unit, or w hen the Wi-Fi signal between 
    the smartphone and this unit is weak.

    ≥It takes some time until the Sub Window appears.
    ≥ You cannot set this unit to Playb ack Mode when it is connected to a Wireless Sub Camera.
    ≥ The following button icons may not be displayed when the Sub Wi ndow is displayed. To display 
    them, touch the Main Camera’s image on the screen.
    ≥ The following functions do not work:

    ≥ The following settings are disabled when a Wireless Sub Camera’ s image is displayed in a Sub

    ≥ Depending on recording conditions, the color balance, brightnes s and other settings may differ 
    between the Main Camera and the Wireless Sub Camera.

    ≥Recording menu items, operation icons, and functions such as Im age Stabilizer, Level Shot 
    Function and [QUICK POWER ON] wo rk only for the Main Camera.
    ≥ The Fade function’s image effects do not affect the Sub Window.
    ≥ When the “Image App” screen disappears, image transmission to t he Sub Window stops. (The 
    Wi-Fi connection stays connected.) This may occur when, for exa mple, the smartphone receives 
    a call or you press the home button.
    If you start up “Image App” on the smartphone again, image tran smission to the Main Camera will 
    restart and the Sub Window will be displayed automatically.
    ≥ You cannot record Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera images on the smartphone.
    (While using the Wireless Twin Camera function)
    ≥ When you record still pictures, it may take longer than usual t o achieve focus. (l30)
    ≥ Simultaneous recording of still pictures is not possible while recording a motion picture or using 
    PRE-REC.
    ≥ If an image is not received from the Wireless Sub Camera select ed for a Sub Window for 
    4 minutes (approx.) or more, the Wi-Fi connection will be termin ated. (It will not be terminated 
    while motion picture is being recorded.)
    (While using the Wireless Multi-Camera function)
    ≥ This function is available only in Motion Picture Recording Mod e. You cannot switch to Still 
    Picture Recording Mode or take still pictures.
    ≥ If an image is not received from the Wireless Sub Camera select ed for a Sub Window for 
    4 minutes (approx.) or more, the Wi-Fi connection will be termin ated. (It will not be terminated 
    while motion picture is being recorded or an image is being rec eived from either of the Sub 
    Windows.)

    Check the Wi-Fi settings of the smartphone to see if the SSID 
    of this unit is selected so that a Wi-Fi connection will be mad e 
    from the smartphone to this unit.

    If the smart phone is connecte d to a wireless access point or an other 
    video camera that supports the Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera funct ion, 
    after terminating the connection, select the SSID of this unit  from the 
    smartphone’s Wi-Fi setup menu  and restart the “Image App”.
    ≥If you are uns ure about the SSI D of this unit, connecting to a 
    smartphone differen t from the previously connec ted smartphone o r 
    changed the [Direct Connection Password] setting after connecti ng to a 
    smartphone , follow the steps below to set up the connection aga in:
    (While using the Wireless Twin Camera function)
    1Close the “Image App” on the smartphone.
    2 Press Wi-Fi button on this unit to exit the Wireless Twin 
    Camera function.
    3 Press Wi-Fi button again and touch [TWIN CAMERA].

    Follow the procedure from Step 2 onwards in “Selecting this uni t’s 
    SSID on the smartphone to set up a connection” in “When 
    connecting a smartphone to this unit as a Wireless Sub Camera f or 
    the first time (To use the Wireless Twin Camera function)”. (

    The Sub Window image is 
    interrupted.
    The Sub Window image 
    disappears. ≥
    The Sub Window image is interrupted when the Wi-Fi signal 
    weakens. If the signal weakens further, the Sub Window 
    image disappears automatically.
    ≥
    Depending on the orientation of this unit and the smartphone and the 
    distance between them, the image may be interrupted.
    If the image reception is poor,  close the distance and check 
    the connection status icon ( l212) at the same time. You can 
    also point the Wi-Fi transmitter ( l7) at the smartphone.
