About RAWRAW format refers to the original format of data that is not im age-processed on the unit.
The Playback screen of this unit plays back simplified thumbnai ls within the RA W image. Accordingly, the image
is displayed rough and has a low enlargement factor.
Special software is needed in the computer to edit RAW images.
Using the dedicated software, you can perform advanced editing, such as a
     djusting the White Balance after
taking a picture. The software also allows you to save pictures in file formats that can display them on a PC
(JPEG, TIFF, etc.). Pictures taken in RAW format will have high er image quality than those taken in JPEG format,
but the data size will be larger.

The following AF area frames are displayed when the unit detect s the faces.
Select the type of Auto Focus Mode ([AF Mode])
This allows the focusing method that suits the positions and number of the subjects
    to be selected.
[š ] ([Face Detection]) The unit automatically detects the person’s face. (max. 15
     areas)
The focus and exposure can then be adjusted to fit that face no
matter w hat portion of the picture it is in.
[ ] ([AF Tracking]) Focus can be adjusted to a specified subject. Focus will keep o

[ ] ([23-Area]) Up to 23 points for each AF area can be focused.
This is effective when the subject is not in the center of the
    screen.
    (
AF area frame will be same as image aspect ratio setting.)
[ Ø ] ([1-Area]) The unit focuses on the subject in the AF area on the center of
     the

distance away as faces within the yellow AF
    areas are also focused.
≥ Under certain picture-taking conditions including the following c
ases, the face detection function may fail to
work, making it impo ssible to detect faces.
