4. Camera 91 Setting the Menu Various menu options are available for you to set the unit to take pictures the way you want and to use it with ease. Example: In the [Rec] menu, change [Quality] from [ A] to [›] 1From the Recording screen > [ ]. 2Select the menu. 3Select the menu item.≥Scroll the screen to display hidden items. 4Select the setting.≥The available settings differ depending on the Recording Mode. ∫ Close the menuTa p [ ] repeatedly to return to the Recording screen. ≥ The menu screen can also be exited by pressing the shutter butt on halfway . [Rec] (P96) T his menu lets you set the aspect ratio, number of pixels and o ther a spects of the pictures you are recording. [Motion Picture] (P9 3) This menu lets you set the [Rec Quality], and other aspects for moti on picture recording. [Custom] (P1 16) Your favorite operation environment can be configured to suit t he recordi ng style. [Setup] (P122) T he unit can be configured for easier use, such as changing the save destina tion of images. ≥ There are functions that cannot be set or used depending on the modes o r menu settings being used on this unit due to the specifications.

Camera 92 ∫[Rec] Menu list This menu lets you set the aspect ratio, number of pixels and other aspects of the pictures you are recording. ≥[Photo Style], [Metering Mode], [i .Dynamic] and [i.Resolution] are common to both the [Rec] menu and [Motion Picture] menu. Changing these settings in one of these menus is reflected in other menu. [Drive Mode] You can change what this unit will do when you press the shutte r bu tton.P96 [Photo Style] You can select effects to match the type of image you wish to r ec ord. You can adjust the color and image quality of the effects. P101 [Aspect Ratio] Sets the aspect ratio of the image. P103 [Picture Size] Set the number of pixels. P104 [Quality] Set the compression rate at which the pictures are to be stored .P105 [AF Mode] This allows the focusing method that suits the positions and nu mber of the subjects to be selected. P106 [Focus Mode] The focus method can be selected. P106, P108 [Flash] The setting of the built-in flash can be selected. P81 [Metering Mode] Sets the light metering method for measuring brightness. P109 [i.Dynamic] (Intelligent dyn amic range control) Adjusts the contrast and exposure. P113 [ISO Limit Set] When the ISO sensitivity is set to [AUTO] or [ ], an optimal ISO sensitivity is set with the selected value as an upper limit. This menu lets you set the [Rec Quality], and other aspects for motio n picture recording. ≥ [Photo Style], [Metering Mode], [i .Dynamic] and [i.Resolution] are common to both the [Rec] menu and [Motion Picture] menu. Changing these settings in one of these menus is reflected in other menu. – For details, refer to the explanation for the corresponding setting in the [Rec] menu. [Rec Quality] This sets up the picture quality of motion pictures. P48 [Cust.Set Mem.] Registers the current camera function settings as custom set. P62 [Silent Mode] Disables operational sounds and output of light at once. P116 [AF/AE Lock] Sets the fixed content for focusing and exposure when the AF/AE l ock is on. P117 [AF Assist Lamp] AF assist lamp will illuminate the subject when the shutter but ton is pressed half-way making it easier for the unit to focus when re cording in low light conditions. P118 [Peaking] In-focus portions are highlighted when focus is being adjusted manu ally.P119 [Peaking Detect Level] The detection level for in-focus portions is set. P123 [Tilt sensor adj ustment] You can adjust the tilt of the horizon reference line when the uni t is held in a horizontal orientation. P123 [No.Reset] Returns the image file number to 0001. Camera 98 ≥The focus is fixed in the first picture. ≥ Exposure, White Balance and ISO sensitivity will be fixed to th e sett ings for the first picture when [SH]/[H] is set. ≥ When [SH]/[H] is set, the record ing may be brighter or darker from the second picture depending on changes in the brightness of the subject. ≥ When set to [H]/[M]/[L], the burst speed may drop midway when t he number of pictures taken continuously increases. ≥ Since the shutter speed becomes slower in dark places, the burs t spee d (pictures/second) may become slower. ≥ Depending on the operating conditions, it may take time to take the ne xt picture if you repeat the recording of pictures. ≥ It may take time to save pictures taken in Burst Mode on the mi cro SD card. For continuous shooting, use of a high speed microSD card is re com mended. ≥ The Burst Mode is disabled in the following cases. – [Glistening Water]/[Glittering Illuminations]/[Handheld Night Sho t] (Scene Guide Mode) – [Miniature Effect]/[Star Filter] (Creative Control Mode) – When recording motion pictures – When [HDR] is set to [ON] ≥ In the following case, [ SH ] in Burst Mode cannot be used. – When [Quality] is set to [ ] or []

4. Camera 99 Applicable modes: 1From the Recording screen > [ ] > [Rec] > [Drive Mode] > [ Auto Bracket]. (P 91) 2Set the exposure compensation range. 3Focus on the subject and take a picture. Taking Pictures using Auto Bracket In this mode, 3 pictures are automatically r ecorded in the selected exposure compensation range each time the shutter button is pressed. 4. Camera 100 Applicable modes: 1From the Recording screen > [ ] > [Rec] > [Drive Mode] > [ Self Timer]. (P91) 2Select the time of the Self-timer. 3Press the shutter button halfway to focus and then press it fully to take the picture. ≥Focus and exposure will be set when the shutter button is pre ssed halfway. Taking Pictures with the Self-timer [ ] ([2sec.]) Picture is taken 2 seconds after shutter is pressed. ≥ This is convenient for preventing camera shake when the shutter button is pressed e.g. when recording with this unit fixed. [ ] ([10sec.]) Picture is taken 10 seconds after shutter is pressed. ≥ We recommend that you fix the unit when using the Self-timer fo r rec ording. ≥ Self-timer is disabled in the following case. – When recording motion pictures
