    This allows you to select the aspect ratio of the pictures to suit printing or the playback method.
    ≥This function’s default setting is [16:9].
    ≥ When the aspect ratio is set to [4:3] or [3:2], black bands may  appear on the left and right of the 
    screen.
    ≥ The edges of still pictures recorded on this unit with a 16:9 a spect ratio may be cut at printing. 
    Check the printer or photo studio before printing.
    The video light is turned on to make it easier to focus when yo u are recording in dark places where 
    it is hard to focus.
    ≥ Switch to Manual Mode. ( l73)
    ≥When switching to Intelligent Auto Mode or Intelligent Auto Plu s Mode, the setting is fixed to 
    [AUTO] and cannot be changed.
    ≥ This setting is not available wh en [VIDEO LIGHT] is set to [ON] .
    You can add a shutter sound when recording still pictures.
    ≥ No shutter sound is emitted in Motion Picture Recording Mode.

    Motion picture playback using operation icon
    For details on the basic playback operations, refer to page 33.
    ≥Scenes that are large in file size may cause this unit to respo nd slower to operations performed 
    by the user or cause certain operations performed by this unit  to become slower.

    the position touched or slid to while touching.

    Playback will start by releasing your touching

    Creating still picture from motion picture
    A single frame from the recorded motion picture can be saved as a still picture.
    The size of pictures to be reco rded is determined by their scen e type.
    Press the   button fully at the location to be saved as a still  picture during 
    playback.
    ≥ It is convenient to use Pause, Slow-motion Playback and Frame-b y-frame Playback.
    ≥ Date the motion picture was recorded will be registered as date  of the still picture.
    ≥ Quality will be different from the normal still picture.
    Highlight & Time Frame Index
    An image of one scene is displaye d as a thumbnail at set search condition. Scene can be played 
    back from any midway point of the scene you wish to see.
    ≥ Operate the zoom lever to   side and change over the 
    thumbnail display to Highlight & Time Frame Index. ( l35)

    jSlide the thumbnail display upward (downward) while touching 
    it.
    j Touch   (up) /   (down) on the thumbnail scroll lever. ( l34)
    2Touch the desired search condition.
    * It cannot be set while playing back 4K MP4 scenes, MP4/iFrame  scenes, 24p scenes or scenes 
    recorded as Backup for Twin Camera.
    ≥ When select [FACE], it will select the portion for which Face R ecognition was performed from the 
    scenes judged to be clearly recorded. This will then be display ed as a thumbnail.
    ≥ A portion judged to be clearly recorded will be detected and di splayed in thumbnail if you select 
    [HIGHLIGHT].

    Repeat Playback
    Playback of the first scene starts after playback of the last s cene finishes.
    The   indication appears on the full screen views.
    ≥ All the scenes are played back repeatedly. (When playing back m otion pictures by date, all the 
    scenes on the selected date are played back repeatedly.)
    Resuming the previous playback
    If playback of a scene was stopped halfway, the playback can be  resumed from where it was 
    stopped.
    If playback of a motion picture is stopped,   appears on the thu mbnail view of the stopped 
    scene.
    ≥ The memorized resume position  is cleared if you turn off the unit or press the recording/playback 
    button.
    (The setting of [RESUME PLAY] does not change.) : [VIDEO SETUP]

    Setting the playback speed of FULL HD Slow Motion 
    Video
    You can set the speed at which this unit will play back parts recorded as FULL HD Slow Motion 
    Video.
    ≥ Touch the play mode select icon, and select [ALL MP4/iFrame] or  [1080/60p] in [MP4/
    iFrame].
    ≥ If you play back the parts on another device, they will be play ed back at 1/2 normal speed. To play 
    them back at 1/4 normal speed, perform [Slow Speed Conversion]  (l 136 ).
    ≥ Once you perform [Slow Speed Conversion] on the scenes, the par ts will be played back at 1/4 
    normal speed.
    Zooming in on a still picture during playback 
    (Playback zoom)
    You can zoom in by touching a still picture during playback.
    1Touch and hold the part you wish to zoom in on during still pic ture playback.≥It will display enlarged in order of normal display ( k1)  #  k2 #  k4. Touch and hold the screen to 
    zoom in from the normal display (k 1) to k2. Touch the screen to zoom in from  k2 to  k4.
    ≥ The still picture is zoomed in on, centering on the part you touched.
    2Move to the zoomed in position by touching  /
    / /  or slide while touching the screen.
    ≥The location of the zoom displays for about 1 second when 
    zooming in (zooming out) or moving the displayed location.
    Zooming out from the zoomed still pictureTouch   to zoom out. ( k4 #  k2 #  k1)
    ≥ Touch   to return to normal playback ( k1).
    ≥ You can also perform zoom operations using the zoom lever.
    ≥ The more picture is enlarged, the more its quality deteriorates .

