Wireless Multi-Camera function
Connecting multiple smartphones to this unit via Wi-Fi allows y ou to simultaneously display two Sub 
Windows and record images in them.
Up to three smartphones can be connected simultaneously. ( l207 )

* When the LCD monitor is either closed or closed with the scree n facing outward, the Sub Camera

Notes on the Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera function
The performance of the Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera function varies depending on the surrounding 
radio wave conditions. Since the human body blocks radio waves,  it is also influenced by how 
crowded the area is.
∫ Recording tips
≥Use your Wireless Sub Camera in a position where as much of it as possible can be seen from 
the position of this unit.
≥ When the signal between this unit and the Wireless Sub Camera w eakens, a warning icon 
appears. In such a case, close the distance between them.
≥ We recommend that you attach a tripod to this unit when recordi ng.
∫When using a smartphone as a Wireless Sub Camera
≥The Wireless Twin/Multi-Camera function commands the smartphone  to process images and 
transmit Wi-Fi signals.
≥ Image processing performance, Wi-Fi signal transmission perform ance, and the antenna location 
vary depending on the smartphone.
≥ The Sub Window’s image, which is transmitted from the smartphon e, is displayed with a slight 
delay compared to the Main camera’s image.
≥ Depending on the device and environment, movement in the image  transmitted from the 
smartphone may not look smooth or may look as if frames were mi ssed. This is particularly the 
case with vertical orientation, which increases the smartphone’ s processing burden.
≥For information on the setup of your smartphone, refer to its o perating instructions.
≥ Please also refer to “If the Wi-Fi connection cannot be establi shed”. (l192 )
Keep the following points in mind when using a smartphone as a 
Wireless Twin/Multi-
Camera:
≥ We recommend that you use an Android device with a Quad Core or higher CPU or the latest 
iOS device.
≥ We recommend that you look at the image transmitted from your s martphone in advance to 
check the optimal recording distance for the smartphone, the ea siest way to hold it, and other 
recording conditions.
≥ We recommend that you turn off the smartphone’s GPS and Bluetooth functions, which may 
affect the Wireless Sub Camera’s image.
≥ We recommend that you close as many other applications as possi ble.
≥ Recording consumes a large amount of battery power. When recording for a long period of 
time, pay attention to the remaining battery power.

When connecting a smartphone to this unit as a 
Wireless Sub Camera for the first time (To use the

4On the smartphone’s Wi-Fi setting screen, select the SSID displayed on this 
unit.
≥ It may take time to complete the Wi-Fi connection.
5When the Wi-Fi connection is complete, press the home button on  the 
smartphone and start up the smartphone application “Image App”.

Confirm the message, and touch [YES] on the screen of this unit .
≥When the connection to this unit is complete, the image being c aptured by the smartphone will be 
displayed on the Sub Window of this unit.

5On the smartphone’s Wi-Fi setting screen, select the SSID displ ayed on this 
unit.
≥ If this is the first time the sm artphone is connecting to this  unit via Wi-Fi, enter the Password 
displayed on this unit’s screen on the smartphone.
≥ It may take time to complete the Wi-Fi connection.
6When the Wi-Fi connection is complete, press the home button on  the 
smartphone and start up the smartphone application “Image App”.  
≥When the connection to this unit is complete, the image being c aptured by the smartphone will be 
displayed on the Sub Window of this unit.
≥ The following operations allow you to register up to ten smartp hones. If the number exceeds ten, 
smartphone information with the oldest registration date and ti me will be deleted.
j Setting [Direct Connection Password] to [OFF] and connecting th is unit and a smartphone 
directly.

1 Select the option that allows you to install the app on the pro file screen of the “Image App”, and 
follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
2 Press the home button to close the displayed screen.
3 Touch [NEXT] on the screen of t his unit to display its SSID.
4 After selecting the network name (SSID) of this unit from the W i-Fi setup of the smartphone, 
start up “Image App”.
≥ When the connection to this unit is complete, the image being c aptured by the smartphone will be 
displayed on the Sub Window of this unit.
≥ If the QR code cannot be scanned, refer to “Selecting this unit ’s SSID on the smartphone to set

≥You cannot connect devices other than smartphones for the Wirel ess Multi-Camera function.
≥ Changing the [Direct Connection Password] setting clears regist ered smartphones.
≥ When you have made a connection with [Direct Connection Passwor d] set to [ON], connect the 
second and subsequent smartphones with the same setting. The sm artphones can be connected 
even if different connection methods, [Wi-Fi] and [QR code], ar e used for them.
≥ The following operation allows you to register up to ten smartphones. If the number exceeds ten, 
smartphone information with the oldest registration date and ti me will be deleted. (Smartphones 
may become unregistered when you use the Wireless Multi-Camera  function.)

When connecting for the second time or later
1Touch the recording screen on this unit and touch  .
2Start up the smartphone application “Image App”.≥This unit and the smartphone will be connected via Wi-Fi. When the 
connection to this unit is complete, the image being captured by the 
smartphone will be displayed on the Sub Window of this unit.
≥If the connection cannot be established or no image appears 
on the Sub Window, follow the steps below to set up the connect ion again:
1 Close the smartphone application “Image App”.
2 Touch the recording screen of this unit again and touch  .
3 Touch [Change Device] on the screen of this unit.
After completing the steps above, follow the procedure from Ste p 2 onwards in “Selecting this unit’s 
SSID on the smartphone to set up a connection” in “When connect ing a smartphone to this unit as a 
Wireless Sub Camera for the first time (To use the Wireless Twi n Camera function)”. (l203 )
≥[History] allows you to set up a Wi-Fi connection with the Wi-F i function settings you have used before. (l191)
