213 Q Creating a DPOF Print Order: Print Set The DPOF print order option in the playback menu is used to create digital “print orders” for PictBridge-compatible printers and devices that support DPOF. 1Choose Select/set for the DPOF print order item in the playback menu. Press the G button and select DPOF print order in the playback menu. Highlight Select/set and press 2 (to remove all photographs from the print order, select Deselect all? ). 2Select pictures. Press 4 or 2 to scroll through the pictures on the memory card (to view images in other locations, hold the D button and press 1). To display the current picture in full screen, press and hold the X(T ) button. To select the current picture for printing, press 1 . The picture will be marked with a Z icon and the number of prints will be set to 1. Press 1 or 3 to specify the number of prints (up to 99; to deselect the picture, press 3 when the number of prints is 1). Continue until all the desired pictures have been selected. 3Display imprint options. Press J to display data imprint options. G button X (T ) button : View photo full screen

Highlight the following options and press 2 to toggle the highlighted option on or off (to complete the print order without including this information, proceed to Step 5). • Print shooting data : Print shutter speed and aperture on all pictures in print order. • Print date : Print date of recording on all pictures in print order. 5Complete the print order. Press J to complete the print order. DDPOF Print Order To print the current print order when the camera is connected to a PictBridge printer, select Print (DPOF) in the PictBridge menu and follow the steps in “Printing Multiple Pictures” to modify and print the current order ( 0210). DPOF print date and shooting data options are not supported when printing via direct USB connection; to print the date of recording on photographs in the current print order, use the PictBridge Time stamp option. The DPOF print order option can not be used if there is not enough space on the memory card to store the print order. NEF (RAW ) photographs ( 066) can not be selected using this option. JPEG copies of NEF (RAW ) images can be created using the NEF (RAW) processing option in the retouch menu ( 0 282). Print orders may not print correctly if images are deleted using a computer or other device after the print order is created.
215 Q Viewing Photographs on TV The camera can be connected to high-defintion video devices using a High- D efinition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) cable (available separately from commercial sources). The cable must have a HDMI mini connector (Type C) for connection to the camera. 1Tu rn t he came ra o ff. Always turn the camera off before connecting or disconnecting an HDMI cable. 2Connect the HDMI cable as shown. 3Tune the device to the HDMI channel. 4Turn the camera on and press the K button. During playback, images will be displayed on the television screen. DClose the Connector Cover Close the camera connector cover when the connectors are not in use. Foreign matter in the connectors can interfere with data transfer. ATelevision Playback Use of an EH-5b AC adapter and EP-5B power connector (available separately) is recommended for extended playback. The TV will display images full screen if photo information is hidden duri ng full-frame playback (0187). Note that the edges may not be visible when photographs are viewed on a television screen. AAudio Audio will not be played back over headphones connected to the camera. Volume can be adjusted using television controls; the camera controls can not be used. 216 Q ❚❚HDMI Options The HDMI option in the setup menu ( 0261) controls output resolution and can be used to enable the camera for remote co ntrol from devices that support HDMI-CEC ( H igh- Definition Multimedia Interface– Consumer Electronics Control, a standard that allows HDMI devices to be used to control peripherals to which they are connected). Output Resolution Choose the format for images output to the HDMI device. If Auto is selected, the camera will automatically select the appropriate format. Device Control If On is selected for HDMI >Device control in the setup menu when the camera is connected to a television that supports HDMI-CEC and both the camera and television are on, the display shown at right will appear on the television and the television re mote can be used in place of the camera multi selector and J button during full- frame playback and slide shows. If Off is selected, the television remote can not be used to control the camera. AHDMI and Live View HDMI displays connected via an HDMI cable can be used for live view photography and movie live view ( 0160, 168). During movie live view and movie recording, images will be output to the HDMI device at the resolution selected for HDMI > Output resolution in the setup menu. If Auto is selected, HDMI output will be adjusted according to the option selected for Movie settings > Frame size/frame rate in the shooting menu ( 0169). If the HDMI device does not support the setting auto matically selected at the current frame size and rate, choose an option other than Auto for Output resolution . Movies may be output at a frame size smaller than that selected for Frame size/frame rate (0 169). AHDMI-CEC Devices When the camera is connected to an HDMI-CEC device, ) will appear in the control panel in place of the number of exposures remaining. 