    Playing back motion pictures/still pictures by date
    The scenes or the still pictures recorded on the same day can be played back in succession.
    1Touch the date select icon. (l24)
    2Touch the playback date.The scenes or the still pictures recorded on the date selected are displayed as thumbnails.
    3Touch the scene or the still picture to be played back.
    ≥If you press the recording/playback button to switch between Re cording Mode and Playback 
    Mode, the [VIEW ALL] screen will be displayed again.
    ≥ In cases such as those described below, scenes and still pictur es are grouped separately on the 
    date list, and –1, –2… may be added after the date:
    j When the number of scenes exceeds 99
    j When the number of still pictures exceeds 999
    j When [REC MODE] in [AVCHD] is changed
    j When the microphone input sound (5.1ch/2ch) is changed
    j When recorded in Creative Control Mode.
    j When the [ON]/[OFF] setting of Backup for Twin Camera is switch ed (l57)

    displayed according to the category:
    4K Cropping
    You can add various effects to 4K MP4 scenes and save them as 1 080/30p scenes.
    ≥ Touch the play mode select icon on the thumbnail screen in Play back Mode, and select 
    [4K MP4]. ( l33)

    4Perform playback operations. (l34)≥When the preview ends or the playback is stopped, a screen will  be displayed, asking you to 
    select [REPLAY]*1, [SAVE] ( l111 ), [SELECT AGAIN]*2 or [EXIT]. Touch the desired item.
    *1 It cannot be selected when [Tracking Crop] is selected.
    *2 It cannot be selected when [Stabilizing Crop] is selected.
    ≥ You cannot perform fast forward playback, fast rewind playback,  skip playback, Slow-motion 
    Payback, Frame-by-frame Playback, and direct playback during pr eview. 
    ≥ Scenes recorded with other devices and scenes edited with HD Wri ter AE 5.3 may not work 
    correctly.
    1 Touch the scene to which you want to apply the function.≥Touch [OK].2 Perform playback operations to set a preview start point.≥Set a start point so that the length between the start point an d end point will be at least 
    3 second long (approx.).
    ≥ You will find it convenient to use slow playback and Frame-by-f rame Playback. (l103 )
    ≥ Pause the scene at the desired start point.
    3 Adjust the size and position of the cropping 
    frame for the start point.
    ≥Touching   will change the cropping frame's size 
    and color. (White  # Yellow)
    The size will change in the following order each time 
    you touch the icon:
    Large  # Medium  # Small
    ≥ You can change the position of the medium- or small-
    sized cropping frame by touching the screen.
    ≥ If you leave the screen untouched, the cropping 
    frame's size and position will be set automatically.
    FunctionEffect
    [Zooming Crop] Allows you to save a cropped image that changes its 
    position and size in high-defi
    nition picture quality after 
    setting the cropping positions and sizes for start and 
    end points.
    [Tracking Crop] Allows you to save a cropped image that tracks the 
    subject specified with touch operation in high-definition 
    picture quality.
    [Stabilizing Crop] Allows you to save a cropped image to which a 
    correction effect that stabilizes the blur on the subject 
    caused by hand-shake during recording is applied in 
    high-definition picture quality.
    ≥
    A cropped image that starts from the beginning of the 
    original scenes will be saved.

    Depending on the set zoom speed, the end point will 
    vary.

    ≥The cropping frame for the end point will be displayed in the s ame position as the cropping 
    frame for the start point.
    ≥ The cropping frame for the start point is indicated in gray, wh ile the cropping frame for the 
    end point is indicated in white.
    ≥ To reset the cropping frame for the start point, touch  .
    ≥ Perform the same operations as Step 3 to change the size and po sition of the cropping 
    frame.
    7 To u c h   .≥A preview will start.
    ≥You cannot apply this function to scenes shorter than 3 seconds  (approx.).

    ∫ Notes on the target frame
    ≥If the target frame fails to lock the target, it will flash red  and then disappear. 
    Touch a distinct portion of the subject (color, etc.), or reset  the preview start point and then lock 
    the target again.
    ≥ When a preview is played back until the end of the scene or the  playback time of a preview 
    exceeds 20 minutes (approx.), the preview will end automatically .
    If you save the image, the previewed portion (from the start po int to the end point) will be saved.
