    ∫Change display language
    1From the Home screen  > [ ] >  [ ].2[Language & input]  > [Language]  > select the desired language.
    ∫ Change screen brightness
    1From the Home screen  > [ ] >  [ ].2[Display]  > [Brightness]  > drag the slider left or right to adjust the brightness.
    ≥ Tapping [AUTO] adjusts the screen brightness automatically to s uit the  surrounding brightness.
    ∫Set how much time passes before entering sleep modeSet how much time passes before automatically entering sleep mode when there are no operations.
    1From the Home screen  > [ ] >  [ ].2[Display]  > [Sleep]  > select the time.
    ∫ Add accountAdding an account allows you to synchronize data with services  such as Google.
    ≥ Setting up a Google account will allow apps to be downloaded fr om t he Play Store, and backup various types of 
    data.
    Setting up a Google account is recommended.

    2[Add account]  > tap the services to add.
    ≥ Follow the on-screen instructions and enter account information .
    ∫Turn data synchronization on/offSynchronization of various dat a can be turned on/off for each a ccount.

    ≥You may need to tap the account again depending on the service.
    3Turn the checkbox for each type of data on/off.

    3.Connecting to networks
    Connecting to mobile networks
    2G/3G/LTE networks can be used to access email, messages and th e internet.
    For most mobile network operators, the connection is configured  aut omatically when a 
    microSIM card is inserted.
    If the connection is not configured automatically, an access point  
    
    must be configured 
    manually.
    Check with the mobile network operator with whom you signed the  net
    
    work contract for the 
    information required when setting the access points.
    1From the Home screen  > [ ] >  [ ].
    2[More...]  > [Mobile networks]  > [Access Point Names]  > [ ].
    3[Name]  > enter the name for the new settings  > [OK].
    4[APN]  > enter the access point name  > [OK].
    5Enter other information as required.≥The details to enter differ depending on your mobile network op erator .

    ∫Disabling mobile network connectionsDisable a 2G/3G/LTE network connection.
    This can be used to avoid unintentional downloads or synchroniz ati on.
    ≥ Wi-Fi network settings will not be changed.

    2[More...]  > [Mobile networks].3Turn off the [Data enabled] checkbox.
    ∫ Configure data roamingWhen data roaming is enabled, you may be able to use another mobile network operator’s network for data 
    connections even if you are outside of the range of your operat or’s network.
    For details, contact your mobile network operator.
    ≥ Data roaming charges will be incurred.
    Some apps may use data connections without notifying you.

    ∫ Configure priority network type

    ∫ Select mobile network operator manuallyA specific mobile network operator can be selected and connecte d to while outside or traveling.
    If a mobile network operator is selected manually, the unit will  not connect to other mobile network operators even 
    if you move out of range of the selected mobile network operato r.

    ≥ The unit will begin searching for networks. Please wait.
    3Select network.
    ≥Tap [Search networks] to search for networks again.

    Connecting to Wi-Fi® networks
    This unit is compatible with Wi-Fi networks.
    You can use email and the internet 
     with wireless LAN services.
    1From the Home screen > [ ] >  [ ].
    2Turn on [Wi-Fi].≥[ ] is displayed in the status bar if connection settings have al ready com pleted.
    1From the Home screen > [ ] >  [ ].
    2Ta p   [ W i - F i ] .≥A list of detected Wi-Fi networks is displayed.
    3Select a Wi-Fi network.≥If a Wi-Fi network that is protected with security is selected,  enter the  password and tap [Connect].
    ≥ If the desired Wi-Fi network is not displayed, add the Wi-Fi ne twork m anually. (P35)
    Turning on the Wi-Fi function
    ≥When Wi-Fi is turned on, the Wi-Fi connection will take priorit y even if  a mobile network connection is enabled.
    ≥ When Wi-Fi is turned off, the unit will automatically switch to  the mo bile network connection.
    ≥ The Wi-Fi feature consumes additional power from the unit’s bat tery . If Wi-Fi operation is not desired, disabling 
    this feature can extend the overall operating time.

    ≥ After you connect to a Wi-Fi network, the unit will automatically switch to tha t Wi-Fi network the next time it is 
    within range.
    ≥ Some Wi-Fi networks require you to enter a user name and passwo rd w
     hen accessing a webpage.

    ∫Adding a Wi-Fi network manuallySome Wi-Fi networks cannot be detected automatically. In this c ase, you need to add the Wi-Fi network manually.

    Connecting to VPNs
    If your company or school uses a Virtual Private Network (VPN), you must configure your 
    unit so that you can use the VPN.

    Configure a portable Wi-Fi access point
    Using this unit as a portable Wi-Fi access point allows PCs with wireless LAN capabilities 
    to connect to the internet.
    1From the Home screen  > [ ] >  [ ].
    2[More...]  > [Tethering & portable hotspot]  > [Set up Wi-Fi hotspot].
    3Configure the network SSID, security and password  > [Save].
    4Turn the [Portable Wi-Fi hotspot] checkbox on.≥[ ] is displayed in the status bar.

    Configure airplane mode
    This turns off all wireless features of the unit to prevent interference with aircraft 
    equipment.
    1From the Home screen  > [ ] >  [ ].
    2[More...]  > turn on the [Airplane mode] checkbox.≥[ ] is displayed in the status bar.
    ≥ This can also be configured by pressing [ ] for 1 second or more, and tapping [Airplane mode].

    4.Camera
    Before using the camera
    ≥Check whether the lens is stained.  (P190)
    ≥ W
    hen starting the camera app, be careful not to interfere with the l ens operation.
    ≥ Make sure that your fingers or hair do not cover the lens when  ta king pictures.
    ≥ Always take test shots beforehand.
    Always take test shots for important pictures (such as weddings ) to confi
     rm that images and sounds are recorded 
    properly.
    ≥ If the camera function is interrupted by an incoming call or al arm 
     sound in certain situations, including during exposure 
    or when the unit is eliminating noise caused by a slow shutter  speed, an image may not be recorded.
    ≥ Compensation cannot be provided for missed shots.
    Compensation cannot be provided for missed shots if technical p roblem
     s with the unit or microSD card prevent 
    recording.
    ≥ The effect of the set shutter speed is not reflected in the Rec ordi
     ng screen (image shown in the display).
    ≥ The set aperture value is reflected in the Recording screen onl y when the  shutter button is pressed halfway.
    ≥ There may be a slight delay between starting recording and actuall y recording content. When recording objects that 
    are moving fast, the position displayed on the screen when star ting recording may differ slightly to the position being 
    recorded.
    ≥ If the temperature of the unit incr eases w
     hen taking pictures under high temperature conditions or taking pictures 
    continuously, stop recording and end the camera app.
    ≥ Be sure to pay special attention to the privacy, the likeness r ig
     hts, etc. of the subject when you use this unit.

    ∫Tips for taking good picturesHold the unit gently with both hands, keep your arms still at your side and stand with your feet slightly 
    apart.
    ≥Do not cover the flash/AF Assist lamp  A, the m
     icrophone B or the speaker  C with your fingers or other 
    objects.
    ≥ Be careful not to move the unit when you press the shutter butt on.
    If the unit moves, it may  cause blurr
     y images.
    Dim areas become blur easily in particular.