218 U H ide or reveal pic tures. Hidden pictures are visible only in the Hide image menu and can only be deleted by formatting the memory card. Follow the steps below to hide or reveal selected pictures. 1Choose Select/set . Highlight Select/set and press 2. 2Select pictures. Use the multi selector to scroll through the pictures on the memory card (to view the highlighted picture full screen, press and hold the X (T ) button; to view images in other locations as described on page 186, hold D and press 1) and press W (S ) to select the current picture. Selected pictures are marked by a R icon; to deselect a picture, highlight it and press W (S ) again. Continue until all the desired pictures have been selected. 3Press J. Press J to complete the operation. Hide ImageG button ➜Dplayback menu OptionDescription Select/set Hide or reveal selected pictures. Select date Selecting this option displays a list of dates. To hide all pictures taken on a date, highlight the date and press 2. Selected dates are marked by a L; to reveal all pictures taken on a selected date, highlight it and press 2. Press J to complete the operation. Deselect all? Reveal all pictures. DProtected and Hidden Images Revealing a protected image will also remove protection from the image. W (S ) button
219 U Choose the information available in the playback photo information display ( 0187). Press 1 or 3 to highlight an option, then press 2 to select the option for the photo information display. A L appears next to selected items; to deselect, highlight and press 2. To return to the playback menu, press J. Copy pictures from one memory card to another. This option is only available when two memory cards are inserted in the camera. 1Choose Select source . Highlight Select source and press 2. 2Select the source card. Highlight the slot for the card containing the images to be copied and press J. 220 U 3Choose Select image(s) . Highlight Select image(s) and press 2. 4Select the source folder. Highlight the folder containing the images to be copied and press 2. 5Make the initial selection. Before going on to select or deselect individual images, you can mark all or all protected images in the folder for copying by choosing Select all images or Select protected images . To m a r k o n l y individually selected images for copying, choose Deselect all before proceeding. 6Select additional images. Highlight pictures and press W (S ) to select or deselect (to view the highlighted picture full screen, press and hold the X (T ) button). Selected images are marked with a L. Press J to proceed to Step 7 when your selection is complete. 7Choose Select destination folder . Highlight Select destination folder and press 2. W (S ) button
221 U 8Select a destination folder. To enter a folder number, choose Select folder by number , enter the number ( 0 225), and press J. If the folder with the selected number does not already exist, a new folder will be created. To choose from a list of existing folders, choose Select folder from list , highlight a folder, and press J. 9Copy the images. Highlight Copy image(s)? and press J. A confirmation dialog will be displayed; highlight Ye s and press J. Press J again to exit when copying is complete. DCopying Images Images will not be copied if there is in sufficient space on the destination card. Be sure the battery is fully charged before copying movies. If the destination folder contains an image with the same name as one of the images to be copied, a confirmation dialog will be displayed. Select Replace existing image to replace the image with the image to be copied, or select Replace all to replace all existing images with the same names without further prompting. To continue without replacing the image, select Skip, or select Cancel to exit without copying any further images. Protect status is copied with the images but print marking ( 0213) is not. Hidden images can not be copied.
222 U Choose whether pictures are automatically displayed in the monitor immediately after shooting. If Off is selected, pictures can only be displayed by pressing the K button. Choose the picture displayed after an image is deleted. Choose whether to rotate “tall” (portrait-orientation) pictures for display during playback. Note that because the camera itself is already in the appropriate orientation during shooting, images are not rotated automatically during image review. Pictures taken with Off selected for Auto image rotation (0 265) will be displayed in “wide” (landscape) orientation. Off “Tall” (portrait-orientation) pictures are displayed in “wide” (landscape) orientation.
